OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS RH 340 Operation
Do not run engines at full load unless they have been allowed to run for at least 3 minutes at idling.
Repeat the starting procedure if one of the engines does not fire. Repeat starting procedure not more often than three to four times. Do not operate the starter for more than 10 seconds.
If, after starting, the BCS (2, Fig. 2-77:) indicates a fault
of the PMS
because of insufficient engine oil pressure
of the alternator stop the engine concerned immediately.
Locate the cause of the fault and rectify before restarting the engine.
Shutting off the engines
During interruptions of the work and after the work, stand working equipment on the ground.
Do not shut off the engines before the working equipment rests on the ground.
Turn speed control knob (56 and 66, Fig. 2-78:) counter-clockwise to the limit stop (idling speed).
Do not shut off engines out of full load.
The engines should be run at idling for another 5 minutes to allow the lubricating oil and the cooling liquid to dissipate the combustion heat from the combustion chamber and from bearings and shafts.
Depress key (52) for the lefthand engine.
Depress key (62) for the righthand engine.
Turn key in key-switch (32) counter-clockwise and withdraw (electrical system without current).
