Inspection and servicing

Gear oil filter

Oil for the pump transfer gearbox is cleaned in the filter (Fig. 3-76:).

Changing filter element

Take filter element (43) out of housing (42). Clean filter housing and sealing surface on filter head using white spirits or petroleum. Fit new filter element into housing (42). Fit new, lightly oiled seal rings (45 and 46) to filter head.

After starting operation again, check filter for leakages.

Check the gear oil filter

in accordance with servicing plan. if the tell-tale pin (1) on the underpressure indicator (2) springs out and can not be pressed back in.

If the tell-tale pin (1, Fig. 3-77:) appears, it is possible that the filter is contaminated with metal particles. Inspect the filter element carefully. Trace any cause and remedy.
