Precautions during operation
IMPORTANT: Do not pull or push dirt with the bucket when traveling.
Position the dipper slightly forward of the vertical position with bucket rolled-back, as shown.
Operate the dipper retract while slowly raising the boom. Once the dipper moves past the vertical position slowly lower the boom to allow the bucket to maintain a smooth surface.
Grading operation can be more precisely done by operating the boom, dipper and bucket simultaneously.
Swing force
Do not use the swing force (boom pivot) to move huge stones, pull down walls, etc. This use may damage the front attachment and swing motor.
Avoid improper use
Performance which can be obtained from the machine is clearly defined by the Manufacturer's specifications. Never exceed allowed operation.
Improper travel
Never travel with the machine bucket firmly thrust into ground.

PRECAUTIONS DURING OPERATION
WARNING
Carefully inspect the work site before digging. If there is the possibility of falling objects, install overhead cab guards for safety purposes. If the ground where you are going to work is not compact or firm, adequately reinforce (prop up) the work area to operate safely.

• Wear clothing and safety equipment suitable for the job, such as hard hat, etc., when operating the machine. • Clear all persons and obstacles, if any, from the area of machine operation and movement. • Always beware of the surroundings while operating the machine. • When working in a small area congested or surrounded by obstacles, take care not to hit the upperstructure or counterweight against such obstacles while swinging.

When digging deeply with front offset, the arm offset or offset section can touch the ditch corners (see figure on the right). It is important to respect these procedures:
• When the front part is offset, it is more likely that the offset section or the link rod touch the ditch corners.
If the offset boom is bent, the front part does not operate correctly. Be extremely careful in order to avoid accidental contact.
• Use front offset regularly to ensure correct pin lubrication.
• Before starting the machine after warm-up, make sure offset shift is normal.
• Do not use hydraulic breaker or crusher with front offset. If you do, the offset boom and offset and other parts can be damaged.
• Do not compact a slope with a finishing bucket (ditch digging or V-shaped). The front part can be damaged.
• When digging with the front offset and dipper extended, the bucket can hit the tyres. Be careful in order to avoid this when digging near the undercarriage.
