INDICATOR AND WARNING LIGHTS
The indicator lights are located on the front instrument panel behind the steering wheel, and are: A.Warning indicator light (Yellow) B.Stop indicator light (Red) C.Starting standby indicator light (Grid Heater) (green) D.Grid Heater operating indicator light (red)
A.Warning indicator light
Needs the operator’s attention when this light is on. Indicates a slight failure.
B.Stop indicator light
Machine must be immediately stopped when this light is on. Indicates a serious failure. The specific high temperature of the engine coolant and the low pressure of the oil are not indicated by the indicator lights flashing code. In this condition the red bulb is on as long as the engine is running and the ECM will advance the reduction of the engine power. If this occurs, stop the machine for repairs to be performed by a CUMMINS Dealer.
C. Starting standby indicator light (Grid
Heater)
This light turns on when the ignition key is turned to the "IGN" position as a check of the Grid Heater control system between the engine ECM, the panel light and the auxiliary magnetic switch. This light will be kept turned on as long as the Grid Heater warming is necessary according to the environment low temperature. The Grid Heater is automatically activated by the ECM and the operator must wait until this light turns off before starting the engine.
D. Grid Heater operating indicator light
This light turns on together with the starting standby light. When this light turns on, a sound buzzer is activated at the same time.
CAUTION:If this light does not turn off after 20 seconds or turns on without the green light being on, a failure occurred on the Grid Heater power relay. Stop the machine immediately,
turn off the main power
switch and contact an authorized Case Dealer.
NOTE: In case of an extremely cold weather the Grid Heater may be activated during normal operation of the machine, causing this light (red) to turn on. This is not a failure if the light turns off after a few moments.
