Engine Oil Selection

Case AKCELA No. 1 Engine Oil is recommended for use in your Case Engine. Case AKCELA Engine Oil will lubricate your engine correctly under all operating conditions. If Case AKCELA Multi-Viscosity Engine Oil is not available, use only oil meeting API engine oil service category CH-4 (preferred) or CG-4

RH99K130

See the chart on following page for recommended viscosity at ambient air temperature ranges. NOTE: Do not put Performance Additives or other oil additive products in the engine crankcase. The oil change intervals given in this manual are according to tests with Case AKCELA lubricants.

Oil Viscosity/Temperature Ranges

BC02N250 NOTE: Use of an engine oil pan heater or an engine coolant heater may be required when operating temperatures are in Winter or Arctic conditions. NOTE: The use of low viscosity oils, such as 10W-30 can be used to aid in starting the engine and in providing sufficient oil flow at ambient temperatures below - 5°C (23°F). The continuous use of low viscosity oils can decrease engine life due to wear. See the chart above for the correct oil for ambient temperatures.

Engine Oil Level

To check the engine oil level put the machine on a level surface and stop the engine. Remove engine oil dipstick and wipe clean with a cloth. Replace dipstick in tube and push the engine oil dipstick completely DOWN and then remove. If the oil level is below the ADD mark, add oil to raise the oil level to the FULL mark.

Engine Oil Change and Filter Replacement

Change the engine oil and replace the filter after every 500 hours of operation or once a year whichever occurs first. NOTE: For more complete removal of foreign material, change the engine oil while the engine is still warm from operation.

IMPORTANT: You must shorten the oil change interval if you use diesel fuel with a sulphur content of more than 0.5%. Change the engine oil more frequently when the engine operating conditions are severe (frequent stopping and starting and high or low engine temperatures.) 1.Before draining the oil, have a container that will hold at least 22.7 liters (6 US gallons). 2.Remove the engine oil drain plug. 3.Open the rear engine access doors. IMPORTANT: Do not use a filter strap wrench to install the oil filter. An oil filter strap wrench can cause a leak if the filter is dented. 8.Install the drain plug. 9.See Engine Lubrication in this manual for the correct type and quantity of oil. Put new oil into the engine.

4.Turn the oil filter counterclockwise to remove. Discard the oil filter.

5.Use a clean cloth and wipe the sealing surface of the oil filter base to remove all dirt. 6.Apply a thin layer of clean grease or oil to the gasket of the new oil filter. 7.Turn the new oil filter onto the base until the gasket makes contact with the base. Continue to tighten the filter for 3/4 turn with your hand.

10.Start the engine and run at idle speed. Check the engine oil filter for leaks. After two minutes, stop the engine, wait for 2 or 3 minutes, and check the engine oil level with the dipstick. 11.Close the engine access doors.

Systemgard Lubrication Analysis Program

The normal engine oil change interval is every 500 hours of operation or once a year whichever occurs first. Operating conditions, quality of the engine oil and sulphur content of the fuel can change this interval. It is recommended to use the Systemgard Lubrication Analysis Program. See your dealer.

WARNING: Never drain oil or remove oil filter while engine is running.

WARNING: Replace all covers or guards after servicing or cleaning the machine. NEVER operate the machine with covers or guards removed.
