WHEELS AND TIRES
WARNING: Exploding tires and/or rim parts can cause injury or death. Keep yourself and others out of the DANGER AREA. Stand on the tread side of the tire. Always use the correct air pressure and follow the instructions in this manual for adding air or servicing the tires.
WARNING: Explosive separation of the tire and/or rim parts can cause injury or death. When tire service is necessary, have a qualified tire mechanic service the tire.
WARNING: DO NOT weld to wheel or rim when a tire is installed. Welding will cause an explosive air/gas mixture that will be ignited with high temperatures. This can happen to tires inflated or deflated. Removing air or breaking bead is not adequate. Tire MUST be completely removed from the rim prior to welding.

BALLAST
It is the recommendation of the Case, LLC. NOT to add Ballast to the tires of your machine. Make sure tires are properly inflated. See the Tire Chart on page 143 of this manual.
B910410J The above illustration show danger areas caused by exploding tires and/or rim parts. KEEP YOURSELF AND OTHERS OUT OF THESE DANGER AREAS. The next page shows the correct methods that you MUST use when adding air or servicing a tire.
Adding Air to the Tires
This procedure is only for adding air to the tire. If the tire has lost most or all of the air, do the following. 1.Before you add air, have the wheel correctly installed on the machine or put the wheel in a restraining device (tire inflation cage).

2.Use an air hose with remote shutoff valve and a self-locking air chuck. 3.Stand BEHIND the tread of the tire and make sure ALL persons are away from the side of the tire before you start to add air.
B4039288T 4.Inflate the tire to the recommended air pressure. DO NOT inflate the tire more than the recommended pressure given on the following page.
Tire or Rim Service
Always have a qualified tire mechanic service the tires and rims for this machine. It is recommended that you have this mechanic inflate the tires. To prevent accidents, use a restraining device (tire inflation cage), correct equipment, and correct procedure. Explosive separation of the tire (single piece rim) or the tire and/or rim parts (multi-piece rim) can cause serious injury or death.
Tire Tread Direction
When the tire is installed on the wheel make sure the tire tread is in the direction shown.

Wheel Bolt Torque
Check the torque of the wheel bolts after every 20 hours of operation until the wheel bolts stay tight, if the machine is new or if a wheel has been removed and installed. If a wheel is removed from the machine and installed, tighten the bolts using the sequence shown. First tighten the bolts to 298 Nm (220 pound-feet), then to a final torque of 640 to 720 Nm (475 to 530 pound-feet) in the same sequence. Bolts are M22 - 1.5, GR. 10.9
