LIFTING THE MACHINE WITH A CRANE
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS Daily Inspection
Do the following items each day before you start the engine. 1. Check for leaks under the machine.
Repair all leaks and clean the area with solvent or soap and water using a pressure washer. 2. Check the tires for damage. 3. Check for broken, damaged, loose, or missing parts. Replace, tighten, or adjust as required before you operate the machine. 4. Clean all debris from the machine, especially around the engine and radiator. 5. Clean or replace any safety decal or instructional decals that cannot be read. 6. Clean the hand rails, steps, and operators compartment. Make sure all loose items are removed from the machine. 7. See the maintenance charts in this manual. Complete the items in the section marked Every 10 Hours of
Operation. NOTE: If this is a new machine, or a machine with a new or rebuilt engine, see Run-In Period in this manual.
Starting The Engine
WARNING: Before you start the engine, read and understand the operators manual and the safety decals for this machine. ALWAYS fasten the seat belt and pull seat bar down. Make sure all other persons in the area are away from the machine. SC004
WARNING: Before starting the engine, study operators manual safety messages. Read all safety signs on machine. Clear the area of other persons. Learn and practice safe use of controls before operation. It is your responsibility to understand and follow manufacturers instructions on machine operation, service, and to observe pertinent laws and regulations. 1. Adjust the seat and fasten the seat belt. 2. Pull the seat bar down. 3. Warn all persons in the area that you are going to start the engine. 4. Push the throttle forward about one inch (25 mm). NOTE: If the weather is cold, see Operating In Cold Weather in this manual for starting aids. 5. Push in the engine stop control if it is engaged (1825 Only). 6. Turn the key clockwise to Glow Plug position. You will hear the glow plug solenoid click and see the indicator lamp illuminate. Continued on next page
