DIAGNOSTIC SERVICE CODES Service Codes List Figure218
The error codes will be displayed on the instrument panel as a flashing light sequences on icon (Item 1) [Figure218].
See the following chart for the codes, the conditions and the flashing sequence.
Flash Examples: (4) 4 long flashes, (4-1) four long flashes followed by one short flash, (4-4) four long flashes followed by four short flash.

1-3 EGR valve failure Low status is detected even though port is off.
1-4 CSD solenoid valve failure High status is detected even though port is on. High status is detected even though port is off. Low status is detected even though port is on.
1-5 Air heater relay failure High status is detected even though port is off.
1-6 Main relay failure Low status is detected even though port is on. Power is not shut off even though main relay is off. Last value is retained. Backup sensor becomes active. Correct failure.

1-9 Atmospheric pressure sensor failure 2-1 Oil pressure switch failure 2-2 Charge switch failure Low status is detected even though port is off. High status is detected even though port is on. Sensor voltage is 4.6V or more, or 0.2V or less.
Sensor voltage is 4.6V or more, or 0.2V or less. Engine stops. Turn key OFF.
Engine continues to run while main accelerator sensor is used. Main accelerator sensor failure: Engine runs at 1500 RPM. (Option can change) Atmospheric pressure compensation is canceled. Correct failure.
Turn key OFF.
Oil pressure switch fails to turn on when engine is off. Charge switch fails to turn on when engine is off. Engine runs normally. (Option can change)Turn key OFF. Engine runs normally. Turn key OFF.
2-3 Power supply voltage abnormal E-ECU supply voltage exceeds 10.0V. E-ECU supply voltage exceeds 16.0V. Engine runs normally. Correct failure.
2-4 Sensor 5V failure Monitoring voltage is approx. 0 V.Engine runs normally. Turn key Monitoring voltage is 4.5 V or less. OFF. Monitoring voltage is 5.5 V or more.
2-5 E-ECU overheat alarm E-ECU temperature exceeds 105°C. Alarm is canceled when E-ECU temperature decreases to 100°C. (option can change)

Map format is invalid. Engine stops. Turn key OFF.
Sensor voltage is 4.6V or more, or 1.0V or less. Engine runs normally. Correct failure.
When detecting these failures, the E-ECU (Engine control unit) flashes the engine check lamp to alert the operator to the occurrence of failure conditions. The engine check lamp will illuminate for 2 sec. when the E-ECU is power on. This allows checking if the E-ECU is supplied with power normally.
Flashing patterns of the engine check lamp are shown in [Figure218]. When accelerator sensor failure (flashing 5 time) and EGR valve failure (flashing 1-3 times) occur, the engine check lamp flashes as shown in [Figure218]. When two or more failures have occurred simultaneously, the engine check lamp scrolls through all the failure modes, then repeats.
