Environmental pollution is the burning issue of the world. Nowadays, the modern way of funeral method also causes environmental pollution. Death is something everyone has to face, however, even after the breath is being taken away from us, we still do things that will harm our environment. This project creates a new concept of the cemetery through the Recompose method which converts the body remains into the soil, the objective is to make the funeral environmental friendly and keeps the original spiritual and emotional meaning of the traditional funeral at the same time. This space offers living people do the final farewell to their love ones and used those soil to cultivate the plants in the garden of rebirth by themselves. The whole space through borrow nice nature scenery to bring a psychology journey for living relatives that offers people to memorize past, to find out the meaning of life and death and offer spiritual sustenance and hopes for the living.

The site is located in Mandai crematorium that is nearby Central Catchment Nature Reserve and is a part of Yi Shun Nature Way. This area is far away from the downtown area, with a good ecological environment, therefore, you can see the monkeys and other varieties of species here.
Flourishing jungle around here with an excellent nature view and a water body in the lowest area.

After converts the body into the soil that provides nutrients for plants. I would like to choose nectar plants and fruiter that will attract animals coming and live in here. Therefore, they are able to return to the earth and join the ecological cycles. The deceased will return back to the earth in the other way and contribute to environmental protection. It’s eternity in a sense.

For thousands of years, funerals have been meaning for expressing our beliefs, thoughts, and the feeling about the death of someone we love. This area is not only for the deceased but also a psychology journey for the living relatives.

The form of my design inspired by the circle. Death is not just only an end but also a new beginning. And the circle is also like this, any point can be the starting point or the ending point.

The death of relatives and friends is an indelible scar. I hope this space can break people’s impression of the traditional cemetery. When people think about it, it’s not only the pain, but also the warmth and hope. Death is not the opposite of life, but a continuation of it.

There is a huge acrylic water pool in the center and m using the mirror finish stainless steel as the shelter material for the Immaterial entities effect. Those inds of materials will reflect the surrounding bamboos. This space allows the people to recall memories of the past.
After entering the entrance, people will go through the garden of death which is a bamboo forest. when the sun shines on the bamboo leaves, it will cast a beautiful shadow. When the wind blows over the bamboo tree or animals’ activities, the bamboo will swing and makes a slight sound. It’s a very long corridor for people to calm down and prepare the last farewell.

A lot of vertical and horizontal lines are used in the whole space to create frame. The sun will shine in from the side and leads people’s sight to the huge windows. The window act as a frame to frame the view of deceased and nature together.
This space expresses the cycle of death to the ne t stage. ust li e the flowering plants here, they bloom and bear fruit, then wither and return to the land for fertilizer. Whether it’s plants or people, life goes through the same cycle.

In this area, people can see the opposite land symbolising hope, it’s just like another starting point of life and it bring hope to us. The cover will block a part of sight to force people loo ing to the water that reflect the surrounding environment.
This is a lively garden where all life gathers around and make life a meaningful new chapter. I am using limestone for the road material as a metaphor of tracing time, stone is going to change, but life is keep going on.

Lack of connection or communication with others will result in isolation and loneliness, which will affect health. In this project, the target audience is gamers. There is a positive correlation between gaming hours and social phobia from research. Those people fear of having eye contact and talking to strangers, which leads them to have poor social skills and turn into social isolation. They feel more comfortable sharing personal information online than face to face. Hence, I had an idea to change the game from online to offline, to balance the real and virtual in a public space. All types of video game console are selling either the digital games online or game cards in the shop. In Singapore, most of the people use Carousel to buy secondhand games or trade them. However, it is not that convenient and secure, because nobody wants to find a space to play with a stranger and check if the game card is unwounded. This project offers a space for people to exchange game cards and using card exchange as the stepping stone to attract gamers to go out at the same time, which will encourage them to establish social connection.

Hence, I was thinking about how to change the game from online to offline and how to balance the real and virtual world in public space. Marina barrage is an iconic site for Singapore as it plays an important role in our daily needs in water. Despite being iconic and near to the gardens by the bay, a tourist attraction area, the designs of the bridge does not attract many people. Over the years, urbanization had separated nature and humans, where they used to be united. Hence this this project is to design the linkage where it allows people to get a sense of touch of nature in this urbanized city. The reasons for the chosen site is due to realizing that this bridge was transformed from nature due to urbanization, hence It would be better to return this back into the nature yet allowing it to function what it should be. By doing this it does not act as just the linkage for humans to walk through, but allows human to feel the nature, a place where the wildlife could feel home. With this it allows one to reconsider the relations between nature and human.

Singapore is one of the most urbanized countries in the world, particularly since its independence from the British Colony in 1965. The urbanization also linked with rapid industrialization, so during that time the government focuses on providing enough public housing and providing employment opportunities for the people. This led to priorities on urban developments that are not protected nature and natural habitats that leads to Singapore losing 90 percent of its original forests today.

Since the 1960s, the government had planned to transform Singapore into a garden city. Until the late 1990s, the government takes immediate and basic measures to help protect the environment. However, Singapore is densely urbanized with a concrete jungle, so the land is limited.

The purpose of the design is to create a juxtaposition space that coexistence humans and wildlife. It’s is to design a space where it allows people to get a sense of touch nature in the city, is also a refle ive pro ect for human. This design will make a big contrast between the current situation and future at Marina Barrage thus inspiring tourists to consider Why now humans and nature cannot live in harmony li e before, what changes their relationship, and how to protect animals provide more activities space for them.
For this project, it is to design the linkage where it allows people to get a sense of touch of nature in this urbanized city, in the meantime provide for wildlife. The Barrage is not just an engineering masterpiece, but double as an ecological pvark that directs people towards nature and at the same time provided an ecological environment where animals can become more involved.

The barrage can be separated into two areas, the top is the shelter and pathway for people to cross. There are 8 shelters on the barrage, below the shelter is the base of the barrage, in between are gate, that can open and close to control the water flow.

Since Marina Barrage is an important structure in Singapore and is an important role in our life, the existing function of the barrage must be maintained. This is why I supposed to bring in the consideration of designing the project without touching the structure under the water. As the new design will be taken wider space with a heavier weight than the e isting barrage, so the floating structure will be used in these parts to lighten the pressure on the barrage pier, at the same time using anchors secured on the lake bottom.

In the middle of the amphitheater, there will be a garden where there are seats provided for people to rest on, through the greenery and the natural to give a space of relaxation. At the same

time, there are voids in the middle, where people can look down to see the barrage system, people then can see how this barrage can be work with the water supply and the flood control between the Marina Reservoir and the sea. It provides a new kind of experience and visual enjoyment while watching the water flood created when opening the gate of the barrage.
Rain Garden
The rain garden is the center of the whole barrage. The rain garden will collect and filter the rainwater, provide the source of water for the plants on the bridges at the same time provide the environment for the wildlife. It is to bring the visitors a different kind of experience.
Model
At the lowest level of the barrage, which is just the same as the water level, I have designed a bigger platform. These platforms are with the willing started from 30cm high, so the seawater can enter through this 30cm height gap, and it allows people to step in water during the low tide, to get in touch with water. The otters and fishes can enter through these gaps inside the marina barrage, where connected to the rain garden on the top, through the water elevator, you will be able to see otters in the rain garden too.

Entwine is a linear stretch design at the level 5 invisible boundary, that provides diverse reading space programs and community activities. This space targets the residents, especially the elderlies to promote book reading, proven beneficial for their health mentally and physically, as well creates an interaction between residents of two different residential blocks. Entwine space design is derived from the bookmark ribbon concept, where it connects and joins a book, “pausing and resuming the reading at the spot”. The design connects directly to the circulation points, where it will lead to a series of different reading programs such as private reading, sharing experiences, donation of books, etc.

Circulation between floors is decreasing from first to fifth, where the first floor has the fastest and heaviest circulation.
Bras Basah complex has book shops on each level but the 4th level has the heaviest amount of book shops, which made book readers and buyers, families, to hunt for books.
Accessibility in Bras Basash complex only allows first to fourth level access through escalator, (commercial). Residential blocks access only through the lift to certain floor levels such as:6, 10, 15, 20, 24. the rest access is through staircases. This causes some elderly & disabled living in the complex to be unable to access the level 5 deck and experience books in Bras Basah.

Site Photo Surrounded by buildings of various typologies and different purposes, Bras Basah Complex is very distinctive within the vicinity of the bustling district due to its old facade and multi-uses. Compared to the existing conserved buildings like the Raffles hotel, St Josephs Church, these buildings are doing moderately well, unlike Bras Basah Complex. Even though there is a dwindling in demand for books, the complex is doing fine in catering to the needs of the surrounding institutions with art supplies and printing services.

Data from site analysis shows that the shops facing the void space are mostly closed on the weekend, making the corridors lifeless. Whereas on weekdays the shop life pours onto the corridor, extending from what is inside the shop. While the book city serves most users commercially, resident users such as elderlies are missing out on the opportunity to experience and getting easier access to books that will help them improve mentally and physically.

Bras Basah complex did not provide spaces that slows down the circulation and allow users to enjoy.
BBC has been in fame last 2 decades, and now is losing recognition due to failing in keeping with trend and current human needs. Lack of new experience to bring users in.
There are too few seatings provided o the BBC to allow users to take a short break and stop. Users tend to read books on level 5 floor where slow circulation and seating is provided.

0 6 14m 2 The private zone is divided into 2 spaces: private shared and private working area. these spaces provide residents courtyards on both areas, where they can do morning exercises, picnics, and meditations outdoors, as part of their daily lifestyle. While inside the shelters, private reading spaces are provided.

Active Reading Zone has a mix of activities + reading combined activities.
Sharing Space has an amphitheater built into space, allowing residents to share stories, group gatherings, and interaction. The design is allowing natural light and wind to pass through easily, to create a sense of relaxation and open space similar to that of a play stage. The softscapes are also twisting and turning into the wooden decking, creating a better feel of nature.
The Donation of books has a unique wooden decking roof design where it has a variant of gaps in between each wood that will provide a natural spotlight towards each aisle of donated books, show casing an open space books gallery.

Project Year: 2018 practice of apartment landscape design
The inspiration for this project Living spaces, mostly most people will have their stressful time from their work or school, so we would want to create an environment of pleasant and coming to enhance their healthy living while they coming back home. The side problem as the existing building is too rigid and the sense of imprisonment upon entering the compound. Aim to expand home scape, transforming the common ground spaces with an extravagant variety of activities. Inviting public interaction and exploration also encourage residents to socialize and unwind.

With the Implementation of the 5 senses into its landscape design, the qualities of touch, smell, hearing, sight, and taste would help the residents envision their individual needs for leisure space, to suit the needs for the different levels of relaxation within the compound. While the resident visiting or exploring the garden, inadvertently the five senses of the garden have already designed into there daily walkway while they are walking home.

Entrance Begin rewinding right at the entrance of the residence, welcoming you with a cascading waterfall, capturing attention with sun glitters, formed when sunlight reflects from water waves. By using the sensory quality of hearing, allowing the residents to adopt the sense of hearing upon coming home by having to listen to the sound of the water cascading. The play of different heights and topography on the water cascade allows the users to experience the waterfall from a distance like a silent white stream cascading over the rocky outcrops. The deafening roar of the water generated would increase steadily as they walk closer.

Project Year: 2018 Location: Singapore River, Fullerton
The loops is a landscape architecture project located at Fullerton, Singapore. The design is meant to create a new experience to space by having a threedimensional effect using variations of depth and different directions. Focusing on the development of the Singapore River. The loops embark on the exploration of wave-like design which gradually forms into infinity loops.

In 1979, the government embarked on further land reclamation works in the area. This reclamation project created Marina East and Marina South, which, together with Marina Centre, formed a 660-hectare reclaimed site called Marina City. By 1984, plans had been put in place for further reclamation works that would create the shore profile of Marina Bay as we know it today.

Inspired by the infinity sign as the representation that water in this world is infinite and always connected.
Connecting a few infinity signs to create loops and extend the design.
Adjusting the loops design to the proposed area and minimizing the use of circle.
Minimizing the design by removing some unnecessary circles, but still keeping the concept of joining loops.
