As we prepare to host our 4th Annual Sale, we welcome the opportunity to reflect on our achievements and reassess our goals.
Since Murgona Cattle Co. was established in 2010, our mission has remained consistent - to breed profitable, functional cattle by balancing fertility and performance.
In recent years, we’ve seen a clear upward trend in key performance traits such as Average Daily Gain, Eye Muscle Area, and Intramuscular Fat and this year’s offering is no exception. However, we understand that selecting for performance alone can be short-sighted. That’s why we continue to place strong emphasis on fertility, closely monitoring both Sire and Dam lines. This balanced approach helps ensure genetic strength across our herd, giving you added confidence that these bulls will positively impact your program.
As you’ll see throughout this catalogue and in the accompanying Supplementary Sheet, we remain committed to providing accurate, detailed information to support your selection process. This includes comprehensive Dam Notes, the result of years of closely monitoring our calving females. We also encourage you to explore the in-depth Sire and Dam profiles, and additional information available on our website.
Over the past 12 months, we’ve continued to embrace innovation while maintaining a commonsense, feet-on-the-ground approach to production at “Burradoo.” We’ve successfully executed four IVF programs, resulting in 215 genetically elite embryos, well above our 150 embryo target. We’ve also continued toward our goal of full herd DNA profiling and have once again 50K tested all bulls catalogued for your convenience.
In another exciting development, we are proud to announce our exclusive partnership with Nutrien Ag Solutions. The Nutrien team’s professionalism and passion align strongly with our values and direction, and we are thrilled to welcome them as part of the extended Murgona team.
Thank you for your interest and support. We look forward to seeing you at the sale.
Warm regards,
DANIEL, KASEY, TAYLOR & BRIAN

RAW DATA
We believe the Santa Gertrudis breed is uniquely suited to all Australian markets — whether you’re turning off weaners, feeders, grass or grain-fed bullocks, or capitalising on the feeder heifer, grass finishing, or fat/ cull cow markets. With versatility in mind, this year we’ve included mature cow weights in our female comments and provided both weaning and yearling weights for every lot. Given the age variation among bulls, weights can differ significantly — so we’ve also printed each bull’s age alongside their weights to ensure meaningful comparisons can be made. The following supplementary information will be available 5 days before the sale; Weight, Daily Weight Gain (DWG is calculated with 32kg deducted for average birth weight), Eye Muscle Area, Rib & Rump Fat, Intramuscular Fat (David Reid), Scrotal Circumference and Crush Side Motility (Ced Wise AB Services) & Semen Morphology (Rocky Repro).
DNA TESTING
All sale bulls have been 50K DNA tested by Neogen Australasia as part of our ongoing quality assurance program. This is not a shift in our management approach, but a complementary tool to support accuracy and transparency. DNA testing will never replace our close supervision of the herd or the mothering-up process we rely on to ensure accurate birthdates and, in turn, reliable raw data. Bulls identified as Homozygous Poll through HornPoll testing will be clearly marked in the catalogue. Case numbers for individual purchases are available upon request and can also be accessed via the Santa Gertrudis Australia website.
TRANSPORT
Free on-property delivery is available within a 150km radius of Taroom as well as to Dalby, Roma, Surat, St George, Charleville and Emerald Saleyards. Vendors are happy to consider other arrangements to suit individual circumstances. All delivery instructions must be provided in writing and signed by the buyer or their representative. While every care is taken, bulls are held and delivered at the purchaser’s risk. We strongly recommend insuring your purchases.
REBATE
A 3% rebate will be offered to outside agents who introduce their client in writing at least 48 hours prior to the sale, accompany them to the sale, and settle on their behalf within 7 days of the sale. No rebate will be paid on bulls purchased by members of the Santa Gertrudis Breeders Association.

DISCLAIMER
While every effort has been made to ensure the accuracy of this catalogue and supplementary information, no responsibility is accepted for any errors or omissions. All livestock will be sold under the “Standard Stud Stock Terms & Conditions” found at the back of this catalogue. Attendance at the sale is entirely at your own risk. The vendors, agents, Banana Shire Council, Taroom Show Society, and their representatives accept no responsibility or liability for any injury, loss, or damage that may occur.

One of the greatest challenges in seedstock production is time. There are no shortcuts to building genetic depth and consistency, it takes years of careful selection, disciplined breeding, and a deep understanding of livestock to shape a truly reliable herd. So, when the opportunity arose to purchase a line of classified Santa Gertrudis females, with pedigrees tracing back to the early 1980s, well before either of us were bornwe didn’t hesitate.
The acquisition of the majority of Greg Kroll’s renowned Oakdale stud females marks a significant milestone for Murgona. We are both humbled and grateful to have been entrusted with decades of breeding from a herd built on consistency, maternal strength, and quiet determination. It is a responsibility we don’t take lightly. These females now form an important part of our future, and we are proud to continue their story within our own program.
Greg’s name has long been synonymous with Santa Gertrudis cattle. His dedication, showmanship, and commitment to the breed over more than 40 years has left a lasting impression on the industry.
Recognition such as the ‘Rural Times Top Showman Award’ reflects not just a passion, but pride in his cattle and an eye for phenotype.
Together with his brother Neil, Greg invested heavily in elite genetics during Oakdale’s formative years. Their early commitment is reflected in a series of significant purchases. These include the landmark acquisition of Yarrawonga Purdy, with a bull calf at foot, for the then Australian Record Female Price of $17,000 in 1983. This was followed by Cumberland Daffy, purchased for $11,000 at the inaugural Big S Group Santa Gertrudis Female Futurity in 1990, and Robenlea Ruffle, who topped the 1992 Robenlea Sale at $11,500. Greg continued to introduce fresh genetics to his herd over the years, sourcing
females from respected studs while remaining focused on what mattered most: functional, maternal cows with sound udders - a principle no doubt shaped by his background in the dairy industry. It’s a legacy of practicality and purpose that aligns perfectly with our own values, and one we’re proud to carry forward. Having observed the Oakdale females across multiple seasons, we’ve come to truly appreciate their consistency, contribution and constitution. Several were originally acquired by Daniel’s parents through the Heartland Santa Gertrudis Sale, including standout female Oakdale Jane 948 (P). From the outset, we recognised her potential and eventually purchased her outright. Jane has become a cornerstone of our breeding program, producing 8 natural calves, delivering 4 exceptional calves via MOET, and is PTIC again. Two of her sons have been retained in the family’s commercial herd, while another two sold through the ring for $32,000 and $14,000. Her son, Murgona Reginald (P), drew significant attention on the 2024 show circuit, and while an injury prevented his sale, we remain hopeful he will join our Sire Battery in the near future. Jane’s influence continues in this year’s catalogue as the dam of Lot 21. Also featured are Oakdale Ovaltine 2098 (PS), represented by her son, Lot 2, and Oakdale Odette 2070 (P), dam of Lot 33 - each a testament to the depth and value of the Oakdale breeding program and evidence of Oakdale genetics performing within the Murgona herd. We’re excited to share the next chapter of these genetics with you, as the influence of the Oakdale females becomes increasingly evident in our future sale teams.
As Greg takes a well-earned step back from the ever-demanding seedstock industry, we extend our warmest wishes and look forward to continuing our connection through his retained share in Oakdale Olga 2074 (P).

REFERENCE SIRES
YARRAWONGA QUAKE Q990 (ET) (PP)
Purchased in 2021 for $55,000, Yarrawonga Quake (PP) is a standout sire combining performance, phenotype, and pedigree. A Homozygous Poll bull with a tidy underline, smooth coat, excellent temperament, and impressive width and muscle pattern, Quake (PP) ticks nearly every box in our breeding criteria. His raw data is equally compelling — weighing 1010kgs, with a 155cm EMA (the largest in the 2021 Yarrawonga offering), 41cm scrotal circumference, and 90% semen morphology at 28 months of age. His dam, Yarrawonga G23 (ET)(P), is an exceptional breeder with 34 registered progeny — 30 of which have classified and 6 sold into stud herds. Quake (PP) is proving to be a highly fertile and prolific breeder. In his first season, he was single-sired to 50 females, returning a 98% conception rate. His progeny are typically born small and grow out quickly. Demonstrating both the consistency and quality of his offspring, Quake’s first crop of sons was offered in 2024, with 15 bulls achieving a 100% clearance and averaging $18,733. Lots 10, 11, 12, 13, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31, 32, 33

DIAMOND H PENTHOUSE P239 (PP)
Penthouse (PP) was purchased for the top-price at the 2013 Diamond H Sale. A bull who consistently bred better than himself, Penthouse (PP) could be credited with putting Murgona on the map. His first sons sold in 2016 for an impressive average of $11,562—well above the benchmark at the time. Over five years, 23 natural sons were sold through the ring, grossing $243,000. We retained a standout son, Murgona Legend (PP), who is currently shaping our herd. Penthouse’s legacy continues today through AI and IVF programs. In 2024, two ET sons sold for $16,000 and $25,000 respectively, underscoring the
enduring strength of his genetics. An exceptionally long bull with undeniable sire appeal, Penthouse (PP) weighed over 1,350kgs in his prime. He was admired for his smooth tropical coat, loose skin, strong head, and his breed character. A daughter, Murgona Impress (P), was crowned Grand Champion Santa Gertrudis Female at Beef Australia 2018—further proof of his ability to produce elite animals. Penthouse (PP) was culled at 9 years of age after sustaining injuries fighting. Even then, he curfewed 1,050kgs and sold for $3,360 at the Dalby Saleyards. Penthouse’s impact on our herd will be felt for generations. Lots 34, 36, 37, 38

REFERENCE SIRES
MURGONA
LEGEND L34 (PP)
Murgona Legend (PP) is unquestionably our leading sire. A son of the highly regarded Diamond H Penthouse (PP), Legend (PP) was the first homebred bull we ever retained—and for good reason. He exemplified everything we aim to produce: a strong, masculine head, homozygous poll genetics, exceptional muscling, breed character, and strong bone. His EMA of 152cm² was elite, and his overall constitution, quiet temperament, dark tropical coat, and large testicles further set him apart. Legend (PP) was our heaviest weaner in 2018 at 430kg and posted an impressive daily weight gain of 1.39kg at two years of age. Tragically, 2024 saw his final natural progeny offered after his unexpected passing. However, his superior genetic line lives on through our AI and IVF programs. The consistency and quality of Legend’s progeny—male and female—continue to exceed our expectations. His daughter, Murgona Queen Bee (P), was crowned Interbreed Grand Champion Female at Beef Australia 2024. Queen Bee (P) also led a trio of Legend (PP) progeny to win the Santa Gertrudis Progeny Stakes. At the 2025 Sydney Royal Santa Gertrudis Feature Show, Legend (PP) again sired the winning Sires Progeny Stakes team, which included Intermediate & Junior Champion Female Murgona Stellar (IVF)(PP). Stellar also secured Junior & Grand Champion Bos Indicus Female at the Taroom Show in 2025. Over three years, 15 of Legend’s sons have sold through the ring for an average of $14,400. Lots 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9

REFERENCE SIRES
WACO QUEENSLANDER Q384 (PS)
Queenslander (PS) sold to Yulgilbar Santa Gertrudis for a national breed record of $110,000 at the 2020 Yarrawonga Waco Sale. He caught our attention on sale day, earning three ticks in the catalogue. A son of renowned Waco Addictive (PS), he boasted figures of 940kgs, 1.24 DWG, 10/8 fat scans, 140cm² EMA, and a 41cm scrotal circumference at just 23 months. As a mature sire, Queenslander’s length, clean sheath, good bone and strong topline are all still apparent. To date, 69 of his progeny are registered across both Yulgilbar and Murgona herds. We are particularly pleased with the five soft, feminine, quiet heifers produced from the

IVF joining of Queenslander (PS) to Murgona Hanah H14 and suspect they will have a lasting impact on our program. Lot 35
CARDONA PATTERSON P53 (P)
Yulgilbar purchased Patterson (P) at the 2016 Cardona & Canowindra Sale for a recordbreaking $52,500. Since then, he has not only become Yulgilbar’s leading sire but a household name within the Australian Santa Gertrudis industry, with 238 progeny registered across 16 different studs. His sons have consistently dominated the Yulgilbar Santa Sale as sale toppers, including $45,000 for Yulgilbar Royalty (PP), $80,000 for Yulgilbar Springsteen (PP), and $34,000 for Yulgilbar Titanic (PP) over three consecutive years. We were thrilled to introduce Patterson (P) into our program through IVF, selecting him for his proven

performance, outstanding depth, volume, sire appeal, and strong breed character — all strongly supported by his exceptional longevity. With strong EBVs for growth and carcase traits, Patterson (P) continues to inspire buyer confidence and remains a benchmark sire in the breed. Lots 39, 40
FUTURe sire
Raider (P) is a young sire of special interest in the Murgona herd, combining strong phenotype with proven performance. He enjoyed an impressive show career, being named Junior and Grand Champion Santa Gertrudis Bull at BEEF Australia 2024 and Interbreed Grand Champion Male at Wandoan Show the same year. After being joined to 50 females for 2 months over summer, Raider (P) returned to the show circuit in 2025 where he won Supreme Champion Interbreed Bull at Miles Show. A standout since birth, Raider (P) is backed by a highly productive dam and displays the balance of fat cover and muscle that judge Erica Halliday described at BEEF as “a game changer.” At 24 months of age, Raider (P) posted the following performance figures; weight 1005kgs, daily weight gain 1.31kgs/day, EMA 144 cm², fats 16/12 mm, SC
REFERENCE SIRES
WACO SONNY BILL S94 (P)

Sonny Bill (P) was our pick at the 2022 Waco Sale. His presence, mobility, dark coat, strong topline, and impressive figures made him impossible to overlook. At 26 months, he recorded an EMA of 152cm², fat depths of 16 and 12mm, a scrotal circumference of 40cm, and a weight of 962kg — the heaviest in the sale. Introducing fresh bloodlines to our herd through his sire, Waco Falcon (P), and dam’s sire, Yarrawonga Apache (ET)(PS), Sonny Bill (P) is breeding true to type. His sons consistently carry his presence and strength of spine, while his daughters may well be his legacy. Despite his power, we are especially pleased with the femininity and volume of his females. A prime example is Murgona Sovereignty (P) who exemplifies the thickness and femininity we are seeing in his daughters. Sovereignty (P) was calf at foot of the ’24 BEEF Interbreed Grand Champion Female and Sydney Royal Santa Gertrudis Feature Show Reserve Calf Champion Female. Lots 3, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 23, 26
DOORABEEBA RUGER R62 (PS)
Purchased by RJ & LK Phillips for $20,000 at the Inaugural Murgona Santa Gertrudis Invitation Sale, Ruger (PS) went straight to work in their “Horse Creek” herd. There he was joined to Oakdale Ovaltine 2098 (PS), resulting in Murgona Shrek. A clean-sheathed, large-framed bull, Ruger (PS) is the product of a fertile Doorabeeba cow and $22,000 Hardigreen Park Universe (P) — a combination that brings both structural appeal and strong genetic backing. At 25 months of age, Ruger (PS) weighed 976kgs, gained 1.23kg/day, scanned with an EMA of 131cm², fats of 26/15mm, IMF of 5.4%, and had a scrotal circumference of 44cm. Ruger (PS) is a young sire combining scale, softness, and mobility. Lot 2
DUNLOP WASSIM S404 (P)
We were drawn to Wassim (P) at the 2022 Dunlop Sale for his exceptional fat figures and his pedigree. His sire, Diamond H Vegemite V158 (PS), is producing the type of bull we admire, and we were keen to secure a son. Wassim (P) was hard to fault — with balanced figures of 790kgs, a daily weight gain of 1.11kg, 12/11 fat scans, 5.0 IMF, and a 37cm scrotal circumference. These coupled with his smooth shoulders, masculine head, and classic Santa Gertrudis colouring, made us eager to introduce him into our program. Midway through his first season Wassim (P) succumbed to injury. Therefore, this will be his only crop of calves offered. Lots 22, 24, 25
43cm. Beyond the numbers, Raider impresses with his soft, loose cherry-red coat, faultless structure, strong poll head, and impeccable temperament. To date, three in utero IVF embryos sired by Raider have sold for a total of $30,000, and early progeny like Murgona Treasure (P) are already showing signs of his softness and constitution. We eagerly await Raider’s first natural drop this spring.

Hanah is a 12-year-old cow who has made an exceptional contribution to our breeding program, having produced seven outstanding natural calves and 65 embryos to date. Of these, all six of her natural sons have been classified and sold through the ring for an average of $16,250, generating a total gross revenue of $97,500. Among them, Murgona Rex (P) was acquired by Dangarfield Santa Gertrudis in 2024 to perform stud duties. Hanah’s legacy extends to her daughters as well. Her first daughter has been retained in our commercial herd, while an IVF daughter, Murgona Stellar S69 (IVF)(P), has distinguished herself in the show ring. Bred from the esteemed pairing of Hanah and Murgona Legend (PP), Stellar has enjoyed an exceptional show career to date. Her achievements began with being named Champion Female at the 2025 Santa Gertrudis National Youth Camp. She continued her winning form at the Sydney Royal Santa Gertrudis Feature Show, where she was celebrated for her depth, softness, and femininity, securing both Intermediate Champion Female and Junior Champion Female titles. At the Taroom Show, Stellar earned

PADDOCK
high praise from judges Mac and Gayle Shann, being awarded Junior Champion Bos Indicus Female before going on to ultimately claim the title of Grand Champion Bos Indicus Female. A prolific milker with remarkable length and strong bone structure, it’s a combination of Hanah’s fertility, but also the quality and consistency of her offspring, alongside her impressive pedigree, that make her an elite female in our eyes. Her grand-dam, Murgona Delight D27, one of our foundation females, produced eight calves in eight years, and her pedigree continues to be a cornerstone of our show and sale teams today. Every one of Delight’s eight offspring classified, and all five of her daughters remain productive within the stud. Further details about Delight, as well as another of her daughters, Murgona Felicia

F55, are available on our website. The pairing of Hanah with Murgona Legend (PP), which is available for selection, has consistently produced exceptional results, as demonstrated by the success of Murgona Quantum (P) and Murgona Ponting (PS). Both calves achieved impressive weaning weights of 422 kgs at 259 and 264 days, respectively, with Average Life Gains of 1.33kg/day and 1.30kg/day as two-year-olds. Hanah is not typically known for producing females naturally, therefore it was fitting that the first IVF calf ever born at “Burradoo” was Stellar S69 (IVF)(P), mentioned above. She is already proving to be an exceptional start to what promises to be a remarkable legacy, which you now have the opportunity to be a part of.

PICK OF THE (PS)
Daughter of the esteemed Kabunga H53 (P), maternal sister to the renowned Murgona Legend (PP), and dam of the exceptional Murgona Queen Bee Q53 (P), Nutmeg (PS) is certainly in excellent company. A young, large-framed daughter of Yarrawonga Jupiter (P), Nutmeg possesses a strong topline, substantial bone structure, and a well-formed, tidy udder. Despite her relative youth compared to some of our other donors, Nutmeg’s offspring have already amassed an impressive list of accolades. Nutmeg’s first daughter, Murgona Queen Bee Q53 (P), is an exceptional female who has earned widespread recognition over her threeyear show career. Among her many accolades, she was named Grand Champion Santa Gertrudis Female at BEEF 2024, followed by Interbreed honours. That same year, Queen Bee achieved international acclaim, being crowned Santa Gertrudis Miss Asia/Africa/ Oceania, and ultimately taking out the prestigious title of Santa Gertrudis Miss World. Her first progeny, Murgona Sovereignty S99 (P), is already following in her mother’s footsteps, with several broad ribbons to her name. Meanwhile, a full sister to Queen Bee, born

PADDOCK
via IVF and now seventeen months old, is showing exceptional promise and is poised to make a meaningful contribution to the stud. Grand-dam, Kabunga H53 (P), is a true matriarch, having produced six natural calves as well as nine embryo transfer progeny to date. Two ET sons were sold in 2024 for $16,000 and $25,000, with Murgona Ripper (PP) going to stud duties at Wilamba Santa Gertrudis. Further details on H53 can be found in the ‘Featured Females’ section of our website. Nutmeg has demonstrated remarkable growth for her age, weighing 746kgs at just 2.5 years of age, a trait she passes on to her progeny. Her genetics, combined with those of Murgona Legend (PP), though initially the result of an accidental pairing, have consistently produced easy-fleshing, slick coated, growthy

cattle with excellent temperaments and striking head carriage - traits that make them well-suited to the show ring. Nutmeg (PS) continues to uphold the legacy of her distinguished lineage, contributing significantly to the excellence of our breeding program and potentially yours.

MURGONA QUEEN BEE Q53 (P)
MARVEL M69
Marvel (P) is one of our prized poll females, characterized by her impressive size, sleek dark coat, and feminine form. At six years of age, Marvel weighed a remarkable 800 kgs. We are fortunate to operate in an environment that supports cattle of such stature, yet we are extremely conscious that not all our clients have access to these conditions. With this in mind, we take a deliberate and conscientious approach to selecting for constitution, and our strict breeding and pregnancy testing protocols inadvertently support this goal. Marvel began calving at 23 months of age and has since produced five natural sons, with a pleasing average calving interval of 362 days - demonstrating that her substantial size has in no way hindered her fertility. Two of Marvel’s sons have been successfully sold through the Murgona Production Sale, with a third catalogued as Lot 28 this year, and a promising bull recently weaned. Her first son, Murgona Penthouse (PP), was acquired by Juandah Aggregation for $20,000, while his maternal brother, Murgona Reynolds (P), was purchased by Jaletto Pty Ltd for $16,000. Marvel (P) is a docile cow with exceptional milking ability,

PADDOCK
born from one of our most decorated show females, Murgona Impress I38 (P). Impress (P) earned the title of Interbreed Champion Female at the Wandoan Show for three consecutive years, as well as the coveted Supreme All-Breeds Stud Beast award in 2019. She was also honoured as the Grand Champion Santa Gertrudis Female at BEEF 2018 before making the top three in the prestigious Interbreed Championships. Later in 2018 Impress secured the title of Santa Gertrudis Miss Asia/Africa, our first International Title. Marvel’s sire, Murgona Just Right, is the first son of the aforementioned Murgona Hanah H14, thereby combining two exceptional genetic lines. Undoubtedly, Hanah’s legacy has contributed significantly to Marvel’s remarkable milking ability, length, and strong bone structure. Marvel

consistently produces bulls with exceptional substance and presence, which is why we believe the soft fleshing of Moongana Good as Gold (P), coupled with the introduction of fresh genetics, will create a particularly strong and complementary pairing.

MURGONA IMPRESS I38 (P)
XMARBLE M21
PICK OF THE (P)
Marble is a valuable daughter of Warenda Lennox (P) out of a highly productive, foundation female, Kabunga A81. During 2020 and 2021, fourteen sons of Lennox (P) sold for an impressive average of $20,214. Unfortunately, no semen from him remains available. Grand-dam, Kabunga A81, exemplified both fertility and longevity, producing twelve calves over as many years. Structurally sound and dark-coated, Marble (P) is a female of medium frame with an ideal udder and a strong maternal presence. Her consistent performance in In Vitro Production and the superior quality of her progeny have rightfully secured her a place in the donor paddock. A shared attribute among our donor females is body length, a trait Marble (P) possesses in abundance and reliably transmits to her offspring. This contributes to increased eye muscle area and other commercially desirable qualities. Her first son, Murgona Ringer (PP), sold for $21,000 in 2024 to Welbatch Santa Gertrudis. Ringer weighed 964 kgs at 25 months with an EMA of 147. Marble’s second son, Murgona Spiderman (AI)(PP), has enjoyed a successful show career. Spiderman (PP) placed second in the

PADDOCK
competitive Under 12mth class at BEEF 24. In 2025, he was awarded Reserve Champion Bull at the Santa Gertrudis National Youth Camp and placed fourth in the hotly contested 18 - Under 20 months class at the Sydney Santa Gertrudis Feature Show. At this time, he measured an outstanding EMA of 136. A full IVF sister to both Ringer and Spiderman has been retained in the stud, and a naturally bred daughter is also actively contributing to the herd. Marble weaned another quality son this year and is PTIC once again. Her progeny consistently inherits her placid temperament a quality memorably displayed at the Santa Gertrudis Youth Camp when 8-year-old Brian confidently handled a young Spiderman (P), Lot 4. To date, Marble (P) has participated in four IVF programs, yielding a total of 36

embryos, an average of 9 embryos per program ranking her second only to Murgona Hanah H14 in embryo production. Marble is an exceptionally complete female, with the versatility to complement a wide range of sires, three combinations of which are available for your competition.

NOTES
All bids shall be treated as offers made upon the following Terms and Conditions of Sale and all persons present are admitted to attend the sale on the basis that they have notice of these Terms and Conditions.
1. The highest bidder shall, subject to Condition 2, be the purchaser provided that the vendor reserves the right to bid either by himself or through his agent or auctioneer and should any dispute arise among the bidders for any lot, during or immediately after sale of the lot, it shall be settled at the auctioneers absolute discretion who may, should one of the disputants advance, put the lot or lots up again. The bidding from time to time shall be regulated by the auctioneer and no bid shall be retracted.
2. The sale will be conducted on a “Sale” or “No Sale” basis whereby the lot for sale shall be knocked down to the highest bidder, but the sale will be subject to the acceptance of the highest bid by the vendor who will immediately after the fall of the hammer declare “Sale” or “No Sale”. Should the vendor reject the bid of the highest bidder such bidder will have the right of first refusal of the lot at the vendor’s nominated price for one hour after the lot has been passed out of the ring on the Terms and Conditions herein set forth in so far as they shall apply.
3. The details of the purchaser, the purchase price and the lot sold as recorded by the sale clerk for and on behalf of the auctioneer shall be equally binding on both purchaser and vendor.
4. The auctioneer expressly reserves the right, without giving any reason therefor, to:-
(a) Refuse to acknowledge any bid;
(b) Withdraw any lot or lots before or during the sale;
(c) Exclude any person from the auction venue should it think fit.
5. Each lot in all cases shall be at the risk and expense of the purchaser, upon acceptance of his bid by the vendor or upon acceptance of the highest bidder’s offer by the vendor whichever shall be the earlier.
6. Except as expressly provided in these Terms and Conditions of Sale no guarantee or warranty shall be given in respect of any lot sold under these Conditions as to pedigree, sex, age, breeding condition or otherwise howsoever, and no guarantee, warranty or condition whatsoever shall be implied from any affirmation made before or at the time of the sale, or from any circumstances of the sale, but in all cases where a guarantee is intended the same shall attach and be enforceable only if reduced to writing before delivery of the lot and signed by the vendor or by the auctioneer acting as agent for the vendor, and the absence of such writing shall be conclusive evidence in case of dispute that no guarantee warranty or condition whatsoever was given or implied.
7. In the event of any dispute in respect to the sale of any lot:-
(i) The purchaser shall nevertheless be obliged to pay to the auctioneer the full purchase price and any other moneys or interest payable by the purchaser in accordance with these terms and conditions.
(ii) The vendor and the purchaser shall resolve the dispute between themselves;
(iii) The auctioneer shall have no liability or responsibility in regard to the dispute; and
(iv) No lot shall be returned to the auctioneer and the purchaser shall indemnify the auctioneer for all costs, expenses and damages which the auctioneer is put to or incurs by reason of the purchaser so doing.
8. The name of the vendor for whom the auctioneer acts is acknowledged to have been furnished to purchasers prior to sale and further particulars will in all cases be furnished to a purchaser if required. In the case of any dispute the remedy of the purchaser shall be against the vendor only and in no case or under any circumstances against the auctioneer who is to be regarded for all intents and purposes as agent for a disclosed principal.
9. (a) PAYMENT – Unless prior credit arrangements have been made in writing with the auctioneer the full purchase price for each lot shall be due and payable to the auctioneer in cash upon acceptance of the highest bid or the highest bidder’s offer by the vendor and prior to delivery. Notwithstanding that delivery is given to or possession obtained by the purchaser or his representative prior to the payment of the purchase money in full the property in any lot which is sold shall not pass to the purchaser until the full purchase price and all cheques, promissory notes, bills of exchange, acceptance orders or drafts given in connection with such payment have been paid and liquidated, and until property shall pass, the purchaser shall hold such lot as bailee, provided that in all cases should such payment not have been made and liquidated within 14 days of the date of the sale the auctioneer reserves the right to:-
(i) Rescind the contract on behalf of the vendor and repossess and resell any lot;
(ii) Recover from the purchaser interest upon the purchase price at a rate per annum which aggregates the 90 day Bill Rate plus two percentum. For the purposes of this condition “the 90 day Bill Rate” is the rate published regularly in the Australian Financial Review, expressed as a percentage per annum. If at any time the Financial Review ceases to publish a 90 day Bill Rate, the auctioneer shall determine and advise the purchaser of the interest rate to apply for the purpose of this condition.
(b) The auctioneer is selling as the del credere agent of the vendor and the full purchase price of any lot sold shall be payable by the purchaser to the auctioneer and be fully recoverable by the auctioneer in its own name.
10. If the purchaser shall neglect or fail to comply with any of the within conditions, any lot purchased by him may be immediately resold by public auction or private contract, with or without notice, at the risk of the former purchaser, who will be held responsible for all loss and expenses arising out of such resale, and shall not participate in any profit accruing therefrom.
11. Any vendor or purchaser removing the sale number from any lot after it has been sold will fully indemnify all affected parties for any loss, costs or damage should the lot be wrongly delivered.
12. The purchasers, if more than one, shall be jointly and severally bound by these Terms and Conditions, and shall jointly and severally carry out and perform same.
13. Any person who advances a bid on a lot shall do so on the expressed condition and understanding that should that person’s bid be the highest bid and such bid is accepted by the vendor, then that person will be held personally liable for the price so agreed upon, regardless of the fact that that person may be acting on behalf of another party, either disclosed or undisclosed to the vendor or the auctioneer, provided however, that this Condition shall not in any way negate the vendor’s right to claim against any principal and in such case the bidder’s liability shall be construed to be by way of guarantee.
14. The auctioneer may, should it think fit, make arrangements on a purchaser’s behalf for the feeding, watering, trucking, shipping of and general attendance to any lot after sale but no responsibility will be accepted by the auctioneer and all such service will be at the purchaser’s risk and expense.
15. No lot will be delivered until the sales invoice has been checked and signed by the purchaser or his duly authorised representative.

In the event of the animal not being proven fertile within the period the costs incurred shall be borne by the vendor.
17.4 LIABILITY OF A VENDOR. Except for costs defined elsewhere in the conditions of sale, the liability of a vendor in respect of claims relating to fertility shall not exceed the purchase price of the animal(s) or to provide mutually agreed upon replacement animals.

The auctioneer reserves the right, at its absolute discretion, to exclude from the sale, or put out of the sale venue or dispose of, any lot which in its opinion shows signs of any disease, whether infectious, contagious or not, or of any serious fault or of being dangerous.
19. MANAGING YOUR PURCHASE
Purchasing a bull is a long-term investment and one we take as seriously as you do. To help you get the greatest return from your new sire, we’ve compiled a few practical tips based on our own experience and industry best practice.
The Murgona herd is handled in a low-stress manner by men, women, and children, as well as horses, dogs, bikes, and ATVs. As such, we are confident that your new bull will adapt well to your operation. We recommend avoiding isolating your bull where possible, having companions ready upon his arrival will ease his transition. Selling and transport, particularly if undertaken alone, can be stressful even for the quietest of animals. Our cattle respect fences, so you should feel confident releasing your bull directly into a paddock with other stock to settle in.
Doing ability is a key selection criterion at Murgona. Our bulls are not pushed for sale, they are fed with longevity in mind and do not require ‘letting down’ before being put to work. However, young bulls are still growing and cutting teeth, so they may lose condition more rapidly than mature bulls. Research consistently shows that a bull’s health and nutritional status directly affects semen quality. Where possible, we recommend giving young bulls time to recover after their first seasongood pasture, parasite control, and an up-to-date vaccination program can make a significant difference to future performance. Ideally, young bulls should be run together. Mixing them with older, dominant bulls can lead to injury or reduced fertility due to limited mating opportunities. If injury does occur, we urge you to seek veterinary advice and begin treatment promptly.
All bulls offered in this draft are guaranteed breeders. However, please be aware that fertility can be affected by a range of stressors including transport, changes to diet or climate, unfamiliar stock or handlers, and particularly mixing with other bulls.
We are confident that your bull has been thoroughly prepared for a long and productive working life. To further protect your investment, we strongly recommend insuring your bull (a WFI representative will be on-site) and taking a proactive approach to his health, wellbeing, and ongoing management.
We thank you for your purchase and wish you every success. If we can be of further assistance, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
