其他，足可見何嘉仁學員不僅有創意力及表達力，更具有思辨能力以及素養與內涵，這是非常值得欣喜的事。英語力比賽今年是第九屆，這項比賽的前身是青少年寫作演說比賽，2002 年是第一屆，總計舉辦了十一屆，所以加總至今這項英語力賽事已經持續不間斷地舉辦了 20 年。每一年幾乎都有超過 2000 位以上的學生參與，換算下來已有將近 5 萬名學員曾經參與這項活動，學員們除了接受課程指導外，同時必須學習勇敢面對比賽考驗，這是一段非常難能可貴的成長洗禮，相信對他們未來的學習路程一定或多或少會有不同的助益！

INTRODUCTION Develop excellent, comprehensive English skills As English listening tests become essential for university and high school examinations, the ability to listen and speak English is very important. Languages only become effective when you know how to use them fluently. In addition to professional teaching standards, through activities and competitions, we are able to provide a good learning environment for our students. Our aim is to develop elite international students.

Speech Competition The speech competition is a lot more behind to give a good speech. Students have to write the speech, they have brainstorm the ideas and they have to think of the logical way to deliver their messages. To ensure fairness and better match students' English ability, the Speech competition will be split into two categories, Speech Competition A and Speech Competition B. • Speech Competition A Students will be given a list of nine statements – three about the environment, three about technology, and three about everyday life. They will pick the one they think is the most interesting, and deliver a three-minute speech explaining why they agree or disagree with the statement. • Speech Competition B The speech topic is One Thing I Want. Each contestant will give a two-minute speech. Students can pick something they want to have, something they want to do, or something they want everyone to do. Whatever they decide, they need to say why it is important to them, and why they want it so badly.

Mini Musical Competition Mini Musical competition gives students the opportunity to have fun and show their confidence. Students are able to learn from each other and gain interests in learning English.

培養全方位英語力隨著大學入學考試及國中會考陸續將英文聽力測驗納入成績計算，英語聽說能力已成為新世代重要的能力指標。「語言，懂得活用才有力量」，英語力的養成，除了透過專業教師靈活的授課外，透過活動或競賽，更可以全方位建構學員聽說讀寫完整的實力，並培養面對挑戰的勇氣。何嘉仁專業教學團隊，為學員精心規劃多元的課程與活動，期許培養更多新世代的國際菁英！

英文演說比賽提升學生文章撰寫架構、寫作和組織能力，並增強英語發音、語調、自信和公眾演說技巧。比賽依照學員的學習級數以及年齡，分成兩組 : 英文演說比賽 A 組和英文演說比賽 B 組。 • 英文演說比賽 A 組此階段有三個主題，自然、科技、生活。每個主題各有三個議題，總共為九個議題。學生將從這些議題中選出最感興趣的一個，在三分鐘內表達贊同或反對的立場，並陳述論點。 • 英文演說比賽 B 組今年的演說主題是「One Thing I Want」。學生可針對自己想要的東西，想做的事情或希望大眾一起參與的活動進行描述。不論主題為何，都須強調此事物為何對他們如此重要、為何令他們如此嚮往。

I was really surprised when I heard my name announced as the winner. It was my first time joining the speech competition, and I never imagined that I would win the championship. I want to thank my teachers because they spent a lot of time teaching me and they told me how to give a better speech. I also want to thank my parents. They gave me a lot of confidence to stand on stage. When my teacher told us about the competition, I thought it would be a great experience for me, and I wanted to give it a try. I'm so happy that I did! Thank you HESS for such a great opportunity. 家長感言

當聽到 Jay 拿到第九屆何嘉仁英語力大賽演講比賽 A 組總冠軍的當下，心裡真的是充滿了感動與

驕傲，感動 Jay 從報名、通過分校賽以及區域賽的晉級到參加總決賽期間努力不懈的練習（幾乎每天

從起床、睡前到洗澡時都自己對著鏡子努力的練習），也為 Jay 的努力終於獲得了站在總決賽的舞台上發光發熱而驕傲。

很感謝何嘉仁舉辦了這樣的活動，讓全國何嘉仁的孩子為了展現自己的學習成果而努力，每個孩

子都很優秀，都很棒，參加比賽之餘也讓孩子懂得勝不驕敗不餒的運動家精神，最終的結果並不代表

什麼，在過程中所學習到的才是最寶貴的經驗，希望何嘉仁能繼續舉辦這樣具有意義的活動，繼續培養更多優秀的孩子，讓孩子喜歡並享受活用第二語言的樂趣。指導老師的話

「只要我們努力，一切皆有可能！」這句話套在我的學生 Jay 身上一點也不為過！為什麼這麼說呢？當我對學生宣布：「英語力開始報名囉！」底下一片寂靜…心想：「好吧！下課時來個師生交流（一

個一個溝通）」，當時 Jay 參賽意願不高，他從來沒

參加過何嘉仁演講，覺得很困難，所以信心不夠。這

時，Jay 的媽媽也鼓勵他，認為這是一個難得的機會，而且 Jay 的英文能力也不錯，希望老師也能多鼓勵他，於是 Jay 終於報名了 !

Jay 是個認真的學生，既然答應參加比賽，就會

努力到底。在上課期間，只要老師說什麼地方需要

改，Jay 一定不假思索馬上改過來，這是很難能可貴的，通常，一旦養成的習慣是很難更改的，但只要跟 Jay 說，他就會努力修正，因為他相信要做對的事 !

當然過程中難免遇到挫折、有恐懼及信心崩潰的時

候，畢竟這是他第一次參加這麼有規模的比賽，但在一次又一次的練習中都可以看到 Jay 的進步。

I'm really grateful to be able to receive this award. It really means a lot to me to have all my effort pay off. First, I'd like to thank my teachers for helping me practice and improve my speech. I'd also like to thank my parents for their encouragement and patience with listening to me practice. This competition taught me a lot about condidence, creativity, and courage as well. Since everyone likes my speech, I will work hard on it and inspire other people around the world to make our future better for everyone. It was a pleasure teaching the ECC class this year, particularly given that Schaffhausen was able to make it to the Taipei finals. For Taiwanese students, developing a confidence in spoken Englsih is not always easy, yet many understand how important this skill is and it shows in their commitment to practicing their speeches. I am looking forward to future competitions and further watching our students grow! (Benjamin) Schaffhausen is creative, has a good sense of humor and also cares about nature. Given his dedication to his topic, I'm honored to be one of his teachers. Without a doubt, he showed his best at the competition and made us proud. First, I want to thank my teachers for using ther own time to teach me. Next, thank you to my parents, because they always surpported me when I was sad or frustrated. They always tell me "Practice makes perfect," and it really does! Dad first thought that I couldn't reach the top three; he thought that it was a bit impossible. He said that I proved nothing is impossible for me when I work hard. I had my shot for the Speech Competition. I told myself a lot of times, "No matter how hard the competition will be, I'll try my best to reach the top three!" Actually, when I got onto the stage, I was so completely nervous that I thought I was going to freak out. It was my frst time to join the HESS Speech Competition. I want to encourage other kids to compete after me, and to try their hardest, too. I'm grateful that the the HESS Speech Competition helped me learn how express myself, and to be more confident and brave when I speak. 家長感言

陪伴孩子從以前團體組的微音樂劇到這次個人組的演說，我真心覺得何嘉仁英語力比賽是很棒的

活動，我們見證了這確實能多方位的提升英語實力，並大大培養孩子的勇氣和自信。最重要的是，在過程中就會有不少的收穫，像今年 A 組的演講是以論說的方式來表達自己對某議題的看法，為了讓論

點有說服力，中師 Tr. Doris 特別指導 Cindy 如何蒐集相關資料來支持，所以，在內容準備上，就同時

有了英文寫作及思辨能力的訓練；而外師 Tr. Jared 從英文的發音、說話的聲調、臉部的表情、肢體的

動作等細節，來調整 Cindy 的表達能力，我驚喜的看見孩子一次又一次的突破，展現出更多的可能；還有頗富挑戰性的即席看圖演說，能將孩子學習了那麼久的英文，真正整合並應用出來，以父母的角

度來看，是不錯的磨練。實質的收穫真的是不勝枚舉，在這些收穫之後，所帶來的快樂和滿足，更是令我們感到值得的地方。很謝謝老師的鼓勵和指導，也感謝何嘉仁用心舉辦這樣的比賽，期待未來有更多的學生積極參與，一起來親身體會這活動的充實和美好。

We are so excited that Cindy has gotten third place in the HESS ECC Competition! We both think it is a testament to how hard she worked and how hard public speaking can be. Cindy worked hard on and greatly improved her speech by focusing more on being expressive and exciting as a speaker, along with perfecting her pronunciation and memorization. The ECC Competition is a great opportunity for students to practice these skills in new ways outside of the classroom. Through this competition, students are not only able to improve their own speaking skills but also learn from their competitors as well. We think this experience will help prepare Cindy to continue learning and speaking English in her daily life, and give her the confidence to use it in whatever opportunities the future holds. We can't wait to see what's next for Cindy!

This was the third time that I joined the ECC Speech Competition. A first, I wasn't sure if I would have time to prepare for it because I am a junior high school student. It was challenging to do my school work and find time to practice for the speech. But my mom said, "I don't care if you win or not. At least you should try." I was really surprised to receive this special award. It is an honor and I feel grateful. I really appreciate the encouragement from my mom and the help from my teachers. When I heard that I only won the Outstanding Delivery Award, my mood was extremely complicated because I got the same award last year! I cried immediately after receiving the award because I didn't achieve my goal. At the end of the competition, I really felt that I haven't improved and I couldn't listen to what my teachers said. After that, I thought calmly. Maybe the award is important to me, in fact, whether I enjoyed the stage or not which is also really important. So I slowly accepted the reality, and I also compared this year's performance to last year's. And I found that much progress I had been made. Besides, I want to say "thank you" to Teacher Roelien and Teacher Oliver because they have worked hard. They have always taught me patiently, and even used their rest time to train me. Both of them always gave me a hug and told me how amazing I did after the competition. It's really an honor to be their student. In the end, this competition does not mean failure, but it means that I'm moving towards success! 家長感言

Hi ! I am Justin, I was really excited to go to the finals of the speech E.C.C I think it's really hard to get to the finals because you need to spend a lot of time to practice. Then, you need to perform in front of many people. During the whole process, I learned a lot and improved on my writing, speaking and listening. This was not my first time to enter the competition and I think I have done better each year. I always try and learn to be more confident, so I don't get scared of all of the people there listening. I will and must do better next year.

When I first met Justin, he portrayed a candid and genuine appreciation towards the English

language that has instantly allowed him to take his speaking to a competitive level. From what I am told, his driven nature toward learning can always be seen in and out of the classroom. His presence and dedication towards excellence proves to his peers, that possibilities and dreams are endless. It has been my utmost pleasure to watch him grow through the process and I am humbled by the fact he's my student. Everyone at DaWulun HESS is so proud of you and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

When I knew I entered the championship, I was surprised and thrilled. It was my first time to participate in a speech competition. I still remember how amazing the journey was. Starting from the speech class, I not only learned how to write an essay but also the skills of giving a speech. And of course, I made some new friends! Practicing was the most difficult part to me because I needed to find my weaknesses and fix them all. Tones, gestures, the correct verb forms and time-controlling...I even cried several times due to the pressure. I want to thank all my teachers and my family for their support and encouragement. Now when I look back, everything was worth it. Although I didn't win the championship, it was truly a great experience for me. Now I'm not afraid to stand in front of people to express myself. This competition has changed me, and I can't wait to see how much I will grow next time!

Teaching the HESS English Competence Competition speech class has been a fun and exciting experience. It's such a pleasure to see what great and interesting ideas the students come up with. This year's topics were particularly compelling. It certainly produced a plethora of great ideas and even better speeches. It was amazing to help guide our students through each stage of the competition―from the initial lessons, to the branch and area competitions, and finally to the finals―to share their eagerness and enthusiasm, their joy, and their elation with success. This is my first time to join ECC. I am glad that I got into the finals. When I was practicing my

speech, I really wanted to give up. Practicing was a little annoying, but I decided to keep practicing because the big stage in the finals was really attracting me. I think I am really lucky that I could step into the finals, but there is still some room for me to improve. I have learned a lot of skills and I know I will be better next time. Next year, I will join ECC again with my sister. I believe that I will be stronger and learn more from the competition. 指導老師的話

I am Fiona! This is the fourth time I have participated in this competition. I am also honored to advance to the Championship! I owe this honor to my parents and the hard-working teachers who always support me: Teacher Sonya, Teacher Justin and Teacher Lauren! Thank you all. This year, 2021, I stood on the big stage of HESS Annual English Competence Competition and fulfill my goal. I did like this challenge and the achievement I have made all the way to the finals. No matter choosing the topic, writing the content, or practicing the speech, I did work very hard and overcome my weakness. This wonderful and special experience make me have more confidence and polish my English speech skill. "Never give up" and "Keep trying" are the two things I have learned during these three months. I do want to thank all teachers and my family. Especially I want to thank my mom. She gave me a lot of support and help me become better and better － BE MY OWN SUPERSTAR!

Well done, Joyce! Your speech is great! You did a lot of great research for your speech. Your argument is really strong and will make people think differently and more realistically. Try to reference some articles or documentaries to help make your points stronger. You are so confident when you deliver your speech! You are amazing at getting people's attention and you really focus on the audience. Make sure to keep eye-contact with your listeners to help connect with them. Your pronunciation is super! You sound really clear and your accent sounds really close to a native speaker. Just be careful with getting the stress correct with some of the longer words in your speech to make sure everything is perfect. Last of all, remember to speak at a steady pace - not too fast, but not too slow. This will help your audience understand all of your speech. You can do it!

I could not be more grateful to my teachers, Teacher Steven, Teacher, Angel, Teacher Ryan, Teacher Janet, and to my family, who have always supported me and taught me well. This was my second time to participate in the HESS English Speech Competition. Last time, I did not advance to the finals. I felt very upset and sad. Then, I practiced harder this time and I finally won the award - Champion! It really made me feel excited! I think the competition means a lot to me! 名了「英語力寫作演說」課程，非常努力的她，在分校賽中脫穎而出進入區域賽，在比賽前我們全力衝刺，結果很可惜的 Ebe 未能進入全國賽，平時內斂懂事

It was inspiring watching Ian throughtout the speech and writing competition. He was so excited about it and he was very determined to do the best that he possibly could. He was dedicated and worked very hard to practice his speech. He would practice every day at home and at school, it was amazing to see him use his free time to practice and memorize his speech. He loves English so much and often talks about how much he would prefer to only learn English. He inspires others to speak English and even shared a story with me about when he was at home and he couldn't remember how to say strawberries in Chinese, so he had to ask his parents what it was in Chinese.

I am very happy, but surprised that I won this award because I have been trying hard for a long time. First, I want to say thank you to Teacher Craig, Teacher Sharon, Teacher Lily, and all the teachers who have taught me during the competition. 記得去年叫 Lucas 第一次參加這種英文演說比賽時，因為那時我們家離分校比較遠，每到要上課

It's truly an honor to be part of the speech competition once again. To watch the students improve their pronunciation and delivery, rehearsal after rehearsal makes it all worthwhile. It takes a lot of time and effort to memorize the speech and the students should be commended for this. It also takes a lot of bravery to get up in front of hundreds of people and deliver what's in your heart. Lucas, who got third place this year, wrote a fantastic and moving speech, then delivered it powerfully. I am amazed at his confidence, and the whole branch is very proud of him. To attend the HESS English Competence Competition was the most challenging event in my life. At the beginning, I had no confidence about storytelling, but when I got a lot of advice from my parents and teachers it was easier. I practiced a lot and became more confident. I realize that "For one minute on stage, one has to practice ten years off stage". So I told myself that I have been ready for it when I stood up nervously on the stage. I felt relaxed, smiled and confident to share my story. Finally, I got the "Outstanding Pronunciation" award. I cannot be more grateful for my family and dear Teacher Leighton and Jessie. The whole process made a wonderful memory is "It's not about winning. It's about not giving up". 孩子的潛力是無窮的！在金城分校老師們的鼓勵下，Celine 勇敢跳脫舒適圈，首度接受今年英語

力演說比賽的挑戰，開始了近五個月的試煉之旅。在緊湊的行程之下，她必須參加賽前寫作及口說訓

練課程。比賽分兩階段，其中第二階段 Storytelling 需在 20 分鐘內，隨機抽出 2 張圖卡自己發想故事

Being a Speech and Writing Competition teachers is an honor as well as a great challenge. One needs to have a lot of patience and be able to develop young minds to think out of the box as well as being creative. Mostly they come with ideas which need a lot of pruning and molding into a speech which will be convincing and good to the ear. Thereafter it's getting the students to deliver it with good intonation not using to big gestures, trying to stay in the time limit. Then it comes to interpreting pictures and write an ending. I'd which I have to say our student, Celine did exceptionally well. Every week we gave her a picture to interpret and in my years of teaching, I've never seen a student doing so well. One also need to continue motivating the weaker ones, so they can feel proud of our efforts!! I have to say that this year's competition was very tough!

Being part of this year's ECC was surprisingly enjoyable. It was a really good chance to see how some students react to being able to write about a topic they themselves feel passionate about. Also, personally I am an advocate for public speaking activities. Not only do they increase the students English skill, they also act as practice and preparation for most jobs in their adult life, where you need to be comfortable sharing ideas to others and be able to present those ideas effectively. I was geniunely proud to not only see my own students, but to see all of the other contestants really try to embrace that. I would definitely consider being a part of it.

我從幼稚園開始就在何嘉仁天母幼校就讀，一直到現在，在何嘉仁學習的時間將近六年了。小二

參加的 Mini Musical 比賽，雖然因為疫情無緣在舞台上表演，但在練習過程中和夥伴一起培養的情誼，是永遠都代替不了的美好回憶。這次參加英文演說比賽，因為我的聲音本質比較沙啞，本來很怕無法有好的表現，但從練習與訓練課程中學習到更多的表演技巧，讓我一天比一天更進步，最後還有幸代表天母分校，站上總決賽的舞台上，是我一輩子都難忘的最閃亮的兩分鐘！

在這次的演講比賽中，我獲得許多豐富的經驗，我會想要參加此次何嘉仁演講比賽是因為演講可以訓練自己在台上面對群眾講話時，不會那麼緊張。分校賽時，我順利的晉級了，但老師覺得我口齒不清，所以寒假期間，我幾乎每天到分校報到做練習，區域賽時，我的口齒、發音明顯改善，讓我領悟到什麼是“Practice makes perfect.”的道理。因為不斷的努力，我才有機會站上總決賽的舞台，當我站上大家夢寐以求的舞台時，我才發現以區域 top 之姿能夠看到的事物是多麼的不一樣！當面對更多高手時，我也發現自己的不足。今年我未能得名，但我學到名次不是最重要的，重要的是有沒有想要把一件事做好的決心，明年我會再接再厲，為展現更棒、更好的自己努力做好每一個環節。

It was great seeing Queena progress as she practiced for the speech contest. I have been teaching Queena in class since last year, so I already knew her ability, but I was very impressed by how much more natural her English got during that time. After I started coaching her, I quickly realized how good she was at listening to my advice, and trying what I suggested. She always had a great attitude. Even after weeks of practicing, she still came to my coaching sessions happy and ready to learn. After advancing to the finals, I was worried that she might get discouraged by all of the extra work, but she always stayed positive! I'm really glad that I can join this English competence competition. During the preparation, Teacher

Ellen and Ryan encouraged me a lot, and Teacher Frank, Mimi, and Forest taught me how to practice. They made me learn that practice makes perfect. I really want to thank them all. Although I did not win any prizes in the Championship, I saw many excellent competitors from this competition. They made me realize that how I should improve myself in the future. Jeremy is a great student. He has a lot of personal drive and commitment. He always

strived to improve on his speech each time we practiced and often would ask me for advice on actions and pronunciation. He would incoperate these ideas and polish his speech every week. helped me so much. This was my second time to join this competition. Last year, I felt a little sad and unhappy about losing the competition. Elmer has an outstanding imagination. He is both a grounded and calm person, and an outside

the box, world-creating, free-thinking student. When he signed up for the speech class I was certain we would see something great from him, and he really didn't disappoint. My worry for Elmer initially was brevity. I wondered if he could condense his usually sprawling ideas into a concise and direct two minute pitch for something he wants, and again, he did so with flying colors. Speaking in front of an audience isn't easy for anyone, and having a novel idea on top of it is something you can be really proud of. There was some really tough competition this year, and the students were all very impressive. I am lucky to be Elmer's teacher, and proud of what he has done in this competition. Chelsea has always been an attentive and conscientious learner who has great interest not only

in learning and speaking English but also in continuously bettering herself. I was not surprised when she signed up for the Speech Competition because I knew that it would challenge her. I found that in each lesson she would find new angles to market her ideas and as the lessons progressed she created her own masterpiece. She gained a lot of confidence in public speaking and the ability to express her ideas in a creative manner. I am so proud of how well she did but also in how much she was able to grow in just eight weeks. What a wonderful student!

指導老師的話 This year's competition was fierce! Each and every performance was exceptionally prepared and performed, and we are beyond grateful to have placed well. Our students worked incredibly hard from beginning to end. They were determined and focused. We feel that the connection that they built with the plot of the story really contributed to its success. From the start, the kids really loved the characters and were extremely satisfied with their roles. This gave them the ability to connect, and give their full energy. We're so proud of them! 調嗎？！」年紀越小，差一年的肢體協調性就差很多。心想「二年級生教得來嗎？」但是看到二年級生每個躍躍欲試都想參加，每個人臉上充滿光彩與興奮，當下覺得怎麼可以不讓這些學生實現他們的

明星夢呢！所以 Mini Musical 就成軍了！剛成軍時，就開始想每個小朋友的特色是甚麼，根據他們的特色來安排角色。雖然角色選好了，但訓練他們真的是很大的挑戰，有的是沒辦法跟上節拍，有的是臉上根本毫無表情，當時的心情是「怎麼辦？」但小朋友很期待每次的練習時間，一吃完晚餐就巴不得趕快練習，看著小朋友練習時的互動，讓我很感動，他們是為了同一個目標而努力並且享受練習的過程，他們的目標是“Number One”！

我們就抱著是 Number One 的精神與態度認真練習。雖然得到總決賽第三

名，但他們認真的態度絕對是第一名 ! 期待他們以後更傑出的表現！

指導老師的話今年是首次擔任微音樂劇的指導老師，回想這幾個月的練習過程，真的很辛苦！但要怎麼收穫，

先怎麼栽，也是藉由每個禮拜的練習，讓孩子知道，台上一分鐘，台下十年功，原來自己這麼棒，未來會更有勇氣迎向不一樣的挑戰！

練習及準備的過程中，真的樣樣都是細節。舉凡劇本、音樂、走位、肢體語言及戲劇張力……

等，都需要老師不斷琢磨及調整，要如何帶領孩子大方地表現出來，更是讓我費盡心思！但也謝謝這樣的來往互動，拉近了我跟孩子們的距離。

這次七堵分校能夠順利進入總決賽，真的要謝謝同事們的協助，區域內其

他分校的建議及家長們無條件的配合。我替孩子們感到驕傲，也很開心大家做到了！一切都很值得，下一屆再繼續挑戰！七堵分校最棒！

從最初選擇故事劇本，到最終宣佈名次的那一刻，真是太多心靈觸動的片段。從平日練習時的互

相鼓勵與督促，至賽後的相互肯定，孩子們不只是增加自信與穩健台風，更是建立起團隊精神與強健的心智。

於公佈名次後，立刻聽到孩子們對彼此說雖然沒有得名，但能進總決賽，

我們已經很棒了 ! 以後再繼續加油就好了 ! 當下原以為孩子會承受不了打擊，而情緒崩潰，畢竟的確付出了相當多的心力與時間呀，然而卻展現出格外成熟的反應。孩子們，你們真是太優秀了！

指導老師的話今年是我入行以來帶的第三個 ECC 團體隊伍，且幾乎都是自己班上的孩子，默契自然不在話下，搭配很會唱跳的外師 Craig，上課氣氛一直都很活潑愉快。孩子們一直都很配合老師的指令努力練習，我們這隊一路過關斬將來到了決賽，這對我來說意義很特別，這是我帶的第一個晉級總決賽的隊伍。最後我們雖然沒有得名，看的出孩子們很失落，但老師想跟你們說：你們真的都很盡力也很棒，有勇氣站上舞臺已經很了不起了，還能一路晉級決賽真得很不容易。老師們以你們為傲，也希望你們能為自己喝采！（Tr. 一次的練習，讓孩子們把台詞更活化成日常習慣，也看著他們從一開始的手腳不協調，直至能自信的站上舞台，甚至晉級總決賽。對於孩子們這段時間以來的付出與努力，讓老師我真的是非常的欣慰。這一路的練習過程，有歡笑也有淚水，從一開始的陌生與羞澀，經由不斷磨合的過程，孩子們彼此慢慢熟悉，對於動作以及台詞也都能瞭若指掌，他們真的是非常的認真，也都很有決心的想要贏得勝利。看著孩子們不僅僅在跳舞與表達能力上進步許多外，英文口說的流利度也是大大的提升，最讓我感動的是，他們對比賽的投入以及對夥伴們彼此間的加油打氣。

最後，我想真心的對我的孩子們說，你們是最棒的 ! 在我心目中，你們是

指導老師的話 It was very difficult in the beginning to practice the play with the students because most of them are in Grade 1. They were very excited about performing, but they found it very hard to concentrate and they just wanted to play. As they progressed in the competition they improved a lot. They were open to listening to ideas from other teachers and tried their best to use the ideas. They love performing and they were always eager to practice for the competition. They really enjoy singing and dancing and were very quick to learn the songs for the performance. They tried to pretend that they didn't care about winning, but I could see how much they wanted to win. They even asked me if they would still get a medal even if they didn't win.

指導老師的話 The HESS English Competence Competition creates an excellent opportunity for children to develop and grow their skills while simultaneously showing all that they have already learned. The passion, commitment and determination shown by each and every student in our Mini-Musical team filled all of our hearts with joy and encouragement. What a wonder to be able to inspire children to reach for their dreams with all of their might! (Scott) To me, ECC has been a competition that embodies the close connections among teachers, students and parents. Not only did the students put a lot of effort into practicing their lines, improving their pronunciation and learning how to become actors, but also the parents with their support and the teachers with script writing and dance choreography. The whole process of ECC is like a magical journey serving as a unique way to show children how interesting learning English can be. 指導老師的話 Five months. Five students. This group had lots of energy and it was wonderful to see how they grew throughout the competition. Everyone who was involved supported and contributed to the students and their performance. We could see how they all came together and improved every time they practiced. Teacher Claire was fabulous in getting the students ready for their performance and connecting with them. There is a lot of hard work to do and there are challenges, but it was really fun to be a part of this. It's not only a memorable experience for the teachers, but also the students and I hope they will remember this one. 指導老師的話 It is always a wonderful experience to be a part of ECC Mini Musical. It was quite unique this year because we had two teams advance. Everyone involved was very supportive and contributed to the students doing their best. Teacher Alger did an outstanding job to get these students prepared for their performance and getting them really involved in their story. This process takes around five months and it takes a lot of hard work to make it come together. In this process, we get a chance to see how the students respond, learn and grow. This group of students was very excited and motivated for the competition from lesson one. Even though they might have felt disappointment for not getting into the top three, they can be proud of what they accomplished from day one. Everyone is proud of them and they can learn from this experience. Can you imagine what it must feel like to perform in your non-native language in front of so many? We worked closely as a team to create a musical that will not only be fun for us but fun for the students, too. It was an absolute privilege to have worked with such creative and talented young students. Each one of them worked so hard and they had a lot of fun. They learned how to work together as a group but they also learned how to perform as individuals. We are so proud of what they have accomplished.
