YOUR CLUB REPORT

ALL of our venues were well received over the holiday period, especially the RSL Services Club and Burpengary Community Club.

ChristmasDaywasagainmassivewithourvenuesfully bookedinHerveyBayandservingalmost1000people on the day. We express a sincere thank you to all staff whoworkedonChristmasDay.

The painting of the Anzac Sports Bar has now been completed giving the room an uplift with the almost white colour scheme There has also been an enhancement to the furniture in Hervey House. We havereplacedthe20-year-oldchairswithmodernand comfortablechairsthroughouttheentireroom.

In the coming weeks we will see the carpet replaced and some work done in the bar and female and male toilets. The installation of the solar panels started on February 7 on the main roof of the Club. The 244kilowatt system should be completed by the end of Aprildependingontheweatherbeingkind.

Planning is continuing for the deck and kitchen extension on Level 1. When more information becomesavailable,wewilladvisemembers.

At the Clubhouse, the relocation of the buggy sheds hasbeencompleted,inadditionthefinalisationforthe additional 72 car parking bays is slowly being completedandisonlyacoupleofweeksaway.

Plans have been finalised for the building works at the Clubhouse being a new kitchen extension and new dining/function area. In addition, a new front façade at the Club entrance. The plans are currently out to tenderwherebyweareexpectingtoknowthecostings shortly to enable our committee to make an informed decisionontheprogressoftheseworks.

Our committee has engaged ROHRIG Building Contractors,atanearlystage,toachievethebestprice possible for the extension and refurb. ROHRIG were our builders who completed the fit out for the BurpengaryCommunityClubforus.

Since the last meeting trade has commenced at SeaBar469. New head chefs have been appointed including Amanda Marchant at the Bayswater Bar & GrillandStevenKilminsteratSeabar469.

Bayswater Bar & Grill also has appointed a Venue Manager in Joseph Bax who is young and keen and comes from a strong hospitality background from the GoldCoast.

An additional six new gaming machines authorities have been purchased to enhance the gamingflooratBayswater.

MiniGolf,TruroSt,Torquay:

Whilst construction has begun on the Mini-Golf course, the major hold up has been the relocation of the sewerage line from across our property to outside our boundary, as required by Fraser Coast RegionalCouncil.

The Mini Golf builder unfortunately had to leave the site due to the sewer relocation and is expected to return sometime in March to recommence work Thecaféworkwillhopefullystartinthecomingweeks.

BurpengaryCommunityClub:

Trade has been superb in recent months in particular food,beverageandgaming. TheClubiscomingupto twoyearsoftradingandnowhasasocialmembership ofover23,500members. Thesearegoodsignsforthe future, and we look forward to supporting this community and further reaping the rewards of everyone'scontinuoushardworkinmakingthisvenue asuccess.

Both our motels, the Comfort Inn on Main and Hervey Bay Motel, have also been trading well over the holiday periodwiththeComfortInnbeingthestandout

Finally, I have some good news for our members. The Federal Government has announced that from February 1, 2023, the price of draught and packaged beerwillriseduetotheexcisedutyratesincreasingby 3.7%. This price rise is on top of the last August 2022 increase of 4%. The new rate increase is $97.90 per litreofalcohol. The'goodnews'forourmembersand patrons is our Club Management has decided we will NOT increase the price of draught and packaged beer at our Club. Our prices will remain the same for schooners and packaged beer such as bottles or cans at pre February 1, 2023 prices. Our Club will absorb thecostofthenewalcoholtaxatthistime.

Lots of patrons put in a wheely good effort trying to win this brand-new MG3 but our member Matthew was a car above the rest after taking out the top prize on New Year's Eve! Other lucky patrons had some New Year cash to splash with a share of $3000 for the runners-up.
