GET READY TO GROOVE!
FOOD n Groove returns to the Fraser Coast next month for two special ‘Get Ready’ events launching in Hervey Bay on 7 October and 14 October in Maryborough. Fraser Coast Regional Council’s Get Ready’ event is a government initiative designed to help people prepare for the approaching bushfire, storm, and cyclone season. Take a look at the emergency vehicles or chat to emergency crewsto be prepared this storm season, all while enjoying the fun atmosphere, great entertainment, and abundant food and drink options at this licenced event. “There is no better way to start a weekend than a family-orientated outdoor event on Friday afternoon,” Fraser Coast Mayor
George Seymour said. “The timing suits our climate as it is not too hot; the food is always wonderful and the music on point. Bring a picnic blanket or chair but please leave your pets at home. “With La Nina and heavy rains predicted for the coming spring and summer, I encourage all residents to come along to see the emergency services
vehicles and personnel and find out how they can be prepared,” Cr Seymour continued. From November, Fraser Coast Tourism and Events will run its signature Food n Groove Fridays from Hervey Bay’s City Park on the first Friday of each month until January, offering visitors and locals alike the opportunity to wind down after the working week. “Festival goers can browse the local market stalls, enjoytasty food, or enjoy the live entertainment…the perfect segue into the weekend.” “We are thrilled to be returning to the birthplace of Food n Groove Fridays, City Park following the reopening of the Hervey Bay Regional Gallery,” Events Delivery Manager Chelsea Larner-Simpson said.
