If you don’t like Council decisions, nominate and make a change

AROUND this time next year, late March of 2024, the Fraser Coast will once again go to the polls to elect its local government for the following four years.

Unlike many of us, our councillors only have to front up for a performance review every four years and the arbitrators of their future employment are you, the voting public.

Our councillors fall into Category 4, which is a cute way of saying that each will be getting paid a tick over $96,000 a year after the next election. The Deputy Mayor will pocket close to $110,000 and the Mayor a little over $165,000.

Before I get a hundred screaming emails about those salaries, it is important to note

Misunderstanding! Really?

Councillor Chapman (Advertiser 23/2/2023}, thinks we misunderstand council’s $100 million proposed chambers!

On what does he base this assumption?

The good councillor goes on to tell us our current library is too small by “international standards”.

Surely the real issue, is, does it meet local needs?

Based on what I’ve seen it does.

If this new proposed building is going bring

“hundreds of staff together in one location”, why are we going to spend thousands more on a new complex in Maryborough?

Surely a shop front presence could be found in the existing Town Hall?

As for creating “jobs and driving business investment”, surely this would occur at any other of the proposed locations, while saving the ratepayers many thousands of dollars.

Sorry councillor, but if any one misunderstands, it’s you.

The Voice

I believe there is not a country in the world that still has exclusively the original inhabitants, who have a controlling vote/say/voice within their land.

One example is the UK.

Anglo Saxons, Vikings, Normans, Celts to mention but a few of those who currently dwell in the United Kingdom, all share equal status and have the same “rights” as each other.

Who were the “ORIGINAL” inhabitants?

If we can even answer this, should they have rights over

that these remuneration levels are set by the local government remuneration commission.

I personally believe that the majority of our councillors are hard-working people, who do the very best they can.

There are always a few disappointments though, and you have to shake your head at the fake email creators and the social media conspiracy posters, who haven’t had the dignity to give it away.

That’s a discussion for closer to polling day.

Blaming the Council and Councillors is practically a cottage industry in Hervey Bay, and in my opinion, it’s largely unjustified.

They get it right, the majority of the time.

The view is always easier from the bleachers,

others who share the same land?

Of course not.

Many countries have similarly diverse inhabitants. Humans inhabit this planet, and where they dwell, buy land under the laws of that land is where they belong and rightly call home.

Why should Australia, with its wonderful mix of people from so many nations, be any different? Would it be reasonable to single out, by race, the first inhabitants of any land to enjoy certain privileges?

That would be a recipe

but if you want to change the game, you have to get on the field.

Nominate to run, if you think you can do better. It’s a democracy after all.

Candidates must complete mandatory ‘So you want to be a councillor’ election training no more than six months before nominating for the election, even if you have completed the training before.

Net migration of professionals into Hervey Bay since the last election has been huge and I’m hedging it won’t be the two-horse race in most divisions, as it was four years ago.

Would it also mean that we should adopt a hierarchical division of our people, so that those whose ancestors arrived in the 18th century should have greater privileges (or voice), than those who arrived in the 21st century?

What a can of worms that would be!

We should be aiming for equality of rights & opportunity for all of our citizens, particularly those in remote communities.

Just saying ......

Teachers are supposed to teach their students reading, ‘writing and ‘arithmetic back in the day so perhaps parents/ carers should teach their children respect, resilience and responsibility for their own actions, then eliminate ‘stress’ and ‘depressed’ from our vocabulary. Then thank God we won the lotto in life and were born in Australia or chose to live here.

What happened to the outdoor staff?

I moved to Hervey Bay six (6) years ago from coastal NSW where I was an elected Councillor.

When we moved here I marvelled at the care taken to beautify our roundabouts and parkways.

The Esplanade was always immaculate with plenty of council workers going about their daily maintenance and chores early in the day.

Now our roundabouts look like they have been chewed by rats.

The areas once cared for by Council staff are now attacked by contractors on ride-on mowers with no grass catchers.

The mowing cycles in summer are at six (6) week intervals and some areas particularly around Yarrilee State School have grass chest high on the footpaths.

Our elected Councillors must drive to work with blinkers on, either that or they simply don’t care what visitors to our area think.

Or maybe they have been rendered powerless by overbearing bureaucrats who are paid way too much

money to mismanage our beautiful area.

Remember Chris Loft? He was the Mayor that tried to improve things only to be throw into prison for six (6) long months for his efforts under the guise of ‘ Code of Conduct’, a sword held over the heads of elected members of Councils in the state of Queensland, particularly if you don’t agree with the government of the day.

Buying new submarines

Well, I’m going to have to agree with Paul Keating’s assessment of buying submarines.

Because it’s an indulgence and I agree that the Australian public are being sold a lie.

The media have sucked us into a vortex mind set.

China has never threatened Australia in any form, and as for Dutton agreeing with Labor, why am l not surprised. This is the war monger at election time trying to sell us about boat people, to which has been proven a lie. (Reactionary politics)

The mathematics don’t add

up, any way you look at it.

Dutton is happy to purge NDIS of monies, so why not just take anybody on NDIS and shoot them like Hitler did?

Protect your own citizens first, don’t sell them down the river over ego driven politics.

As for the four Labor mines that thought it a valid reason for this expenditure, think again, all within a 24 hour window. (no consultation with parliament) a captain’s call. Doesn’t make it correct, look at Morrison’s captain’s calls; complete failures. Security is justified to a point, fear mongering something completely different.

We as Australians are not the world police as Americans seem to think they are.

Look at the track record of the Americans, even Afghanistan excuse entry of bombs of mass destruction then an overnight exist (a complete failure).

Australia is being led by the nose (idiotic thinking). Recalibrate this thought pattern. (Not wise on any level).

Locals inspired by cancer experience to help others

A SMALL but mighty group of Hervey Bay locals have used their cancer experiences to make an impact in the community, recently raising $1,000 to support the work of the Cancer Council.

Connected through the Forbes Cancer Care Centre at St Stephen’s Hospital, Alf Stockill and Sharon Werder, are leading the charge to raise funds by sharing their crafts with patients, visitors and staff.

It all began when 84-yearold Alf Stockill started selling his award-winning handmade timber pens at the hospital in 2021 with a goal of raising funds for charity.

Alf’s wife of more than 60 years, Yvonne, had just started receiving regular treatment after being diagnosed with myeloma, a type of blood cancer.

Since taking up woodwork 20 years ago upon retirement, Alf estimates he’s made close to 2,000 pens, some of which have been awarded first prize including at the Kingaroy Show.

“The staff at the hospital treated Yvonne so well, I thought I could do something

to help. I get enjoyment from making the pens and from seeing others enjoy them, and I’m helping somebody by doing it,” Alf said.

“You don’t look for recognition, but it was nice to be a part of handing the cheque over to the Cancer Council. It’s good to think that what I did is helping someone,” he said.

In 2022, Alf’s small stall of pens grew to include handcrafted greeting cards, all thanks to St Stephen’s patient, Sharon Werder.

Sharon began making greeting cards over 15 years ago and in only six months has already sold hundreds to those who pass through the hospital.

“I do have quite a collection

of cards! I’m part of a network of ladies who do card making. We have classes to go to and get-togethers, so it’s a bit of company as well,” Sharon said.

Since being diagnosed with breast cancer in late 2021, Sharon has visited the Forbes Cancer Care Centre every three weeks for treatment, each time replenishing the stock of cards for sale.

February also marked the last round of treatment for Sharon, but that won’t mean the end of her fundraising.

“I’ll still be dropping cards in every so often!” Sharon said.

Alf won’t be giving up any time soon either.

“If I can continue to make 10 pens a week, I’ll be happy,” Alf said.

Visitors flocking to art gallery after renovation

MORE than 10,000 visitors have flocked through the doors to view nine different exhibitions since the Hervey Bay Regional Gallery reopened in April 2022 after a major renovation.

Fraser Coast Mayor George Seymour said the gallery team had also provided tours for more than 300 school students and 18 community groups and delivered 30 public programs in the past 10 months.

“The Fraser Coast has a colourful and vibrant cultural life, and Council is keen to ensure our community has opportunities to appreciate

“Our gallery team is committed to sharing art within our community. Through art we can better understand the world around us and how we are all connected.

“I hope residents and visitors enjoy spending time in the gallery and find time to engage, learn and appreciate the diverse displays and programs featured this year.”

The 2023 program includes a diverse offering of exhibitions, public programs and operational initiatives, Gallery Director Ashleigh Whatling said.

“This year exhibits by some of Australia’s leading affect the Fraser Coast, such as the housing crisis, wildlife care and management and a Queensland staple – Rugby

“We remain committed to

telling stories of this region and sharing perspectives from our diverse community.

“We acknowledge that we are on Butchulla land and will continue to learn, share and celebrate Butchulla values and culture in all of our offerings.”

While the gallery was being renovated, Council took the opportunity to develop a new Hervey Bay Regional Gallery Strategic Plan, Cr Seymour said.

“The new gallery is at the centre of Fraser Coast storytelling, in all its forms including contemporary art and the interpretation of culture, history and place, while supporting our region’s vibrant and diverse communities.”

Lights to stay on longer at Esplanade skate park

THE LIGHTS at the skate park and parkour course on the Hervey Bay Esplanade will stay on for longer on weekends and during some school holidays.

At its meeting on Wednesday, February 22, Fraser Coast Regional Council decided to keep the lights on until to 9pm, seven days a week during the June/July and September/ October Queensland school holidays and every Friday and Saturday.

“The new lighting times strike a balance between encouraging people to use the

facility and protecting nesting turtles and hatchlings,” Cr Jade Wellings said.

“The facility attracts a lot of people and helps bring people to the region.

“The changes balance increasing the time people can use the facility with our efforts to protect nesting turtles and turtle hatchlings.

“We have ensured that the period in which the lights will

be on longer is outside of the turtle nesting season from October to April to lessen the impact on nesting turtles and turtle hatchings.

“Despite the noise and activity in that area, turtles do nest on the beach at Pialba. One recent nest was located directly adjacent the skate park on the dune next to the pathway.

“To further lessen impacts on turtles, Council staff have also started to plant the dunes in front of the skate park to establish a buffer zone to cut light and noise reaching the beach.”

Construction underway at Scarness Caravan Park

WORK on Phase One of the Scarness Caravan Park redevelopment has started.

The $3.2 million redevelopment contract to build the roads and install the underground power, water and sewerage systems is being undertaken by Murphy Builders.

The work focuses on the western half of the caravan park.

“The project will also include fencing and the start of the landscaping,” Cr David Lee said.

“While the work is underway the eastern section of the park

will remain operational,” he said.

“The aim is to redevelop the park in two stages, opening each of the new areas progressively as they are completed with all works completed by 2024.

“It is anticipated that the tenders for the building works, including the new manager’s office, camp kitchen and park amenities will be advertised shortly.

“The Scarness Caravan Park is ideally located on the Esplanade and attracts many visitors to the Fraser Coast. It provides an important boost

to the local tourism industry and regional economy.

“We apologise for any inconvenience caused while the work is carried out, but the end result will be a more modern caravan park, catering for the needs of today’s tourists.”

Council received $200,000 towards the project from the State Department of Tourism, Innovation and Sport.

Set to the background of the political fallout from the Vietnam war, this comedy-

drama is one of the greatest Australian plays ever produced and one you cannot miss it.

“It’s art, it’s mayhem, it’s a wonderful roller coaster of emotion all the way to opening night,” said director Jonathan Sharp. Audiences be advised that this play does contain coarse language.

Cosi commences Friday 31st March and goes through to Sunday 16th April 2023, with evening shows on Fridays and Saturdays commencing at 7.30pm and Matinees on Sundays commencing at 2.00pm.

A FRASER Coast Councillor has stressed the importance of young women working together to help each other achieve greatness.

Division 5 Councillor Jade Wellings addressed Xavier Catholic College students at their International Women’s Day assembly on Wednesday, 8 March.

Cr Wellings said it was easy to fall into the trap of bringing people down.

“Don’t tell women what they can’t do, rather tell them what they can,” Cr Wellings said, encouraging students to focus on uplifting each other.

Cr Wellings said previous generations had worked hard to achieve gender equality, but stressed there was still more to be done.

Baycrest zoologist receives STEM award

Retirement Village resident Dr Vernon Harris, 97, has been recognised for discovering more than 40 new species of copepod, a microscopic marine creature, in the Fraser Coast’s 2023 Australia Day awards.

Starting his career as a Zoologist in London after WWII, Vernon’s ongoing workincluding continued contributions with the University of the Sunshine Coast - was recognised with the Fraser Coast STEM Award.

“The animals I study are beautiful colours and they can be found on seaweed but they are less than one millimetre in size, like a little dot,” Vernon said.

“I have found about 30 species in Australia, more than ten in Japan and some in Scotland – there are only 71 species that have been described,” he said.

Vernon’s work has taken him around the world.

“Life is a funny thing – my life has taken me on two quite distinct pathways and neither of them I had ever planned or

anticipated, they were sheer incidents that completely changed my life.

“After the war I completed my degree in Zoology and Animal Physiology and worked under Professor Gip Wells, a famous Zoologist and son of H.G. Wells, before being scouted

“I was then contacted by a professor from Australian National University in Canberra to come out and plan a new syllabus.

“Deciding to stay in Australia was the second thing that changed our lives, because we realised we didn’t want to go back to London.

“One Christmas, my wife and I decided to go up to the Snowy Mountains and this was when we decided to buy a 14,000 acre block of land out there and got our Australian Citizenships.”

These days Vernon resides at Bolton Clarke’s Baycrest retirement village, where he continues his studies from his unit as one of the world’s pre-eminent copepod experts.

Conrodders visit the Fraser Coast

THE HERVEY Bay and Maryborough communities will be treated to a cavalry of Street Rods and Custom Cars when the Conrodders Campout and Hot Rod show is held on the Easter weekend 7th to 10th April.

After missing a couple of years, the 2022 event returned as a great success and 2023 is looking to be bigger than ever.

A large collection of Street Rods and Customs will be attending for the Friday and Saturday closed events followed by a Public Show and Shine on the Sunday at the Maryborough Showgounds, usually attended

by several hundred collectible cars and thousands of locals, there to view the vehicles on display.

Conrodders members spokesman Peter Koning says they are all really looking forward to the Car Show at Maryborough Showgrounds Easter Sunday April 9th.

“The club is hoping for a great day out showing the best that the Wide Bay has to offer for Collectible Car Enthusiasts”.

There will be several hundred collectible and custom cars of every type on display plus lots of trade stands with car and hobby

related collectibles, arts and crafts and food stalls.

On the Friday and Saturday, the venue is open to preentries who are camping and participating for the whole three days.

On Easter Sunday, April 9th the show is open to all car enthusiasts to show their pride and joy with no pre-entry required.

This year's proceeds are going towards local charity ‘Community Flights Hervey Bay’.

Hervey Bay mum one of the fittest in the country

LOCAL Hervey Bay mum of four Ali Bennett has finished eighth in Australia and inside the top ten across Oceania, in the recent Crossfit Open competition for her age division.

“Whether you’re new to CrossFit or a seasoned competitor, the Crossfit Open allows anyone to compete,”

Ali said.

“This is my ninth year of competing and I had a goal of making it into the top ten. I’m very excited by the result. It’s a lot of hard work, but I am a goal focussed person.”

“Each year the workout gets harder in the top tier of the competition. They want to make sure that the fittest are rising to the top.”

That said, no matter what skill level you are, there is a version of the Crossfit Open for anyone, and globally more than 320,000 people signed up in 2023.

Workouts are modified into RX, scaled and foundation to make it truly accessible for anyone.

In Ali’s age bracket of ladies 40-44 years in Australia, over 1,200 ladies competed, making her achievement even more remarkable.

“You can’t train specifically for the competition workouts,

because you never know what they will be. It’s three workouts over three weeks.”

“You can access the workouts on a Friday morning and you have to have it completed and uploaded by the Tuesday at 11.00am, to validate your entry.”

The competition follows the same format for everyone who takes part, progressing through the Open, to Quarter Finals, Semi Finals, and finally, for a select few, the CrossFit Games.

Although Ali is the owner of local gym Allied Fitness, she was quick to point out, this

doesn’t mean she has all day to sit around and train.

“I’m a busy working mum. I run a business, a household and I spend more time training other people than myself.”

“But like anything, you have to find the time to do the things that you love and work that into your weekly schedule.”

Next stop on the road on the 2023 NOBULL CrossFit Games for Ali is the Quarterfinals. Only the top 10% of individuals in her division will compete there. “This will be a huge challenge, but I’m up for it.”

Another issue is that our politicians don’t want to spend money in election years as it can be an unpopular decision if rates or taxes go up. These issues cause resistance to make the big, long-lasting decisions about multimillion dollar pieces of infrastructure that could change the course of a city for decades.

Hervey Bay is at that cusp in its lifespan where major planning needs to happen. We are now at a size and maturity level with a population of over 60,000 which could grow to

100,000 in 20 years. This puts us at a point were our current infrastructure is not fit for purpose. Forty years ago, we were five sleepy villages and have never had the benefit of a city heart with infrastructure such as town halls, government buildings, showgrounds and stadiums.

Now is the time to make the hard decisions and plan for the future. We need a major building in our CBD like the library/council chambers building to stimulate the CBD revitalisation. Hats off to the Council for having the guts and the foresight to back this building. It will be a legacy project.

However, we can’t stop there. We need better airport facilities and more flights, perhaps with a real airport corporation running the airport. We need our harbour and marina to be freehold and to expand to cater for our growing tourism and recreational market. We need a sports stadium to hold 10,000 people so we can get

State level competition and take advantage of the Olympics. We need to look at our medical infrastructure and secure land and planning for more hospital facilities in 20 years’ time. This is especially important given our aging population. Our roads need upgrading and key intersections need lights. Our Esplanade is our number one playground but needs more facilities, parklands and carparking to cater for the next 20,000 people and our everincreasing tourist numbers.

We seem to have a minority of vocal knockers in the community who appear to have more influence on political decisions than the quiet majority. It is time for the business community and our politicians to work together to plan and commit to big infrastructure even if it is not popular with this minority.

Ministers workforce challenges breakfast

BUSINESS and industry leaders are being invited to attend a breakfast with Minister for Employment Di Farmer next month to share their experiences and help drive solutions to address the region’s range of workforce challenges.

The Fraser Coast Workforce Solutions Breakfast is being hosted by Jobs Fraser Coast and will take place on Wednesday, April 5 at The Boat Club in Urangan.

“I want to meet business owners and industry leaders and listen first hand both to the workforce challenges they’re facing, as well as the innovative solutions some of them are developing,” Minister Farmer said.

“Local solutions – including ‘growing our own’ skilled workforce – are a key part of the Palaszczuk Government’s Good people. Good jobs: Queensland Workforce Strategy 2022-2032, along with other strategies such as school-to-work transitions and cross-sector skilling initiatives.”

Jobs Fraser Coast Chair Michelle Hay said the breakfast aimed to bring together leaders from multiple sectors and address issues such as training and education

pathways, skills development, growth industries and housing supply.

“Skills and workforce shortages aren’t just a local problem – they’re nationwide issues – but it’s important we share our common challenges and develop solutions locally to address issues particular to our region,” Ms Hay said.

“We want this breakfast to be a meaningful event where we can bring diverse groups together, problemsolve collectively, build the outcomes into our action plans and deliver – with the aim of making our entire regional economy stronger.”

Fraser Coast Mayor George Seymour said it was important

I want a Divorce

PEOPLE often get the terms ‘separation’, ‘property settlement’, ‘children’s orders’ interchanged with the word ‘divorce’.

The Marriage Amendment (Definition and Religious Freedoms) Act 2017 amended the Marriage Act 1961 to redefine marriage as ‘the union of 2 people to the exclusion of all others, voluntarily entered into for life’.

Separation is when it is communicated between the parties that the relationship has ended. It may not be accepted but it has to be communicated. The date of separation is important for when you can legally apply for Divorce. You must be separated for 12 months before you can apply for a divorce.

Property settlement is

what happens after people separate. Parties to a marriage need to divide the assets of the relationship prior to or within 12 months of a divorce being granted.

If you have children together you need to have arrangements in place for the children. These can be formal or informal (Children’s Orders or Parenting Plans). The Court will require you to explain these arrangements, prior to granting a divorce.

A Divorce is the legal termination of the marriage. After 12 months of separation you are eligible to apply for a divorce. You need to serve the divorce on your former spouse 28 days prior to the divorce hearing, or apply for the divorce jointly. You are then given a hearing

date. If there are children under 18 you will need to attend the hearing. If not, the divorce can be granted in your absence if all the criteria are met.

Once the Divorce hearing has occurred, you are issued with a decree nisi stating the date on which the marriage will end unless a good reason not to grant a divorce is produced. A decree absolute (Court Order stating the divorce is final) will be issued 1 month and 1 day after the decree nisi. The reason for the length of time to apply for and be granted a divorce compared to other jurisdictions is based on the definition of marriage being ‘for life’. It provides the parties with every opportunity to change their mind prior to the decree absolute being issued.

RSL Grant promotes the right headspace for young people

Headspace Hervey Bay is the latest organisation to benefit from a Hervey Bay RSL Club Community Grant.

Each year, headspace help thousands of young people across the country, and their family and friends, access vital support through their headspace services.

They are in more than 154 communities across Australia, and we are fortunate to have them here in Hervey Bay.

They have received $1500 from the Hervey Bay RSL Club Community Grants program for some raffle prizes to giveaway at the 2023 Youth Festival at Seafront Oval on April 12.

LIFE comes with many twists and turns; nobody knows this better than Robert Agius.

Robert was born in Sydney and is the oldest of three. At the age of ten, the family packed up and moved to Queensland, where he spent most of his teenage years calling the south side of Brisbane home.

With a reminiscent smile, Robert says, “Growing up, I was a good boy who never got caught. My life was very much outdoors. I was into motorbiking, fishing, and 4-wheel driving and loved hanging out with my mates. I

“Just before my eighteenth birthday, I had a serious car accident that left me in the spinal unit in Brisbane. I spent nine months in the hospital and was left a quadriplegic.

“As a teenage boy on the cusp of adulthood, I had been on the verge of leaving home and gaining my independence, and in the blink of an eye, everything changed. It was a difficult time. Establishing a path forward from there was not easy and took quite a while to figure out.

“You get an understanding that death is final and that there is a lot out there still to

Robert has much to be proud of, including being part of a group that started the first quad rugby team in Queensland. The group then got selected to go down to the institute of sport, which Robert describes as being a real eyeopener. Now, quad rugby is classed as an Olympic sport.

When he moved to Hervey Bay with his wife Fay close to nineteen years ago, he decided he wanted to get back into fishing. Robert began trying to develop a fishing rod holder for his wheelchair that would assist him and many others in getting back to what they loved

- fishing!

“Developing the product is an ongoing process. But

I am happy with my current design. I have caught fish of all sizes with it, from bream and mackerel to large sharks. Some catches have definitely put the rod holder to the test.

Not long after that, orders started coming in, leading to Reel Keen Powerchair Fishing being established nearly fifteen years ago.

“There are many kinds of fish in the bay all year round. You just need to know when, where, and how to do it”.

Robert says, “My disability has enabled me to pursue

something that I love to do and created a path for myself and others with disabilities who like to fish. If I was an able-bodied person, who knows, I might have been stuck in a full-time job doing something I hate and waiting to go out fishing once a month.

Robert and Fay enjoy travelling, live shows, going to the movies and eating out when they can. Robert also loves his birds and keeps colourful Gouldian Finches that are usually found northwest of the Kimberleys. They both look forward to whatever adventure awaits.

Community engagement officer enjoying new role

FOOTBALL: Football Queensland Wide Bay have a new community engagement officer, with Chris Phillips taking up the role in January.

The Gold Coast local has moved to the Wide Bay to deliver Football Queensland’s community programs to the region.

Phillips was formerly working for Football Australia as a participation officer delivering programs when the position was advertised.

“It is a bit of a sea change compared to the Gold Coast, but I love the clubs and people’s passion for the game, Phillips said.

His role includes delivering programs, including schools, walking football, and girls united.

“I also want to work with the local clubs to get their Mini Roos programs running.

Phillips began playing football as a young child before exploring other sports. He

returned to football and moved into coaching after several bad knee injuries.

“I plan to develop a new passion for the game in the region by attracting new people to the game. We also need to ensure that the game is fun for all involved,” he said.

SWIMMING: The Hervey Bay Humpbacks master’s Swimming club held their annual swim meet at the Hervey Bay Aquatic Centre on Tuesday 14th March.

Eighty-four competitors from seventeen clubs attended the meet, with swimmers travelling as far away as the Gold Coast to compete.

“The youngest competitor is twenty, and we go up to 80 today,” Club president Anne Chadwick said.

With the state titles to be held in Mackay in two

the swimmers used the meet to sharpen their skills and times as preparation.

“It is really great to have the clubs north and south of

the Hervey Bay economy,” she said.

After the full day of racing, the Humpbacks hosted a barbeque for all swimmers.
