Thurston Primary Academy

A brand new building fit out and refurbishment

Thurston Primary Academy’s new build opened in September 2021 and resulted in a big move from their old school to a much larger site that accommodated nearly double the amount of pupils.

Our dedicated Account Manager provided a comprehensive list of quotes, recommendations and regularly met with the school. We attended when the keys were delivered to the school and the final opening day for pupils.

We project managed the Furniture, Fixtures and Equipment for the new build in the last week of August whilst accommodating the legacy furniture that they needed to move from the old school.

We delivered all of the schools needs from new interactive whiteboards in all of the classrooms, a really impressive library, classroom tables & chairs and even down to cutlery in the staff room!

Our vision was to provide an environment that younger pupils would aspire to learn in by creating brand new education spaces. We repurposed and redesigned a number of under-utilized spaces into three learning resource areas and an impressive library. County Supplies supported the school throughout the whole project achieving an engaging and interactive environment to help aid teaching and learning.

A brand new Primary & Nursery school fit out with furniture & resources

Grace Cook Primary & Nursery school opened in September 2022 in Stowmarket, Suffolk. Part of Orwell Multi Academy trust, the school initially opened for nursery, reception, year 1 and 2.

The school is aiming to expand gradually over the next few years to offer 210 primary and 60 nursery places. The school is named after Grace Cook (1877 – 1958), a pioneering astronomer and great role model from Stowmarket.

Our dedicated Account Manager provided a list of quotes and recommendations for the initial fit out which included a nursery room, 2 classrooms, office and staff room, dining area and library.

From preliminary discussions to regular meetings, the brief was revised and developed in line with the school’s needs.

We project managed the sourcing, delivery and installation of furniture on time and to budget.

The nursery has a role play kitchen, a dressing up unit, easels, wellie stand and trikes to encourage play indoors and outdoors. Classrooms are kitted out with tables, chairs and storage.

We have met all the schools needs in delivering furniture as well as resources from exercise books and stationery to cleaning and first-aid to ensure everything was ready for the new opening in September. We are now in discussions and developing plans for a brand new project.

We were delighted to attend the official opening of the school, with speeches thanking everyone involved, a delicious cake and a moving performance from the children singing “you’ve got a friend in me”.

All items were delivered on time and in a professional manner by Emma Mather, our Account Manager who ensured we were kept informed and updated on key milestone deadlines.

The process was very clear and transparent. County Supplies took the stress out of the opening of a new school! We would not hesitate to use them again.

The new Headteacher at Richard de Clare contacted County Supplies to help give their school library the ‘WOW’ factor. A key part of the brief was ensuring the room theme complimented the school’s maroon uniform. We delivered colourful chairs and modern tables to help engage and inspire. The key focal point to the library was the feature tree to help create an inviting and homely environment for pupils.

Hertswood Academy

Revamp Reception Area & Year 13 classroom

Hertswood Academy is a senior school with sixth form in Borehamwood, Hertfordshire. Staff at the Academy wanted to revamp the reception area with updated office furniture and furnish the Year 13 room for a more flexible study environment.

County Supplies successfully managed the fit out of the Academy when it opened in 2019 and staff at the school were very happy with our professional service and delivery of the project. The school approached us again in 2022 to create a reception and large, open and flexible study space for Year 13.

Luan Wheeler, Account Manager sourced a supplier to visit the school, measure the reception area, render drawings, supply and install. She coordinated suppliers whilst working around the school, students and staff schedule to minimise disruption.

A cluster of stone oak top desks and workstation have modernised the reception area. The large classroom has now been converted with fresh tables and chairs suitable for the light and airy sixth form study area.

The school received regular updates and the project was finished in time for the new school term. Staff and students are delighted with the new furniture.

Our 6th form has been judged good by Ofsted and we wanted to continue to improve and invest in our 6th formers. We wanted a more ‘grown up’, workplace style environment for the Year 13 room and the new furniture has really helped to create this.

Canteen & Library Wall Art

Wilbury, a member of the Agora Learning Partnership offers learning to children aged 7 – 11.

The school previously had a computer area that was no longer in use or needed and they wanted to convert it into an impressive library for their pupils. The space has been transformed with colourful and engaging imagery of ‘James and the Giant Peach’, ‘Paddington’ & ‘The Lion Witch and the Wardrobe’ and complimented with colourful lighting, displays of themed events and colourful soft seating for the students.

The canteen now has impactful messaging that promotes the school’s ethos and values.

The wall art has been warmly received and spoken of positively by staff, pupils and parents. It provides opportunities for learning & engagement, promoting values and also improves the environment for pupils. Romans Field School is a Special School in Milton Keynes for children aged 5 to 11.
