HISTORICAL PLACES RELATED TO HISTORICAL PLACES RELATED TO Joang '45 Building
The Joang '45 building is one of the buildings which witnessed Indonesia's battle for independence. The building is located at Jalan Menteng Raya 13, Kebon Sirih, Menteng, Central Jakarta. Gedung Joang '45 was used as a training center, dormitory, and discussion room to exchange ideas for many youths, such as Sukarni, Caherul Saleh, Wikana, Achmad Soebardjo, BM Diah, Adam Malik, Sayuti Melik, Soerastri Karma Trimurti, Latif Hendraningrat, S. Suhud, and Trimurti.
Now, this building has become a museum exhibiting many paintings about the events surrounding proclamation of Indonesia’s independence. There are also several dioramas depicting the atmosphere of Joeang 45 during the independence period and Bung Karno's speech at the Great Meeting at IKADA Field on September 19, 1945. Then, there were three vehicles used by the first president and vice president of the Republic of Indonesia.
Rengasdengklok House The house of Djiaw Kie Siong or known as Rengasdengklok House is also one of the historical places that is closely related to the kidnapping of Bung Karno and Bung Hatta by the revolutionary youths Chaerul Saleh, Soekarni, and Wikana. The green house that is still standing today is known to belong to a Chinese farmer named Djiaw Kie Siong, which is located around the Citarum River. However, in 1957, Bung Karno ordered for this house to be moved to avoid overflowing mud and erosion. Now, the historic building is located in RT. 1/RW. 9, Kalijaya Village, Rengasdengklok, Karawang Regency, West Java, just behind the proclamation monument.

INDONESIA'S INDEPENDENCE INDONESIA'S INDEPENDENCE Majapahit Hotel
Residents cheer as the Red and White flag rises at Hotel Majapahit during the theatrical tearing of Dutch flag at Hotel Yamato, now Hotel Majapahit, on Jalan Tunjungan, Surabaya, East Java. Located in the heart of Surabaya, the hotel, formerly known as Hotel Yamato, played an important role in the battle of Surabaya. At that time, angry Indonesian youths tore up the Dutch flag and replaced it with an Indonesian flag. This moment also seems to be an important historical moment as a trigger for the events of November 10, 1945. For those of you who want to know more about the history of Hotel Yamato, you can take a tour of the hotel.
proclamation monument The Proclamation Monument is one of the historical monuments that is a silent witness to the struggle for Indonesian independence. Actually, this monument is not the location where the proclamation text was read. This monument was built because Soekarno's residence on Jalan Pegangsaan Timur 56 no longer existed and was damaged in 1960. Therefore, on January 1, 1961 Bung Karno carried out the first excavation for the construction of Tugu Petir which was later called the Proclamation Monument.

In this location, it is also stated, "This is where the Proclamation of Indonesian Independence was written on August 17, 1945 at 10.00 am by Bung Karno and Bung Hatta". Located at Jalan Proklamasi 56, Central Jakarta, this monument has two large Soekarno-Hatta statues. In the middle of the two Soekarno-Hatta statues there is a statue of proclamation text made of black marble stone slabs.
