Boerne Lodge made a $300 donation to The Rainbow Senior Center at Kronkosky Place in Boerne. This is where the lodge holds its meetings. President Barbara D’Spain, left, and Secretary Marilyn Vogt, right, presented the check to Emily Perry, director of operations.

Prinz Solms Lodge

Prinz Solms Lodge donated to the Provisions Food Bank in Bulverde. President Clif Klabunde presented the check to Weslea Miller, executive director of the food pantry.

Austin Lodge

Austin Lodge adopted the Ronald McDonald House. The lodge furnished an evening meal for residents consisting of chicken tenders, mashed potatoes, green beans, rolls, tea and cookies. The lodge also furnished 51 snack bags, 50 candy bags, cereal cups and mac and cheese cups. A monetary donation of $1,000 was made to be used where needed. This project was chosen because of all the children in the hospital with COVID whose family members are staying at the Ronald McDonald House. TWIN SISTERS – The Dec. 5 gathering of Twin Sisters Lodge will include the traditional Christmas celebration. The meeting will be followed by a meal and bingo.

The menu will be furnished as follows: warmed ham by the Ethridge family; potatoes and bread by Georgia Hartmann; and corn by Jan Gass. Desserts will be furnished by Deborah Knoll and Nancy Weber.

Members are asked to bring bingo prizes.

A Nominating Committee of Stephen Gass, Jerry Gass, Kent Weber and Herm Weber will select a slate of officers for 2022 and present it at the meeting.

At the October meeting, the Humanitarian Award for 2021 was presented to Stephen Hartman in recognition of his service to the lodge and the community.

Trustees reported that Jerry Gass had mowed around the building and Marcus and Maverick Ethridge had trimmed. Members expressed their thanks.

Stephen Hartmann brought to the attention of the members and in the best interest of the lodge that any sale of the lodge’s property would need membership approval. It was also suggested that the lodge consider spending money on building improvements.

A moment of silence was observed in memory of John A. Didway Jr. of Johnson City. He passed away July 15, 2021, at the age of 76.

Welcomed guests were Kyle Hass and Levi Gass who were there with Jan and Jerry Gass.

Director Stan Steiger gave a short report on the Membership Appreciation Picnic held Sept. 18 at Hilltop Camp.

Members approved a $50 donation to the Retirement Home Christmas Fund.

Jerry Gass reported that road construction on FM 476 East would be completed soon and the pile dumped in front of the lodge building would be cleared away.

Celebrating October birthdays were Jerry Gass, Myron Ethridge, Nancy Weber and Stan Steiger.

Door prize winners were Laurie Hartmann, who was not present, and Kaden Morash. Myron Ethridge and Kaden and Ethan Morash assisted with the door prize drawing.

The Octoberfest meal included sausage provided by the Knoll family and sides and desserts provided by members. – Karen Steiger
