Camp 2021 registration to open soon! By IAN BRASSETT Executive Camp Director Everyone at Hermann Sons Life Camp is excited to announce that registration for the summer of 2021 will begin this month. Unfortunately, the winter storm that closed the Home Office for a week has delayed the mailing of the registration brochures but they should be in the mail by the middle of the month. Campers and parents who already have a Class Juggler account will be able to register as soon as they receive the email giving them the information they need to get the ball rolling. Our youngest campers and those without a registration account will have to wait until they get the brochure via regular mail. A lot of work has gone into preparing Camp for what promises to be an incredibly fun and safe summer. As the Executive Director, I am directly responsible for everything and everybody that is on our Camp grounds. It is a responsibility I do not take lightly. Preparing to operate Camp in a pandemic environment has proven to be quite the challenge. By carefully planning the summer’s activities and programs, Vice President of Member Benefits Cecily Kelly, my staff and I believe the Camp can operate in 2021.
I am very excited that Pamela Nentwich and Keaton Trainer will be returning. Pamela will be assuming the role of Riverside Director and Keaton will be assuming the role of Hilltop Director. Staffing is coming along very well and we expect to have a full staff for both sites. We are still looking for a couple more cooks and housekeepers. TWO WEEKS AND 14-YEAR-OLDS! Registration will remain open through the summer. Registration for individual weeks will close two weeks prior to the opening day of each session. To allow for the Camp to run at capacity, we will again be offering a second week to those campers who wish to participate in more than one week of summer fun! A camper may enroll for their second week after May 15. This ensures that everyone has at least two months to enroll in their first session. In 2019, there was a waiting list in a couple of sessions, so I advise you to enroll early to avoid the disappointment of not getting the session of your choice. In 2020, we had planned to allow 14-year-olds to enroll in Camp. We will again be offering Camp to our junior members up to and through the age of 14. See FINAL, Pg. 6
