Paul Vogt supports three causes

BOERNE – Paul Vogt Lodge has supported three worthwhile causes in its community recently.

The lodge hosted a fajita dinner to present much needed children’s winter jackets to the Boerne Women’s Shelter.

The Women’s Shelter also supports young men who may be displaced and seek shelter as well as older or elderly men who may find themselves in need of shelter.

The lodge also showed its support to the Fair Oaks Ranch Elementary School teachers and staff. This year the lodge had Riverside Catering prepare and deliver breakfast.

Paul Vogt officers Barbara Marquardt and Pamela Poulk were there to present the meal in observance of Make a Difference Day.

Last year the lodge did the same for Van Raub Elementary School.

For Veterans Day, the lodge donated cash to the Tunnel to Tower Foundation in support of their mission that honors the sacrifice of firefighter Stephen Siller who laid down his life to save others on 9-11. They also honor military and first responders who continue to make the supreme sacrifice.

The Tunnel to Towers Foundation builds mortgage-free smart homes for the most catastrophically injured veterans and first responders. Each home is designed to address the unique needs of each individual. Smart homes host a myriad of features such as automated doors and lighting, wider halls and doorways, special showers to accommodate wheelchairs, automatic door openers, cabinets, counters and stove tops that can be raised and lowered, back-up generators and central heating and air conditioning systems that can be controlled by tablets.
