Their role as guardians against evil spirits will surely be compromised when these Foo dogs are distracted by an admiring public coming in for a closer look. The dynamic pair reflects multiple layers of history and symbolism from their role as Chinese guardian lions down to their pattern of a stylized chrysanthemum flower which symbolizes longevity. However, in this case, the duo needs to be resigned to the fact that their more noble function will take a back seat to the lure of aesthetics found in the striking combination of their sapphire color offset by 24K gold.

A snapshot of everyday life in a pride of lions, the very social and family driven life of these big cats is beautifully captured in this newest addition to the Reserve Collection. Usually seen in a tawny color to blend in with the grasslands and plains where she lives, Herend’s lioness may not be as effective a hunter without the help of camouflage. But with a new mosaic fishnet color combination of gold, terracotta and chocolate, she makes such a stunning presence that for once the king of the jungle may prepare dinner for her instead of the other way around.

The cub has not fully grown into his colors yet but is already showing that he takes after his mother with his beautiful terracotta fishnet coat.

Flirting and flouncing and probably engaging in some flattering, two love-struck peacocks try their best to outdo their romantic rival in an attempt to win the favor of a peahen. The quivering, determined energy of their mock dual is wonderfully captured in this figurine created by sculptor Eva Vastagh in 1937. For this new interpretation of the figurine, the peacocks have contributed their own famous covert feathers but the artists at Herend have aided them in their quest for love by adding a striking combination of blue and key lime fishnet.
