Course structure What is an Extended Diploma?

Year One HCA offers Extended Diplomas in five broad subject areas. Generally, the first year is spent exploring different elements of that subject through specific rotations with, and projects led by subject specialists. This includes working with real-world clients and visiting professionals.

An Extended Diploma is the equivalent of three A Levels - and recognised to that level by universities and employers.

Year Two In your final year you begin to narrow down your interests and explore one or two areas in depth. This structure builds towards a Final Major Project, which is a chance to refine and present your interests, ideas and the skills you have learned during the course. You will have the opportunity to showcase your work in a series of major public performances and exhibitions that draw an audience of thousands to campus every summer.

At HCA, your qualification will be awarded by the internationally renowned University of Arts London Awarding Body.

Using your FMP As your own ‘Project Manager’ for your FMP, you design, research and document your project with guidance from staff. This makes FMPs a huge asset when it comes to interviewing for further study, or employment.
