Van Nuys, California – Moticont has added to its line of linear DC motors. The LVCM032-076-02 Linear Voice Coil Motor has a stroke length of 2.5" (63.5mm) with a high force-to-size ratio of 1.8 lb (8.0N) and a peak force of 5.7 lb (25.3N) at 10% duty cycle. The clean, quiet, efficient, low-inertia, high acceleration, brushless, high-speed linear DC motor has zero cogging and features high accuracy and high repeatability when operated in a closed loop as a DC servo motor.

Easily integrated into new and existing applications, the motor features a 10-32 UNC2B threaded mounting hole in the center of the housing and two 6-32-UNC-2B threaded mounting holes on the coil end. The compact 1.25" (31.8mm) diameter LVCM-032-076-02 Linear Voice Coil Motor (also called a moving coil motor) is for: Medical devices, scanners and laser beam steering and filtering, work holding and clamping, assembly, testing, laser machining and drilling, wafer handling, optical focusing, and dynamic vibration absorption.

System to power new-generation electric aircraft and urban air mobility vehicles.

A new hybrid-electric turbogenerator from Honeywell will debut at the HAI Heli-Expo in Atlanta next month to showcase the company‟s growing role in the urban air mobility segment, highlighted by Honeywell advancements in electric and hybridelectric propulsion systems.

Honeywell‟s prototype system combines the HTS900 engine with two compact, high-power density generators.

Each generator provides 200kW, which combined is enough to power 40 average American homes running air conditioning at full blast. The system burns conventional or bio-derived jet fuel and can feed motors or high-capacity batteries.

“This redefines powered flight by providing electricity to spare in a safe, light package built for aviation,” said Bryan Wood, senior director of Honeywell‟s hybrid-electric and electric propulsion programs. “As the urban air mobility segment grows, Honeywell is providing safe, reliable propulsion solutions as well as a host of other aviation technologies that are ready to install today on next-generation vehicles.”

Conventional aircraft use fuel-burning engines to mechanically turn rotors, propellers, or fans. But many new aircraft designs incorporate multiple electric motors, which can be tilted or turned off for vertical take-off and horizontal flight. Aircraft designers believe this could usher in a new era of quiet, efficient, point-to-point aviation. A single Honeywell turbogenerator could power multiple electric motors located anywhere on an aircraft.

Honeywell has rapidly expanded its presence in urban air mobility, offering avionics, propulsion, flight controls, navigation, collision avoidance, power generation, actuation, logistics, satellite communication, and connectivity technologies to companies developing new aircraft.

In January, the company announced its work with Pipistrel Vertical Solutions to develop systems for a vertical take-off and landing air vehicle that will eventually be capable of fully autonomous flight.

Honeywell already provides onboard power, with systems on airliners, business jets, and military and rotary aircraft worldwide.

The company‟s solutions offer reliable electric current from 5kW to 200kW in constant speed, variable frequency, and direct current configurations. Honeywell is now testing the aerospace industry‟s first 1MW generator.

The turbogenerator will be on display March 5-7 at Honeywell‟s Booth C3107 during the show at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta.

Getafe, 21 February 2019 – Airbus has successfully completed the certification flight tests for the A400M Cargo Hold Tanks (CHT) refueling unit, taking a new step towards the full certification of the aircraft for air-to-air refueling operations as a tanker.

The campaign, performed together with the Spanish Air Force Test Centre (CLAEX), featured a total of nine flights where 90 tonnes of fuel were dispensed to Spanish Air Force F-18 receivers and to another A400M prototype as a representative heavy aircraft receiver.

The test campaign included the development and certification of the Cargo Hold Tanks with the latest Fuel Quantity Management System software, to be certified during 2019, enhancement of the night refueling vision system and preliminary testing of helicopter air-to-air refueling capabilities.

Saab has taken another important step forward to expand its footprint and aerospace ecosystem in India by signing new Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with three of the country‟s leading aerospace manufacturers; Dynamatic Technologies Limited, CIM Tools Private Limited and Sansera Engineering Limited.

The MoUs with CIM Tools and Sansera expand the existing working relationships with Saab on commercial aerostructures to the Gripen fighter and other defencerelated products in the Saab portfolio. The MoU with Dynamatic is a starting point to explore future joint opportunities in commercial and defence-related aerostructures work, including Gripen.

“Saab‟s Aerostructures business unit has had a successful relationship with CIM Tools and Sansera for several years. Based on that experience we see these two companies can add great value to our Gripen „Make in India‟ offer,” says Mats Palmberg, VP Industrial Partnerships and Head of Gripen for India. “The MoU with Dynamatic adds the capabilities of complex airframe assembly to Saab‟s „Make in India‟ offer for Gripen,” continues Palmberg.

“I am pleased that the fruitful co-operation we have established over several years with CIM Tools and Sansera can be further developed for the Gripen fighter. Collaboration and knowledge-sharing are the keys to success when building a successful indigenous aerospace ecosystem. In late December, Saab received an order from the Capability Acquisition Sustainment Group (CASG) on behalf of the Australian Army to update the Wireless Audio Visual Emergency System (WAVES) equipment for the Counter Rocket, Artillery and Mortar (C-RAM) System. The WAVES equipment provides early warning audible and visual alerts when the C-RAM sensors detect and identify an incoming threat within an exclusion zone.

The C-RAM capability (which comprises of multiple sensors, C2 nodes and warning systems) is an essential capability to protect friendly forces from hostile fire by detecting and warning against small, mobile and hard-to-find threats such as rockets, artillery and mortar fire. The Commonwealth‟s C-RAM solution is built around the Saab Giraffe Agile Multi-Beam (AMB) radar which is part of a family of ground-based radars that can detect a range of incoming threats, from mortar and artillery rounds and rockets to small drones and fast moving aircraft.

“This is further proof of Saab‟s strong position as a C-RAM worldwide supplier With the Giraffe AMB as the surface radar system of choice for a number of customers worldwide, including Australia, United Kingdom, Sweden and France”, says Anders Carp, head of Saab AB‟s business area Surveillance.

Saab Australia provides the In-Service Support for the Australian Defence Force CRAM system.

Member States representatives together with cyber research experts from the European Cyber Security Organisation (ECSO), industry, research organisations and academia recently met at an EDA workshop to discuss Page 14 of 38

‘Autonomous Cyber Responses’. This research topic refers to the challenges brought about by the automation in cyber defence and includes among others self-configured networks, automated cyber resilience, decision support systems, visual analytics, autonomous mobile cyber defence agents, manmachine modules and machine learning models to address the cyber research challenges Member States’ Armed Forces are confronted with.

The objective of the workshop was to provide EDA‟s Cyber Research and Technology Ad Hoc Working Group with examples of European research efforts and solutions, to identify capability gaps that could be covered with this technology and to explore new collaboration initiatives in this challenging field.

Participants acknowledged the urgency of meaningful collaborative research activities at EU level in view of building tomorrow‟s defence capabilities, and supported the continuation of similar initiatives. A so-called „Interested Community of Experts‟ (ICE) set up within the Ad Hoc Working Group will perform an evaluation of the proposals discussed at the workshop. Outline descriptions for future collaborative research projects in this field are expected to be presented to Member States in the upcoming meetings.

Background The potential benefits that European Armed Forces could draw from the use of cyber-resilient autonomous systems have also been recognised by EU Member States. One of the 11 EU Capability Development Priorities approved by Member States in June 2018 is called “Enabling capabilities for cyber responsive operations”.

The Overarching Strategic Research Agenda (OSRA) - which provides a necessary link between R&T efforts and the military tasks and long-term capability needs of the Capability Development Plan (CDP) - identified a number of Research and Technology areas, the so-called Technology Building Blocks (TBBs), in which a cooperative approach at the European level would bring an added-value to support the development of defence capabilities. The Strategic Research Agenda (SRA) on Cyber Defence developed within the relevant EDA Ad Hoc Working Group in compliance with OSRA requirements provides informed prioritisation on cyber-related technologies necessary for the military while identifying opportunities for dual-use efforts and investments, be it in national, multinational or EU-funded contexts.

Autonomous Cyber Response is one of the TBBs developed under the Cyber SRA. In November 2018, the European Council adopted an updated version of the EU cyber defence policy framework (CDPF) which calls for considering cyber defence issues in the calls of the Preparatory Action on Defence Research and in the topics called for in the European Defence Fund.

The results for the year (prepared in accordance with IFRS and, in particular with IFRS 15), show, for the fourth year running, and in accordance with our business plan, an increase in sales (+13% to €3.6 billion) and a sharp improvement in our operating profitability, as well as in group net income, which amounts to nearly €180 million. These results reveal the robust implementation and operational control of our different programs and the impact of our internal improvement plans. These results enabled us to hire more than 1,500 new employees in 2018 and raised our overall capital investment effort to more than €400 million. We must now consolidate these operating profitability levels and ensure their long-term sustainability. Our development will be measured by the implementation of the military programming law for French markets and by international development. Order intake: 3.7 billion euros Order intake recorded in financial year 2018 amounted to €3,686 million enabling the renewal of the order book which amounted to €13,830 million. Orders recorded in France and overseas for financial year 2018 boosted all sectors. In France, in new construction, the main notifications concerned the nuclear–powered attack submarine (SSN) program Barracuda and the multimission frigates (FREMM) program. In services, several multi-year availability contracts were notified, particularly for Le Terrible, the ballistic-missile submarine, multimission frigates, nuclear–powered attack submarines and minesweepers (CMT). notifications mainly concerned the Argentine patrol boats program as well as a section of additional work relating to the future submarine program for Australia (AFS).

It is recalled that 2017 benefited from a particularly high level of orders taken, in particular due to the notification of the program for future defence and intervention frigates (e.g.

FTI).

In the last two years from 2017 to 2018, the Book-to-Bill ratio (orders taken divided by sales), which is a measure of the order book‟s renewal rate, is 1.13.

Activity: sales up by 13% Consolidated sales stood at €3,608 million. The 13% growth over 2017 was mainly driven by major national programs, in particular the Barracuda nuclear–powered attack submarine and the FREMM. The international markets benefited from the strong contribution of Brazil and Australia, while services also contributed significantly, in particular through the modernisation programme for the Charles de Gaulle aircraft carrier and the M51 adaptation program for the SSBN Le Téméraire.

Profitability: significant growth of EBITA and operating profit EBITA (earnings before interest, taxes and amortisation) amounted to €265.9 million.

Its increase (170%), greater than that for revenues, translates into a further improvement of operating profit, which increased from 3.1% in 2017 (after restatement under IFRS 15) to 7.4% in 2018, i.e., an increase of 4,3 percentage points.

This robust momentum reflects the operational improvement of all naval programs and the effectiveness of the improvement plans implemented for more than four years now.

The group net income amounts to €178.2 million, an increase of almost €85 million compared to 2017 (restated under IFRS 15). It reflects the consequences of the liquidation in July 2018 of our tidal turbine activities carried out by OpenHydro, subsidiary of Naval Energies. This performance raises the group‟s consolidated equity to more than €1 billion, thus strengthening its capacity to finance its future growth.

Outlook: an increase in recruitment and investments; continuation of costcontrol initiatives The gains achieved through the industrial and social pact allow Naval Group to invest, the prerequisite for its development. In 2018, Naval Group hired more than 1,500 new employees and this momentum is set to continue, thanks in particular to the Campus initiatives of naval industries in the area of vocational training.

Naval Group is also stepping up its investments in self-financed research and development, data systems, infrastructures and industrial tools and equipment for studies or production.

In particular, Naval Group has spent several years getting ready to implement digital maintenance on board its ships and intends to generalise i-maintenance. The installation of this digital integrated support will make predictive maintenance activities possible. The Aquitaine FREMM was the first to benefit from this technology in November 2018 in Brest and will be followed by L‟Auvergne in spring 2019 in Toulon before this service is proposed to all of the company‟s customers.

Throughout the 2019 reporting period, Naval Group will pursue its initiative to continuously improve the competitiveness of its offers and current programs, both in France and on international markets, driven in particular by the control of costs and lead times and acceleration of innovation cycles. The ability to attain its commercial and operational objectives should allow the group to maintain high operating profit levels over a long period.

Medicii au declarat decesul uneia dintre persoanele aflate în carlinga avionului de instrucţie şi agrement bimotor DA 42 care a aterizat forţat joi după-amiază în apropierea aeroportului Tuzla, din cauze necunoscute, informează purtătorul de cuvânt al Serviciului de Ambulanţă Judeţean (SAJ) Constanţa, Claudia Tatarici.

Potrivit sursei citate, persoana declarată decedată la bordul avionului bimotor DA 42 era un elev, în vârstă de 50 de ani, care efectua un zbor de antrenament alături de instructorul şcolii de pilotaj de la Tuzla.

Pilotul instructor are mai multe traumatisme şi urmează să intre în operaţie la Spitalul Clinic Judeţean de Urgenţă Constanţa. Ştirea iniţială O aeronavă de şcoală şi agrement, cu două persoane la bord, a aterizat forţat joi după-amiază, pe câmp, în zona aeroportului Tuzla, din cauze necunoscute, informează purtătorul de cuvânt al Inspectoratului pentru Situaţii de Urgenţă (ISU) Dobrogea, Anca Chiriţă.

Aparatul de zbor este unul bimotor de tip Diamond Aircraft (DA) 42, incidentul având loc în jurul orei 16.00.

Domnule Președinte Almunia, Domnule Prim-vicepreședinte Timmermans, Doamnelor și domnilor, Este un privilegiu deosebit să particip la reuniunile anuale ale Centrului pentru Studii Politice Europene (CEPS), într-un moment de maximă importanță pentru Uniune.

Desigur, mă gândesc și la alegerile pentru Parlamentul European, dar nu numai.

După cum reiese din tema reuniunii de anul acesta, noi, în calitate de cetățeni europeni, trebuie să facem alegerile corecte, astfel încât viitorul Uniunii să fie asigurat de continuarea proiectului care a promovat permanent pacea și reconstrucția economică după cel de-al Doilea Război Mondial. Este vorba despre același proiect care a ajutat țările central și est-europene să „revină în Europa” după căderea Zidului Berlinului.

Centrul pentru Studii Politice Europene reprezintă un excelent cadru pentru dezbaterea provocărilor uriașe cu care se confruntă Uniunea noastră la momentul actual. CEPS reunește oficiali de rang înalt din instituții ale UE și din guverne naționale, precum și reprezentanți ai mediului academic, ai societății civile și ai cercurilor de afaceri. Mă adresez dvs. nu numai în numele Băncii Naționale a României, ci și ca reprezentant al unei țări care deține președinția rotativă a Consiliului UE. Îmi exprim încrederea că vom fi capabili să ne îndeplinim mandatul și să promovăm proiecte importante pentru Uniune.

Permiteți-mi ca, în minutele pe care le am la dispoziție, să insist asupra unor aspecte de natură economică.

Dezbaterea noastră este cu atât mai importantă cu cât are loc într-un moment de relativă încetinire a creșterii economice la nivel european și de eroziune a multilateralității, precum și de propagare a conflictelor comerciale. Perspectiva unui Brexit fără un acord între părți este foarte supărătoare pentru noi toți și încă sper Page 30 of 38

foarte mult ca un astfel de deznodământ să fie evitat. Totodată, este momentul să ajungem la un consens cu privire la cadrul financiar multianual, astfel încât provocările serioase cu care se confruntă Uniunea (protecția frontierelor, atacurile cibernetice, schimbările climatice, conflictele din zone mai apropiate sau mai îndepărtate etc.) să se concilieze cu necesitatea de a menține coeziunea Uniunii și de a evita fragmentarea în continuare a acesteia.

De asemenea, am încredere că liderii UE vor avea o abordare echilibrată a principalelor vulnerabilități instituționale și de politică din zona euro. Menționez acest aspect întrucât România, la fel ca alte state care nu fac parte din zona euro, este obligată prin tratatele de aderare la UE să adopte, în cele din urmă, moneda unică. Și sperăm că acest lucru se va întâmpla într-un viitor nu foarte îndepărtat. În acest sens, aș dori să menționez că, recent, au fost finalizate două documente importante în vederea aderării României la zona euro (un raport analitic și un plan de acțiune), care sunt în atenția partidelor politice și a Parlamentului pentru a fi examinate și aprobate. Am fost unul dintre vicepreședinții Comisiei Naționale care a coordonat finalizarea celor două documente.

Ar trebui să menționez că suntem conștienți de eforturile care trebuie făcute pentru ca aderarea la zona euro să fie un succes. Indiferent de cât de mult se dorește accelerarea acestui proces, succesul său depinde de îndeplinirea unei mase critice a criteriilor de convergență reală și structurală cu zona euro. Învățămintele crizei din zona euro ne pun, fără echivoc, în fața acestei realități. Cu cât zona euro devine mai robustă, ca urmare a reformelor instituționale și politice, cu atât mai bine pentru noi. În privința reformelor la nivelul zonei euro, aș dori să evidențiez, pe de o parte, respectul față de norme și de punerea lor în aplicare și, pe de altă parte, introducerea sistemelor de partajare a riscurilor. Printre acestea din urmă se numără un sistem european de asigurare a depozitelor (EDIS) – care, împreună cu un Fond unic de rezoluție (SRF) mult mai puternic, va completa Uniunea bancară – și introducerea unor instrumente care să ajute statele membre ale UE să facă față șocurilor asimetrice. Din acest punct de vedere, are sens un buget al zonei euro.

Vă rog să-mi permiteți să fac unele comentarii referitoare la contextul macroeconomic din Europa. Redresarea economică din ultimii ani a depins în măsură covârșitoare de operațiunile neconvenționale efectuate de principalele bănci centrale și de ratele foarte scăzute ale dobânzilor.

Există încă niveluri înalte ale datoriei publice și private, care reprezintă o povară în special pentru țările zonei euro și care complică misiunea de normalizare a politicii monetare, de încetare a operațiunilor neconvenționale ale BCE. Din fericire, unele țări din regiunea noastră (inclusiv România) se află într-o situație mult mai bună din această perspectivă.

Inflația foarte scăzută îi determină pe unii să afirme că normalizarea politicii monetare ar trebui să mai aștepte încă, dar nu trebuie subestimate efectele perfide.

Este însă probabil ca normalizarea politicii monetare – înțeleasă drept revenirea la Page 31 of 38

niveluri real-pozitive ale ratei dobânzii de politică monetară – să fie un proces de durată, mai ales în Europa.

Riscuri majore persistă sau chiar sunt în creștere în economia mondială; acestea se datorează interconectării și sincronizării ciclurilor economice, căutării de randamente ridicate care a alimentat din nou bule speculative importante, tendinței de a recurge la măsuri protecționiste (care se adaugă tendințelor de fragmentare), precum și acumulării de riscuri sistemice pe piețele nebancare. În ceea ce privește politica monetară, permiteți-mi să amintesc unele provocări.

Modelele pe care le folosesc băncile centrale au fost derutante în câteva rânduri; încă nu avem răspunsuri clare la întrebarea de ce inflația continuă să fie atât de scăzută în majoritatea țărilor UE, în pofida redresării economice.

Preocupările legate de stabilitatea financiară se află tot mai des în atenția noastră.

Există și alte nedumeriri, cum ar fi aplatizarea curbei Phillips, și aș menționa aici scăderea intermedierii financiare în unele state din afara zonei euro – în România și Ungaria în special. Acesta pare să fie un caz tipic de redresare în absența creditării, dar poate fi și rezultatul integrării financiare – întrucât companiile internaționale preferă să obțină credite de pe piețele externe (unde pot fi mai ieftine).

Ciclul financiar global constituie o provocare semnificativă. Aceasta se datorează și operațiunilor principalelor bănci centrale, măsurilor neconvenționale ale acestora; inversarea politicii monetare poate genera dificultăți majore, în special în cazul unui nivel ridicat de îndatorare externă, publică și/sau privată.

După cum afirmă Hélène Rey, este posibil ca trilema (fluxuri libere de capital, stabilitatea cursului de schimb și o politică monetară autonomă) să se fi transformat într-o dilemă; iar puterea politicii monetare ar consta în capacitatea de a controla fluxurile de capital – ceea ce reprezintă o misiune extrem de dificilă. Apelul tot mai frecvent la instrumentele macroprudențiale dovedește că o formă de facto de control al capitalurilor revine în actualitate, atât pentru a asigura eficiența politicii monetare, cât și din considerente de stabilitate financiară.

Aș afirma și că flexibilitatea cursului de schimb a contribuit foarte mult la implementarea ajustării macroeconomice, acesta fiind și cazul României.

Subdezvoltarea creează provocări suplimentare pentru politica monetară, de vreme ce procesul de recuperare a decalajelor este însoțit de creșterea inflației (efectul Balassa-Samuelson). Poate că aceasta nu reprezintă o problemă în momentul de față, dat fiind contextul general, însă probabil va deveni o chestiune deranjantă în viitorul nu prea îndepărtat.

Migrația capitalului uman (care este foarte intensă în unele țări, inclusiv în România) exercită, de asemenea, o presiune puternică asupra salariilor și alimentează inflația.

Permiteți-mi acum să abordez câteva aspecte privind reglementarea. Este general acceptat în rândul specialiștilor, al nostru, al bancherilor centrali, că sectorul bancar european și-a curățat în mare parte bilanțurile și dispune de o capitalizare mai bună. În mod similar, reformele în domeniul reglementării și al supravegherii industriei financiare ne-au dus în direcția bună, fiind înregistrate progrese semnificative în vederea creșterii siguranței băncilor noastre. Cu toate acestea, sunt încă multe de făcut pentru a se atinge un nivel de confort adecvat. Înainte de finalul intervenției mele, aș dori să mă refer la amenințarea protecționismului. Un risc enorm pentru economia globală îl reprezintă tentația de a Page 32 of 38

renunța la angajamentul față de multilateralism și de a îmbrățișa protecționismul.

Politicile de „sărăcire a vecinilor” (beggar thy neighbour) sunt foarte periculoase, după cum demonstrează clar istoria. Cu siguranță, comerțul trebuie să fie atât liber, cât și echitabil, iar angajamentele asumate în cadrul Organizației Mondiale a Comerțului și al altor forumuri trebuie respectate. Dacă nu apărăm piețele libere, putem deschide ușa unor conflicte comerciale de proporții și proliferării situațiilor de pe urma cărora toată lumea are de pierdut.

Dați-mi voie să închei afirmând că, în calitate de oficial român, sunt încrezător că sau luat deja măsuri importante pentru a se asigura o cooperare mai strânsă în vederea soluționării aspectelor menționate anterior.

După cum știți, în momentul de față România deține Președinția Consiliului Uniunii Europene, iar echipele noastre de la București și Bruxelles au obținut deja rezultate bune. Acestea au organizat 15 grupuri de lucru la nivelul Consiliului, au purtat negocieri în 18 ședințe de trialog cu Parlamentul European, au participat la peste 30 de întâlniri tehnice, printre care întâlniri bilaterale, consultări informale cu Parlamentul și Comisia. S-au finalizat lucrările și s-a convenit asupra a două dosare (Măsurile de reducere a riscurilor – pachetul bancar și Produsul Pan-european de pensii personale). S-a ajuns la un acord politic cu Parlamentul în ceea ce privește alte două dosare (Distribuția transfrontalieră a fondurilor și Regulamentul revizuit privind infrastructura pieței europene). Înțeleg că la nivelul Consiliului s-a stabilit o abordare generală asupra dosarului referitor la Sistemul european al supravegherii financiare.

Sunt convins că vom avea în continuare rezultate bune și că eforturile susținute ale tuturor părților implicate vor da roade. Poate că viitorul este incert, dar noi cu siguranță putem încerca să fim mai bine pregătiți.
