LAB VISION LIVE This unique one-day event brings together a selection of renowned speakers presenting the full 3Shape digital workflow for technicians. It will include hands-on demonstrations, practical experiences, tips and tricks and an exhibition area showcasing the very latest innovations in technology.

SPEAKERS LAB VISION LIVE Dan Barber Dan is a GDC registered dental technician with many years of intense experience in a high pressure environment through his training in one of the largest labs in the UK. He has taken the skills he developed in this environment and enhanced them when he decided to break away and dedicate his skills to a digitally assisted workflow.

Since the hugely successful launch of Radiant Dental Lab, both Dan and his partner David Humphries have forged forward to become one of the most successful pioneering labs in the UK to merge digital workflow with bespoke artistry. Dan began learning about CADCAM early on in his career and has continued to learn and adapt the workflow to it.

Dan Holbek Dan has been heading up the Lab product management at 3Shape since 2018 with responsibility for 3Shape’s Lab solutions. Prior to joining 3Shape, Dan worked in health care at Novo Nordisk and as consultant with Bain & Co. Dan’s session will cover the key trends that shape the outlook for digital labs and how 3Shape can support labs in realising these opportunities.

Darren Kelsey Darren is a highly skilled, patient focused Clinical Dental Technician. He started his career as an apprentice Dental Technician working in NHS dental laboratories manufacturing dental appliances for dentists throughout Scotland.

Darren is extremely passionate about his work. His main focus is on quality, providing fixed and removable treatment solutions for his patients. He continues to progress his knowledge on various courses throughout the UK and abroad, keeping up to date with the latest developments in dentistry.

Speakers

Doug Watt

Doug graduated from Birmingham University in 2003, and was then awarded membership of the Faculty of General Practitioners in 2005. In 2008 and 2009, he completed two year-long restorative dentistry courses with Tipton Training in Manchester and following this was awarded the Tipton Training Practical Restorative Dentist of the Year Award in 2009. Doug became a partner at the practice in 2013.

Doug is one of the practice implantologists at Euston Place Dental, Royal Leamington Spa, Warwickshire. He is also a board member of the International Digital Dental Academy. He enjoys all aspects of dentistry and has a particular interest in endodontics, restorative and aesthetic dentistry and implantology.

He regularly attends post-graduate courses to keep up to date with the latest developments.

Charlie Laity

Charlie Laity is the Orthodontic Product & Training Specialist at 3Shape UK. He provides consultancy, training and guidance to 3Shape partners and customers across UK & Ireland, facilitating the understanding and usage of the 3Shape Ortho System, including Clear Aligner Studio, Indirect Bonding Studio and Splint Studio.

Charlie is a qualified dental technician, with a BSc in Dental Technology, who used 3Shape’s digital innovations in a commercial environment before his employment with 3Shape.

Alex Mensikov

Alex Mensikov graduated from Cardiff Metropolitan University (UWIC) in 2009 with a FDSC in Dental Technology. He then worked at M & A Dental Lab, specialising in crown & bridge and digital work. Following that, he opened his own lab specialising in C&B/Prosthetics and moving the lab into digital. Since 2016, Alex has worked at Henry Schein Dental as a lab trainer and remote support technician.

Alex is passionate about providing digital software training to dental laboratories and helping them on their journey to becoming futuristic labs. He still maintains his own digital technician skills by still maintaining his GDC registration, installing new equipment in laboratories and assisting them with the bespoke work flows and training they require.

Stephen Green

Stephen adopted CADCAM at an early stage, and now celebrates 10 years as a CADCAM laboratory, and is a huge part of the manufacturing process in the lab in Nottingham.

Over 80% of the workload in the lab now incorporates CADCAM. The casting machine and laser welder lie dormant the majority of the time! With the introduction of CADCAM systems, the business expanded and became an incorporated company in 2011. Stephen’s vision has not changed over his long career he strives for excellence in all aspects of the work that the lab produces, and he still spends a fair amount of time at the bench.

With this wealth of experience, Stephen has become a “go to” authority for many dentists and suppliers in the industry.
