TO BE THE FOUNDATION FOR A VIBRANT, INNOVATIVE, CONNECTED & EXCEPTIONAL COMMUNITY.

LEADERSHIP CORNER

Spring signals more than a change in season. It marks a wave of momentum, imagination, and community connection across Henry County.

In 2026, Henry County Parks and Recreation is diving into a bold new chapter, and we could not be more excited about what lies ahead.

This year, we proudly anticipate the opening of our brand-new Aquatic Center, a transformative space designed for recreation, relaxation, learning, and unforgettable fun. Featuring dynamic pools, thrilling slides, engaging water games, inviting leisure areas, versatile classrooms, and welcoming community rooms, the Aquatic Center will be more than a destination. It will be a gathering place where families connect, friendships grow, and memories are made. Whether you are swimming laps, celebrating a birthday, taking a class, or simply enjoying a sunny afternoon poolside, this facility will offer something for every age and every stage of life.

And the excitement does not stop there.

In 2026, we continue expanding opportunities that empower and inspire. Our homeschool initiatives will strengthen creativity and communication skills. Youth athletics such as girls flag football will continue building confidence, teamwork, and leadership. Strategic partnerships will open doors to entrepreneurship, mentorship, and academic enrichment. As always, dozens of free community events throughout the year will bring neighbors together in celebration of all that makes Henry County special.

Each program, each event, each new space reflects our commitment to building a stronger, healthier, and more connected community. Your participation, enthusiasm, and support fuel everything we do. Together, we are shaping experiences and building a future filled with opportunity.

Thank you for being part of Henry County Parks and Recreation. The best is yet to come, and we cannot wait to make waves with you in 2026. BRAVO is a recognition program for Henry County Parks & Recreation Department employees, nominated by their peers to recognize them for going above and beyond expected roles within their job description and embracing our commitment to the Pillars of Excellence: Accountability, Collaboration, Fiscal Stewardship, Integrity, and Service. AQUATICS

Henry County Aquatics Center and Water Park Opening in 2026

The Henry County Aquatic Center is set to deliver a premier aquatic facility with world-class amenities, ensuring safety, accessibility, and community engagement. The center will offer diverse water-based activities, promoting recreation, relaxation, and sporting events. Key features include indoor/outdoor pools, stadium seating, modern support spaces and a thrilling water park! The building design harmonizes with its surroundings, emphasizing water connections and optimizing views. Utilizing an affordable hybrid construction approach with a simple material palette and building form, the center achieves efficiency without compromising on environmental responsibility.

With a 30-foot Slide Tower housing four different types of slides; one tube slide is “open body” and the second is “closed body”; one slide is a “speed slide” and the last is a “mat racer” that can accommodate up to four people at once. There’s also a mellow lazy river, a Waves LTD Wave Rider, a zero-depth Kiddie Pool area with water themed obstacles like the kid favorite big water dump bucket, an outdoor 25-yard lap pool, an indoor 50-meter competition pool, an indoor ADA compliant therapeutic multi-purpose, a food truck concessions area, AND a rooftop bar area with a great Henry County-esque view.

Key Features:

Indoor and Outdoor Pools: Temperature-controlled indoor pools for year-round use with two large screen monitors to help keep you up-to-date on all facility programs and events and outdoor pools with sun decks for enjoying the sun and fresh air with a big outdoor screen facing the water park areas.

Water Park: A thrilling water park with water slides, zero entry pool, lazy river, splash pad, and a wave rider for families and thrill-seekers.

Aquatic Fitness & Therapy Center: Specialized areas for water aerobics, aquatic yoga, and low-impact workouts, promoting fitness and joint health.

Children’s Play Area: A safe and interactive area with water features designed for kids to enjoy, learn, and develop essential swimming skills.
