Henry Teen Art Collective: Navigating the Pandemic

Pre-pandemic, the Henry Teen Art Collective would meet from 4:40 to 6:00pm in our room at the Henry Art Gallery and eat snacks and draw on tabletops, sometimes hosting guest artists or taking tours of the current exhibits. With our current situation, we spend our time on Zoom, with our only communal spaces being our Slack and group chat. Instead of bowls of pita chips and baby carrots, we’re sent snack boxes to the comfort of our own homes, and are making a quilt of individual canvases we have drawn on and sent around to replicate our past tablecloths. Like everything during the pandemic, the collective has either had to adapt our past model or let go of the things that we just can’t maintain.

Luckily, we’ve kept all of the important things together.
