SPONSORSHIP

Without the amazing support we receive from our Sponsors and Partners, we would not be able to stage the wonderful event that is Henley Festival. We are very lucky to have an incredible array of nationwide and local companies who have pledged their support to Henley Festival and RISE. These sponsors are at the heart of both Henley Festival and of our RISE programme.

Launched to celebrate our 40th Anniversary in 2022, RISE continues to go from strength to strength with many more performance and work experience opportunities being offered to emerging talent in the performing arts this year. Our Sponsors and Partners are key to this growth.

We are thrilled to have Westcoast as our Headline Sponsor again this year. Joe Hemani, Westcoast’s Founder and Chairman, and Westcoast have selected Hetta Falzon as this year’s Westcoast Rising Star Award recipient. The award is to celebrate outstanding achievement and great potential in music. Hetta will be performing during the Festival on the RISE Emerging Talent Stage presented by Westcoast, along with a host of other fantastic emerging musicians.

We are also grateful to our Platinum Sponsor, Audi, who are once again supporting our emerging visual artists in the Audi High RISE Gallery.

Once again, our thanks and gratitude go to all of our Sponsors and Partners. Henley Festival would not be possible without you!

RISE

RISE is Henley Festival’s charitable initiative that supports emerging talent in the creative industries. RISE offers unique opportunities across the festival, in production, on the stage and in the galleries. RISE provides participants with exposure, funding, and mentoring from art and music industry professionals, and from internationally recognised production companies.

New Music

Once again, the dedicated RISE Emerging Talent Stage, presented by Westcoast, will showcase music from aspiring musicians at the heart of the festival site. In 2024, the stage also marked the launch of the RISING Star Award, celebrating one outstanding musician from the programme.

Katya, winner of the 2024 RISING Star Award, says:

“Receiving Henley Festival’s RISING Star Award in 2024 was a huge confidence boost. It gave me significant exposure including interviews in various publications and on BBC Radio. This kind of support and exposure is invaluable, particularly for artists like myself who are fully independent. Since performing at Henley Festival, I’ve toured the UK opening for Paul Carrack on his 22date anniversary tour which culminated with a special show at the Royal Albert Hall.”

Future Masterpieces

In 2024, the work of RISE visual artists was showcased in the Audi High RISE Gallery, supported by Audi. One of the RISE visual artists, Rob Ware, explained: “Thank you for the amazing journey I've been on these last few months. All the support from RISE and Audi, Eric Collins and the climax at Henley Festival. Not many artists get to be the centre of attention (along with Conrad, Amie and Beatrice) and in association with such a big brand. Thank you for selecting me. I'll now do my best to tell the story over Instagram and let people know what happened! Looking forward to building from this...exciting times!”

Behind The Scenes

RISE also supports emerging professionals behind the scenes. This year, we’re excited to welcome talented photographer Max Brittan, who will be supporting the RISE programme by capturing timeless visual stories. Albie Porter was one of the sound engineering students who worked backstage with RG Jones in 2024, Henley Festival’s internationally acclaimed lighting and audio partner. “The support we received at the festival was just right. We were given the space to figure things out on our own, but if someone noticed we were struggling, they would step in and offer guidance. I learned so much while I was there, and it has solidified what I want to do for my career.”

RISE By Henley Festival Emerging Artist Prize

Earlier this year, we announced the RISE by Henley Festival Emerging Artist prize, created to acknowledge emerging talent in the visual arts. The award provides valuable recognition and awareness to outstanding visual artists, who are over the age of 18 and are in the early stages of their professional career. The three finalists are exhibiting in the Audi High RISE Gallerydon’t miss the chance to see their amazing work!

Education Henley

In partnership with Education Henley, the RISE programme is launching the Early Risers initiative, designed to give 16–18-year-old local students handson experience in performance and production. Talented young musicians will take to the RISE Stage during Playdate! @ Henley Festival on Sunday 13th July.

Looking To The Future

Thanks to the incredible support of sponsors, patrons, partners, and the Henley Festival audience, RISE is growing year by year. Looking ahead, the programme aims to offer even more funding, exposure, and mentoring opportunities for the next generation of creatives. RISE is proud to be part of their journey, helping to secure a vibrant future in the creative arts.

MCFLY

8.45PM

It’s been 21 years since McFly first formed, a journey which has taken them from their breakthrough hit ‘Five Colours In Her Hair’ to last year’s full-force rock album ‘Power To Play’.

Along the way Tom Fletcher, Danny Jones, Dougie Poynter and Harry Judd have scored seven #1 singles, seven Top 10 albums, 10 million sales leading to multiple Platinum certifications, a BRIT Award for Best British Pop, sold-out countless arena shows and still remain the youngest band to ever have a debut album go straight to number 1, beating The Beatles.

McFly have continued to push boundaries, last year’s ‘Power To Play’ was the album they always wanted to make – a larger-than-life rush of hard rock and poppunk thrills. The album, featuring standout singles ‘God Of Rock & Roll’ and ‘Where Did All The Guitars Go?’ charted at #2 on the Official Albums Chart. Their touring in support of the album took them from two surprise shows in a day in London’s sweaty, intimate Underworld right through to the Royal Variety Performance via a massive sold-out headline show at Alexandra Palace.

This year saw them sell out two O2 Arenas to celebrate their 21st Birthday.

DARCY WINTER

Darcy tries to grasp the ‘why’s’ of human behaviour in her songs, and her fanbase seem to have the same questions. With recent support from the BBC, Wonderland dubbing her as a ‘rising star’, and a glowing review from Clout, she has started creating a real community on the London circuit.

‘Classic with an Edge’ – Her time based in Bristol combined with her Dad showing her Jazz classics (alongside NWA, but that perhaps hasn’t imprinted itself so obviously in her music) has created her sound. Lush jazz chords, heavy baselines, and raw lyrics create a soulful, jazz/pop sound with a heavier undercurrent. The music translates on stage to something really special.

2024 saw an impressive first year, where alongside her band she performed at venues such as The Troubadour, Paper Dress Vintage, Camden Assembly and The Bedford amongst many other stages. She also performed in the finals to play Glastonbury 2025. With her debut album having released this year, there is nothing but up. Fans of Olivia Dean, Chase & Status, Billie Holiday… watch this space.

The 2024 UK AMA ‘Emerging Artist of the Year’ Jonny Morgan is an indie singer/songwriter with a unique Americana sound shaped by years spent between the UK and America. Inspired early on by American roots music, Jonny blends heartfelt folk with ambient, emotive soundscapes influenced by The War On Drugs, Ray LaMontagne, and Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats.

In 2023, he released his debut album, Good Luck With the Music, a break-up record filled with personal stories of heartache, life lessons, and self-discovery. The album gained attention on Spotify’s Notable, Mahogany Sessions, Absolute Country, and BBC Introducing. Jonny has performed at iconic venues like Glastonbury Festival, Union Chapel, and the Bluebird Cafe, captivating audiences with his storytelling and craft.

Rick Astley will be bringing his big band for an upbeat, moving, and fun swing set.

Three decades into his blockbuster career, Rick is still beloved worldwide. Taking over new platforms: 3 million TikTok followers don’t lie. Even among standout Glastonbury debuts, Rick Astley’s first show on the Pyramid Stage was unforgettable. After the epic march of the Star Wars theme opened the show, the boyish 57-year-old bounded on stage with an impish charisma that complemented the seasoned soul of his voice. By the weekend’s end, Rick had effectively conquered Glastonbury.

His 2023 ninth album, Are We There Yet?, shows his dedication to his craft. It’s the third consecutive record he has written, recorded, played, and produced himself at home.

“More and more over the last few years,” he says, “I’ve realised: I like doing it all myself. And because for the last 25 years, I’ve always had gear or a little studio, I can’t help but go: that’s nice, but it needs a bit of this underneath it, so I’ll do that now… And then I’ve finished the track.”

His entirely self-written and self-produced album 50 was a UK Number One. He also accidentally “invented” a global cultural phenomenon – Rickrolling.

In summer 2021, around the 34th anniversary of its release, Never Gonna Give You Up hit one billion views on YouTube. Astley’s debut solo single, a Number One in 25 countries in 1987, joined an elite club of all-time musical classics from the pre-internet age.

6.45PM

At just 25, singer-songwriter Matteo Bocelli has already performed on some of the world’s biggest stages, sharing his sensitive songs and dynamic vocals globally. As the son and collaborator of renowned tenor Andrea Bocelli, Matteo’s lifelong musical education and curiosity shine on his debut solo album, Matteo, marking a bold step into his own spotlight.

Immersed in music from childhood, Matteo began piano lessons early. Though his father encouraged him to explore the world first, Matteo realized his true calling in his teens. “Music became more than just a passion around 16 or 17,” he says. His debut live show was at Rome’s Colosseum at 18, and in 2018 he and his father released the duet “Fall on Me,” which has over 400 million streams.

Matteo grew up with opera and classical music but also admired artists like Whitney Houston and Frank Sinatra. In adolescence, he embraced modern pop, especially singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran, whom he calls “a genius.” His 2020 single “Solo” blends classic arias with sleek EDM, highlighting his vocal finesse.

His album Matteo reveals his diverse artistry—not just in vocals but songwriting too. He co-wrote tracks like the lead single “For

You,” a pulsing, romantic song featuring his impressive falsetto. “I love ballads,” Matteo says, “but this song invites people to groove.”

Ed Sheeran also contributed by writing “Chasing Stars,” a sweeping ballad about family and self-discovery. Matteo feels a deep connection to the song’s message: “It seems like he wrote it for me.”

Matteo sings in multiple languages; his album features Italian tracks like the disco-tinged “Fasi,” which speaks to resilience and self-reliance. “You can have honest advice from others, but in the end, it’s you,” he explains.

The piano ballad “I’m Here” emphasizes the importance of emotional support. “Saying ‘I’m here’ means offering comfort, whether for joy or pain,” Matteo says. His album aims to say just that—to be a source of comfort and positivity.

“Through these songs, I want to say that when there’s an ending, there’s always a new beginning. Above all, I’m here for you. Even if we see life differently, what matters is that we keep sharing.”

JAMIE CULLUM

8.45PM

Jamie Cullum is a globally acclaimed singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist known for his unique blend of jazz, pop, and rock. Most famous for his dynamic stage presence and prodigious musical talent, Cullum first came to prominence with his major label breakthrough Twentysomething who’s multimillion sales make it one of the UK’s best-selling albums of all time.

Jamie continues to win over audiences worldwide, earning a reputation as one of the most versatile and innovative musicians of his generation. His legendary concert performances have seen him tour over forty countries and grace the stages of festivals from Glastonbury to Coachella to Fuji Rock in Japan in addition to accepting invitations from President Barack Obama and Queen Elizabeth II to play at The White House and Buckingham Palace respectively.

He approaches all aspects of his career as he has from the beginning, as a fan and a student with seemingly boundless energy and enthusiasm. In addition to his enduringly successful recording career (nine studio albums and counting), he has

established himself as a multi-award-winning radio presenter via his weekly show on BBC Radio 2. Over fourteen years and 750+ shows, Jamie has interviewed the likes of Paul McCartney, Billy Joel, Paul Simon, Norah Jones and Lars Ulrich and introduced new talent such as Laura Mvula, Gregory Porter, Ezra Collective and Laufey to his million-strong listenership.

Cullum’s radio show affords him the opportunity to collaborate with musicians young and old, something Jamie also does across a variety of other projects, both live and recorded, charitable and commercial. Jamie Cullum is held in rare esteem by his peers, this is evident whenever he’s hanging out backstage or in the studio. Amongst his proudest achievements was winning the prestigious Ivor Novello Award for Best Song, one of the industry’s highest achievements, and voted for by his fellow songwriters.

Jamie Cullum tours the UK in late ’24 and Europe throughout early ’25, accompanying the release of his next studio album.
