About Danville Tri Kappa

Tri Kappa is a unique philanthropic organization existing only within the boundaries of the State of Indiana. The sorority was formed in 1901 by seven young ladies at the Girls’ Classical School of Indianapolis. Each woman was to begin a chapter in her hometown. From these humble beginnings, Tri Kappa has thrived throughout the state with 146 Active Chapters and 114 Associate Chapters, totaling more than 10,000 actively participating members.

The purpose of Tri Kappa is to bring women into close, unselfish relationships for the promotion of charity, culture, and education.

Danville Tri Kappa consists of about 100 members in our Active and Associate Chapters.

The main work of our chapter is to conduct special local projects to support each of Tri Kappa’s three goals. The Delta Kappa Chapter also supports statewide projects and scholarships.

Danville Tri Kappa hosts four main annual community events: Our main annual community events are: The Spring Plant Sale - orders due April 1.

Wine & Bourbon Bus Trip in April Tri Kappa’s Fair on the Square in September Chicago Bus Trip in November Danville Tri Kappa also gives scholarships to graduating seniors from Danville Community High School every year and provides financial support to a number of community organizations and events. _____________________________________

Entertainment Schedule

Looking for Fall decorating ideas? Tri Kappa will be selling colorful mums during Fair on the Square.

Danville Tri Kappa’s Fair on the Square is an annual community event that draws large numbers of visitors, from Danville and surrounding towns, to the streets surrounding the Hendricks County Court House.

The fair includes booths for shopping, live entertainment, locally grown foods, and an opportunity to get acquainted with local businesses and attractions. Booths line 3/4 of the block surrounding the courthouse The fair is the centerpiece for what has become a popular community weekend.
