Auditions for HSO Chorus

Photo: Town of Amo Newsletter

In many small towns, the post office is the heart of the community, and for 22 years, Dennis Watson was the postmaster in the Clay Township town of Amo. With no intown delivery, Amo residents headed to the post office to pick up their mail, as well as information about what was going in in the town, and maybe a little gossip. Dennis Watson passed away Sept. 1, 2020. Recently, David Huseman, a resident of Amo during Watson’s tenure, donated a bench to be placed in front of the post office. A handy place to sit and sift through your mail, or just to slow down and appreciate life in a small town. The words on the bench are “In loving memory of Dennis Watson - Postmaster. Always in our hearts. ______________________________________________

Our Apology Last week, a problem with the software we use to lay out the paper caused a delay in getting it to the press in Greencastle and thereby that issue was received late by our suscribers. We apologize for being late, but are heartened to know that the many suscribers who called the office did so out of concern and not complaint. From the days of hand-set cold type, through the era of the Linotype, to the advent of computerized pagination accidents happen and mistakes are made. What remains consistant is the value our subscribers put on “their” newspaper. We apologize for the delay but thank you for your support.
