And don’t forget those diapers, pacifiers and toys used by parents and babies around the world that are made with oil, natural gas or both. In less evident ways, oil and gas products are also essential to the world’s way of life and are used in the production of modern necessities like soaps, antiseptics, aspirin, computers, phones, medical equipment and pharmaceuticals.

Geothermal energy is particularly promising because it utilizes existing rig assets and drilling expertise while targeting an alternative energy source with great potential.
