First, let’s define beauty, and every person reading gets to participate!

Is Beauty a Dying Art for Modern Women?

Not for rare, feminine women like us. However, if we don’t take an active role in prioritizing the elements of life we deem beautiful, we could see beauty fall close to extinction, as it has for so many of our sisters.

Relatively speaking, if an idea, thought, or action doesn’t fall into one of the masculine categories, AKA femininity, by society, it’s considered frivolous, irresponsible, stupid, weak, a waste of time or only something to enjoy IF there’s enough time and money leftover (which is usually never).

First, let’s define beauty, and every person reading gets to participate! Beauty includes and is not limited to physical and inner beauty, a gorgeous lifestyle, a fabulous business model, a marketing aesthetic, an alive and thriving spiritual connection, the deliciousness of all desires, a passion for play, soulful relationships with friends and family, and the perfect almond milk cappuccino that someone else makes for you. Beauty is simply what you place value on.

Here’s the reason beauty has come close to being endangered.

Western culture is addicted to worshipping exclusively all things masculine. Masculine energy encompasses what’s logical, linear, practical, predictable, and directly productive.

It’s about thinking, action-taking, providing, and protecting.

Feminine energy is about feeling, being, intuition,

play,

passion,

desire,

spirituality,

creativity, and, yes, beauty. It’s about seeing things not as they are but as they could be.

What has this left us with? The notion that for modern women to be seen as successful, powerful, strong, accomplished, and pitifully over-responsible, they must be exclusively focused on masculine principles. And thus, we have created a culture that reveres women for working all the time, constantly being busy and even feeling guilty or as if they’re doing something wrong if they want to relax, pick up a paintbrush (or sometimes even a toothbrush), enjoy rosé with a girlfriend or spend a few extra moments savoring their morning routine. With full recognition that using toner and body oil will(literally) only take an extra six minutes, she more times than not says to herself, “I don’t need to do that today”.

As if the world would benefit that much more if she spent an extra 360 seconds at her computer.

Though masculine and feminine energy is in both men and women, part of what I love about the Queen archetype is her masterful blend of both. A Queen taps into her spiritual connection and gives herself permission to prioritize play and productivity, take the vacation and save for the down payment, close her laptop well before dinner and create quantum leaps in her career.

Can Raise Your Vibe and Attract Your Tribe

Beauty is said to be in the 'eye of the beholder', in other words, subjective.

But in truth and science, certain patterns have universal appeal.

Natural fractals — irregular, self-similar geometry — occur virtually everywhere in nature: in coastlines and river-ways, in snowflakes and leaf veins, even in our lungs.

In recent years, physicists have found that people invariably prefer a certain mathematical density of fractals — not too thick, not too sparse.

It's not exactly shocking that beauty can be sourced to the cortex of the brain. Beauty is a particularly potent and intense form of curiosity.

Why does that matter for our marketing, branding, and our vibe? Beauty that follows fractal form principles, is a learning signal urging us to keep on paying attention, an emotional reminder that there's something here worth figuring out. Beauty can capture your clients’ attention and hold it.

Of course, you don't have to master the science of fractals - just understand all the elements that contribute to your client attraction system.

Art captures and uses this ancient instinct: if we're looking at a painting, that twinge of beauty in the tableau is telling us that this painting isn't just a blob of colour; if we're listening to a Beethoven symphony, the feeling of beauty keeps us fixated on the notes, trying to find the underlying pattern; if we're reading a poem, a particularly beautiful line slows down our reading, so that we might pause and figure out what the line means.

Whichever the medium, beauty moves us, stirs the heart. Put another way, beauty is a motivational force that helps shift conscious awareness.

The problem that beauty solves is the problem of trying to figure out which sensations are worth making sense of and which ones can be easily ignored.

Imagine using that power on your website and social media lives! LIFE magazine named Jackson Pollock “the greatest living painter in the United States” in 1949, when he was creating canvases now known to conform to the optimal fractal density of light and colour.

Could Pollock’s late paintings result from his lifelong effort to excavate an image buried in all of our brains?

Apparently, we respond dramatically to these patterns so much so that attention to them can reduce stress levels by as much as 60 percent — just by being in our field of vision!

Here's the thing! We feel pleasure when we see something beautiful. And we are drawn to beautiful design (such as Apple) because we instinctively feel that attractive things work better.

Take the time, once per week to create: bake, draw, paint, sing, dance or write! Or dress up. Or try a new make-up look. Or review your social media posts. Or make a video of you and your expertise in a truly beautiful environment.

Do whatever you need to do, to invoke your creative muse! If you’re in the business of creating, focus on the aesthetic, see what can be enhanced, reevaluate the superficial, and go from there.

The aesthetics of your service or product is much more than an added benefit. Creating a beautiful product delivers value. It signals to us its innate message of quality.

Cultivate the habits of beauty and grace because they are doors to a high manifestation vibe! When we are attuned to beauty as a way of being, we resonate with the emotions of love, joy, bliss, gratitude, excitement.

Our left and right brain hemispheres come into balance.

We access elevated emotion, space where our brains can be more easily re-wired for positive change.

Committing to cherishing our most beautiful, self counts as one of those habits. To dress and adorn our most authentic truth in our style and appearance, is to honour beauty as a virtue, regardless of our shape, size, or physical features.

To make oneself beautiful is to honour those who we meet. Even if it's just for the cat or the postman. However, your clients or audience will always be uplifted, inspired and honoured when you show up in your radiant beauty.

The Navajo have a prayer for beauty as they consider it to be the principle for living harmoniously with the earth, with integrity, and in joy.

different shapes and styles. Ask for the

shop’s expertise, but trust your judgment.

There are three ways to do this.

your head size for reference, you can make wise decisions.

In general:

Wide face - You’ll look great in a decentsized brim (3” or more) and you favor a square crown (not narrow or pointy)

Narrow face - Hats are easy for you. You can wear pretty universal with brims and crowns.

Little tiny face - Try a narrow crown and not too wide of a brim, 4” max.

Tall - brims are your friend. 3”+. I wouldn’t recommend a cloche hat unless it has a brim.

Medium height - you can wear anything brim-wise.

Petite - 4” max on brims. This gives you the look of a wider brim without a mushroom effect. You are perfect for cloches. For

fedoras, you will likely feel perfect in a 3” brim.

Vital details when looking for a hat. . Measure your head. Watch this 3 min. video on how to do this HERE. Once you know your size, write the number down

and keep it in your wallet or on your phone. This is an essential item when shopping online. Most

quality hat shops will have their sizes listed with details in inches, centimeters, or classic hat sizing. See the hat chart below.

For a store that says: S, M, L, XL in general, it’s usually the following: S 22”

M 22 1/4”- 22 1/2” L 22 3/4” XL 23”

If a size says “one size or one size fits all”, it’s likely 22 1/4”.

Knowing your head size means you can make wise choices.

Hat: The Rancher

Here’s what I tell my clients: . For sun protection you want at least a 3” brim. This protects your entire face from UV rays. Protect your gorgeous looks, people! Excellent self-care is a calling card to your business. . When it rains Unless you have a beaver felt hat or a plastic rain hat, hats aren’t there to keep the rain off you. When you are out, and the heavens decide to pour out their blessings in water form, I dip into the first shop I see and ask for a shopping bag. I pop my hat in there and put up my umbrella. . What do you do if you get caught sans umbrella, no extra bag, and your hat gets soaked?

Gently, from the inside, try to reshape the crown (where your head fits inside the hat). Just try to get the general shape of what you originally had.

Place your wet hat on a table. Usually, you just need to let it dry.

If your brim is a flipped-up style, you can try to take a rolled-up towel and place it under and around the brim. Just enough to nudge it back to its shape.

If your brim is downturned in its original style, you can use your fingers to nudge it back into shape. ** Mostly, just let it dry before you do too much.

. How to steam your hat back into shape. Warning: use your keen common sense when doing the following. Steam burns hurt like the dickens, so always ALWAYS be careful and focused.

You can use a personal clothing steamer or travel steamer (which I use, and it’s the best).

Or a tea kettle (may be loud with the whistle, so carefully open the tab but beware of the shot of steam coming out) or a pot of steamy hot water.

Once the steam is going, pass your hat through a few times. If you are comfortable with this, then place one area of your hat in front of or on top of the steam line, just for a few seconds. Then move the hat away and work on the reshaping.

For the crown - work from the inside to smooth out the outside.

For Fedora pinch - it’s exactly what it sounds like.

Place the hat crown over the steam line for a few seconds. I then place the hat on my chest for support and give the front crown a gentle pinch.

Very gentle.

If you feel confident you won’t burn yourself, the next step is to pinch the Fedora from inside and “holding that pinch” quickly pass the front of the hat back and forth in the steam.

Use these same ideas for the brim. Pass it back and forth to warm it up and then, use your hands, nudging it back into shape.

of red for every woman". Even the colours blue and green turn up in Iconic Fashion Quotes.

Such is not the same for yellow.

Unlike brown, olive, navy, green and even purple, yellow has a hard job turning up on runways and is considered to be the trickiest colour to wear. That’s a little unfair to yellow when you understand its meaning and effect on people.

So leaving wasps, heavy metals, toxic lizards, warning and danger signs aside, the primary colour yellow

knowledge and the intellect.

It is the colour which resonates with the left or logic side of the brain enhancing

Yellow can be a very client-and-opportunity-magnetic colour if used judiciously, with taste and moderation!

Think about it: the colour of the solar plexus chakra, yellow is at the core of your being (in its healthy, balanced state!) From your solar plexus the "I am" shines out, the source of your strength, will and personal power.

Symbolic of youth, new beginnings, birth and re-birth, this solar plexus is the fire that burns within you, that gives you power and energy to stand for yourself and to assert yourself; the source from where you find trust, self belief and inner worth. The place from where healing radiates through your core, into the world.

Yellow is non-emotional, coming from the head rather than the heart.

Yellow depends on itself, reflecting a vibe that prefers not to get emotionally involved. Straightforward, powerful and independent, yellow is related to the ego and our sense of self worth, to how we feel about ourselves and how we are perceived by others.

Wearing it with taste and awareness can increase the charisma and power we radiate.

The most highly visible to the naked eye of all the colours on the spectrum, imagine wearing yellow on stage as a speaker!

All eyes on you!

For branding design and business in general, it is best to use yellow as a highlight color - since too much of this shade can cause agitation and anxiety.

We certainly don’t want that effect on people!

So now you’re all fired up to fill your closet with yellow, here’s all the reasons why you shouldn’t!

Picking the wrong tones for our skin can make us look washed out and tired, even when we’re well rested. Yellow is an expert at that, highlighting your sallow skin, tired eyes and wrinkles too!

So you must determine your skin tone, seasonal type and understand the difference between pure saturated colour, tones, shades and hues.

Primary colour is saturated pure colour. Tone is a general term to describe the lightness or darkness of a basic color. If you add white to colour, you get a light tone, if you add black or grey, you get dark tone. If you mix colours of the spectrum and then add white or grey, you will have all the shades and tones and hues you could dream of.

So for example by adding brown to yellow and a little grey, you’ll have a warm mustard. If you add a tiny bit of red and white, you’ll be looking at warmer amber tones.

Aha! Yes! The yellow spectrum is vast! Everyone has different undertones in their skin and it is important to determine if your colouring is cool, neutral or warm.

If you're unsure of that, sit in front of a mirror in a room that has a lot of natural light. Is your skin pale with cool, pink undertones, or olive with warm ones? Bronze undertones or dark?

Pure yellow nearly always looks wonderful against dark African or Asian origin skin tones, the contrast is striking and inviting.

But a zany, sunny personality of any skin type can be enhanced by using yellow somewhere in the outfit - a soft maize golden yellow chic top with jeans, a fresh lemon scarf to cheer up an otherwise drab suit, cheery beads and bangles with plain jumpsuit, a cute mustard yellow bandana tied up over a messy bun (Jenni P’s signature look!), a daisy-patterned boho-style, floaty tunic over some neutral leggings, an amber sporty hoodie and sneakers, a golden yellow satin blouse with some cream linen evening pants. Come on, aren’t you already in a better mood just reading this and looking at the pictures?

So what about the office and business? Well, from what I’ve shared with you about the effect it can have on people who are being energised by the colour on you, I’d be starting to check the kind of yellow that would suit you and make your livestreams pop!

And if you’re not sure, don’t!

I personally look dreadful in pure yellow, but toned down in gold and autumnal mustards, the colour is comforting to wear in the dark days of winter.

Lastly, of course this doesn’t have to be plain colour; patterns would work well too, according to your body shape and personality.

So make yellow your ally, not your foe and have fun putting some safran, pineapple, turmeric and curry-hued spice into your wardrobe or accessory box and take it out for mood boosts, research, writing books, livestreams and when you feel like making a statement or getting in touch with your shining ‘I AM”.

Style is not about fashion but your values, natural charms, brilliance and energy.

We can all use a little sunshine to boost all of those!

And as Vincent Van Gogh said... " Yellow is capable of charming God...."

So let's get some mellow yellow on, it's summer!

Incredibly exciting, I'd say!

Well, here we are in 2021 and it seems AUDIO is literally the darling of every major tech company right now. It's not just the rise of buzzy social audio app Clubhouse. Twitter, Facebook, Apple et al are all doubling down on audio. In fact, there are currently over 40 different social audio companies and the list is growing!

If you haven’t heard of Clubhouse yet, you may be living under a rock. First launched in April 2020, Clubhouse is an invitationonly social audio app that skyrocketed in the fall. Initially only for iOS and now for Android, users connect through voice chat rooms that can hold up to 5,000 people (larger rooms coming soon). The audio-only app hosts live discussions where anyone can start a room as a speaker, or join a room to listen or be invited up to the stage to speak.

Twitter’s audio product Spaces is extremely similar to Clubhouse and is gaining good traction. (There was talk of the company acquiring Clubhouse, but that’s not likely now.)

Apple recently unveiled a program for podcasters to generate revenue through subscription shows. So, how fascinating that Facebook pushed out its major audio/podcast announcement the very day before Apple’s announcement.

What's coming for Facebook audio: New AUDIO CREATION TOOLS - a 'sound studio in your pocket’ (anyone remember a similar tagline for Facebook Live?! ).

New short-form audio clips 'SOUNDBITES' - like TikTok for audio. It's not clear yet if these will be disappearing like Stories; I rather doubt it.

Create and/or listen to PODCASTS on Facebook.

Live AUDIO ROOMS coming to Groups, Pages and Messenger.

Monetization with Stars and paid subscriptions for Live Audio Rooms.

Plus, an expanded partnership with Spotify - listen to both music and podcasts in a mini player without leaving Facebook.

In addition, Facebook recently quietly rolled out an experimental web-based audio (with optional video) app called Hotline.

Although Facebook is pivoting to audio, the company will continue to focus on all their mainstay products. Video - including live streaming - is still a major focus for Mark Zuckerberg and team. As is messaging, connecting all Facebook apps - a la interoperability - mobile shopping, groups/communities, and AR/VR. But, definitely revisit your own content marketing efforts and see where you can slot in audio. Good news is you can dive into social audio without needing to get camera ready first!

A FORMULA FOR AN EPIC LIFE IN A MEDIOCRE WORLD I believe this crazy epoch calls us not to shrink to fit the parameters that the powers-that-be would have us believe, but magnify our missions and visions.

Procrastination, confusion, and demotivation are three of the solo entrepreneur's most common 'dreaded lurgies'. I see the complaint scattered all over Facebook biz and personal development

groups.

But

lurgy

not

just

for

entrepreneurs but all dreamers trying to uplevel their lives and livelihood to aspire to fulfil their life purpose.

Life is messy and sticky, ego is insistently a pain in the ass, distractions

epidemic. Time can be bitch for being so elusive.

And the old-school, bro-invented high-performance habits that have spawned a couple of generations of multi-gazillion dollar business guru stereotypes don't seem appropriate for the current wave of passionately mission-and-high-heel-led female entrepreneur amazons who are multiplying like rabbits all over the cyber world!

We girls love habit stacking, managing our time in flow, manifesting

opportunities

and

taking

our

financial

independence fiercely seriously. But we also want to keep our femininity, life, body and family balance, beauty routines, connection with nature, and sense of the mystical as sacred parts of our lifestyle. In fact, we are throwing down our lacy gauntlets to claim the right to live as a fully embodied feminine miracle of nature.

So the classic, yang style High-Performance habits so beloved of the Silicon Valley culture don't satisfy us and don't necessarily work for us. We ladies will not compromise our hearts, bodies and soul-dreams for purely minddirected, status or material goals. Move over rigid and ruthless High-Performance success rituals (cold showers, spartan workouts, druginduced mind-hacks, guru worship) and welcome in HIGHest Self PERFORMANCE PRINCIPLES. Missions and dreams take immense focus. They require that we make choices about how we spend our time, attention and resources.

It's a principle of wealth consciousness. Money loves a purpose. It needs a 'why' for it to show up as you desire it. The energy of a mission is expansive and attractive to opportunity. Never think that your mission is too small. You are always creating quantum ripples in the world, whatever your mission and purpose. Now is a great time to revisit your mission statement and infuse your visions and actions with the power of creating a legacy or movement. Oh, and money adores a 'movement'!

N for Nourished and Energised.

To play in the quantum field of infinitely amazing possibilities and achieve great things, you need the stamina to do so! This takes a commitment to your Exquisite Self Care - diet, exercise, rest, mental health, spiritual practice. We can't rise and scale when some aspect of our mind, body and soul are out of alignment or, if we try, progress will always feel like striving and struggling.

I for Influential.

This is a core skill you will need to master if you want to scale up. It means being an effective communicator; you should be ubiquitous with your social skills, graced with a genuine interest in others and an ability to ask for what you want and need without arrogance or lack of manners.

C for Charismatic.

Because attracting and manifesting are the way to lean into that upscale.

Unleash your charms, your humour, your wit, your sparkling personality. Lean into your deepest self-confidence. Allow yourself to behave and act as if you are already an icon. Do things with style and panache. Keep life light. People will not forget you.

There that doesn't sound too out of reach, does it?

Because your highest self is just hopping up and down, waiting for you to pluck up the courage to be ICONIC. You cannot shine and scale up if we can't see you or we don't know who you are.

You cannot shine and scale up if you aren't clear, driven, focused, confident and resilient.

You cannot shine and scale up if you retreat from being the one who inspires and leads others.

Your heart has all the answers.

Your heart knows the keys to your dream kingdom.

Your highest self speaks through your heart always and all days.

Your highest self is your Iconic Self.

So, even though you know darn well it's going to stretch you out of your comfort

zone in various ways, your ego will try and seduce you out of it. it's ego's job, darn it

You're all good. And tomorrow, something new is bound to happen."

Whereas your ego will be running around in circles; it will be throwing up all the reasons why you're not good enough, all the reasons why you're an imposter, and all the reasons why it'd just be much better to stay at home all safe and cosy and warm.

So that's using an event as a scenario.

But let's take something that is always a biggie for entrepreneurs.

Think about something you're considering at the moment. What are you mulling over that feels like it needs a decision?

Ask yourself the question,

“Will my life change if I do this?”

If your life is not going to look any different

when you do it, (or you don't do it), then that is your ego seducing you to stay safe.

Change - uncomfortable change - is the only way to shift your results.

You can take yourself through the process any

time. What are you contemplating? Investing in new training? Hiring a team? Self-publishing?

Ask yourself, "Okay, if I do this thing, will my life look different? "

Even if this is just a train ticket in your pocket or a wet coat from getting drenched in the rain, something will look different, versus it won't if you don't do it.

Our inner power and beauty is always what matters, and loving the skin we are in, appreciating our journey as gorgeous preeminent goddesses we truly are, even when we are in the hormonal moments and feel like howling at the moon, is an absolute must for our transcendence to our higher self.

We can pursue excellence on the outside all we like. Tummy tuck here, butt lift there, and maybe a nose or boob job along the way for good measure, but if we are not truly in love with ourselves, our journey and living our truth, then nothing we do to the outside will ever matter.

Our purpose makes us beautiful.

Standing in our truth is our greatest asset.

Our power is the best greatest makeup we will ever wear.

So I am inviting you to complete the following tasks to own your inner beauty like never before: 1. As you shower see beyond your skin to what is going on underneath the surface. Pay attention to the sensations your nerve endings are gifting you.

Imagine the blood flowing through your veins, your nose breathing in the beautiful aromas, your lungs allowing you to breath in and out and so on and so forth. This is the incredible truth of how amazing you truly.

2. Lay out your journal with your favourite coloured pen, and then get in the shower. With your eyes closed, looking up to the heavens above and allow all the water to cascade down over you, reflecting on your purpose. What does it say about the kind of woman you are? What are the attributes your purpose requires of you? How does your purpose impact the world? Allow any and all negative selftalk, the self-doubt and insecurities to be washed away by reminding yourself of the powerful woman you are who has this incredible purpose to fulfil. When you get out of the shower, write down all the positive attributes, impacts and thoughts you got present to, and then declare to yourself out loud how wonderful you are.

3. As you cleanse your body, offer thanks to your arms for the hugs you have given and received. To your legs offer gratitude for the miles you have walked, and to your feet for the hours you have stood up. Offer thanks to your belly for the children you have or have been able to have for the growth both experiences both have given you. Give thanks for all these wonderful aspects of yourself because all these body parts have gifted you intimacy, love, joy, happiness, strength, fortitude and ultimately allowed you to get to this moment reading this article.

4. After you have cleansed your body, wrap your arms around yourself and allow yourself to fall in love with the curves, lumps and bumps, swaying your hips to some sexy music playing in your mind.

Caress your body, feeling the sensation of your nerves coming alive. Remember the meals and laughter shared with loved ones, allow yourself to tap into the orgasmic pleasure you have experienced. Be reminded of the love you have for others and shower yourself with that love. You are beautiful.

5. Once you are done in the shower, wrap your towel around you like the most luxurious fabric you can imagine, pulling it up underneath your chin and sway like you are dancing to some slow and sexy samba. Pat your skin dry, don’t scrub or rush this process either. You deserve the most delicate of touches. Moisturise your skin, and then look in the mirror for a minimum of a minute smiling at the beautiful soul residing deep inside of you and remember who you are: A truly beautiful woman inside and out, a gift to humanity.

Now go and shine your beauty out into the world remembering as women, we are all so much more than meets the eye. We are powerful, purpose driven sexy Goddesses born to give new life to the world in which we reside.

MULTIPOTENTIALITE MAGIC - BE A JILL OF ALL TRADES Do you remember the time when you were asked what you want to be when you grow up?

I was barely 6 years old.

My answer was that I wanted to be a dancer and a nurse. I was told that was impossible. I could not be a dancer and a nurse. I was told to pick one or the other.

As I got older the dilemma worsened. I had decided not to be a nurse, but now, as well as a dancer I also wanted to be a lawyer, a journalist and an actress.

Obviously, I was a hopeless case in the area of choosing my vocation, and everyone told me so.

I kept hearing that I had to choose one speciality, in order to be successful. I had to be committed. I had to focus.

As if we could only have one passion and one talent!

Adding to the confusion, “follow my passion” was a popular piece of advice, since apparently, that was the path to succeeding and discovering my special talent.

In my naïveté I had many, many passions.

Friends and teachers encouraged me to decide what I was going to do when I grew up. They were adamant that following my passion would show me my special talent which would be the precursor of success in anything I would do.

And, like so many people, I tried to narrow down my passions, but it was impossible.

Trying to follow this advice made me anxious - like I was failing at something.

So I chose my own destiny.

I have been called a ‘dilettante’ many times in the most derogatory terms. I looked that word up in the dictionary one day, and found I was “a person having a superficial interest in an art or a branch of knowledge”. In lay terms that meant I was interested in more than just one thing.

Now, I’m glad I didn’t listen to my elders on this

I moved countries but moved something so much more.

But Liberia quickly grew inside my heart.

What I witnessed in the most gorgeous

smiles I've ever encountered on all the

planet were smiles that shine so brightly not just from the mouth but also from

the eyes, despite immense heartbreak and loss.

These inner smiles, creating such true beauty in Liberians, were forged from the deep practice of forgiveness that had to take place after the civil war where

neighbors

who

were

either

victims

or

perpetrators of horrible crimes had to choose peace among each other in order to survive. Forgiveness is palpable in Liberians. Their strength to forgive, every day, changed me forever.

When I couldn't run from poverty like I could in the US, I had to find a way to see the beauty around me or go mad! You know what I'm talking about, don't you? It's like when you are fortunate enough not to live in a bad neighborhood or a ghetto in the US or some other developed country, but occasionally you drive through one at night, with the gas tank nearly empty, sighing with relief when you are on the other side of it all. You dip a toe in, but you know you don't have to stay there.

You may even work or go to school in a neighborhood like that, as I did when I was in college in downtown Los Angeles, next to skid row. But when you go home, you're surrounded by all that gives you a sense of beauty and safety.

approaching me with a plea of, "Mommie, you have work for me?"; dirt and trash in the streets; and oh, yes, mud. During the rainy season, there is mud and lots of it. Even the paved streets are often lined with foot high mud banks because of drainage issues.

The more you can feel your deepest sorrow and pain, the more you can feel your deepest love and joy.

So looking for and seeing beauty in the people, my surroundings, and the Liberian way of life became my greatest gift, and my daily yoga, my practice. Not everyone who is there, whether by birth or by choice (like me), sees Liberia the way I do nor assumes the practice I took on. I met with many who didn't, even lived with someone who didn't.

So I learned to let the reality around me move me emotionally and inform me of a higher truth that perhaps just needed a magnifying glass to be revealed in its entirety. Here is an example of my 'yoga' in Liberia - of finding and being beauty. here was a lady who sold sodas from her front lawn. I passed her several times a day, always to a friendly hello, and she would pet my dog, Barnaby.

Because I was asked for money literally daily, there would be this lingering thought in the back of my mind when I spoke with most people on the street: "Is today the day he (or she) will ask me for money or help of some kind?" (I came to realize that if I were in their shoes, I'd be doing the same thing—it is called survival— so I let go of the judgment around it fairly early on.)

On this day, the lady said, "I'm not feeling well. I have such a pounding in my head." And she looked visibly tired and weak, not her usual cheerful self. And then it came. "Do you have any medicine you can give to me?" I told her I did not, and I felt an urge inside me to dig deeper and not just walk away. I asked myself, "What is the higher truth and beauty that can be expressed in this moment with her?" So instead of just walking by, I stopped and said, "I have a pretty powerful connection with the angels and God; do you believe in angels?" She nodded yes. So I offered, "I believe in prayer too, and I'm going to pray for you and with you right now and all afternoon that you feel better and are well. If we both believe it, it has to be true because that is the Law—it is the way it is—and I know this for a fact!"

She smiled and said, "Okay, thank you. Oh, I hope I will feel better."

We prayed together, then I left and did as I promised.

For the next two hours, I prayed for her to be rid of her illness. When I met with her

later on my next walk with Barnaby, she jumped up to greet me with both hands

clapping and smiling her gorgeous, big, white, toothy smile! "I am well! Praise

Right now you can access any recipe on earth through a search engine. And even though I am an award-winning chef, my own recipe book 'Real Food A Feast For Life' is no longer available. And there are soooo many good foodies and cooks out there! I'll share my favs!

I mean come on, Tapas and afternoon tea are De Rigueur for summer!

Here are some inspiring and busy femme-preneur ways to get more of this incredible superfood into your régime: Make Kombucha - this probiotic drink is truly remarkable in its benefits. You can buy a starter (scoby) online and it is easy-peasylemon-squeezy!

I add to mine - lemon slices, ginger and fresh turmeric, therefore turning an already powerhouse food to superwoman, superfood status!

Turmeric (anti-oxidant dynamite) actually enhances sweet as well as savoury foods. I put some in banana bread, home made chai mix, home made lemon curd and sauerkraut.

I highly recommend Nigella Lawson's deeeevine gluten free, lemon polenta cake here, and as a Jenni P Preeminent twist, I add another citrus for subtlety, grated root ginger, and yes turmeric or orange flower water! I also put lemon rind and turmeric into my home-made humous.

Warm lemon water with a pinch of Cayenne is a marvellous cleanser and fat buster in the morning. It's a high performance habit that pays dividends on your gut health, skin and immune system

Who mentioned lemon cheesecake? Great dopamine spikes, but not so good for the waistline and digestion!

However the 'fabulous' alternatives are to replace cream cheese with either thick coco yogurt or soft, silky tofu. For absolute decadence, I would colour with saffron strands (and turmeric!).

I keep mine dairy free, egg free and thickened with vegan agar.I sweeten with natural stevia or Agave syrup.

For the base, ground almonds , cocconut, dates and cashews flavoured with maple syrup or honey, thrown in the blender with some coconut oil, make a yummy crust and an exqusite foil to sharp lemons. Raw and vitamin packed. Who doesn't want to eat these beauties?

So to sum up your 'sun up, summer butrition boost' : Stock up with a cornucopeia of summer, health-enhancing ingredients. Buy organic gold!

Play with your gold in simple, farnienteinspired, picnics every day exquiste dishes that are time and effort friendly, but that are pretty as a painting, vibrant, light and scrumptious.

Eat your way to Fabulous

Your self-care and nourishment is key to you optimizing your beauty. And even more critical your nutrition is key to maintaining your natural charms for as long as possible!

Much has been researched and documented on the oxidative effects of the modern lifestyle on the body, health, face, and organs. As a certified fitness instructor and awardwinning chef, I have been passionate about the link between food and staying young, for as long as I can remember! The words anti-ageing, pro-youthing and so on, I find contrary to the ageing process's inevitability. We cannot delay or turn back time. But we can improve our health to stay active and vibrant for as long as we have the will.

Such as it is with beauty. Even with technological and scientific advances on cell ageing, one day it will be our last! And with beauty being subjective, how can we not admire

from

octogenarians and even, centenarians. It is then we realize that beauty really does come from within.

Having said that, I want to stay as lovely as possible for as long as possible and have made it my life-long daily study!

Here is a quick round-up of my general approach - one that I know contributes to me being told I look at least ten years younger. I am proud to say, my body's physical appearance defies my chronological age.

Prepare your body to be beautiful 1 Start your day giving your body an alkaline environment. Before having any coffee, tea or any food, flush out your body with some hot water and lemon juice.

Alkalinity is key to re-balancing your gut and general body health. It also boosts your energy, immune system, promotes healthy skin, supports weight regulation, and so many other benefits.

Or, take it up a notch as I do and add something genuinely potent like the following supplements: wheatgrass powder for its chlorophyll-rich anti-oxidants and multi-vitamin content, activated-charcoal powder to help de-tox and support the body's digestive processes. I now take collagen to support the integrity of cartilage in my body, skin, hair and nails. I also add Vitamin E, B6 and any plant essences I may be taking for the season. I regularly take plant essences to support liver and kidney function or a de-tox. With ageing, the body needs help to resist the inevitable cell and telomere degeneration. I give my body all the help it needs!

I drink a large glass of this super-cocktail whilst wondering around to warm my body up. At the very least take hot water and lemon juice. Then you can have your tea or coffee! If you avoid those two as I do, try an anti-oxidant rich infusion such as a flavoured Rooibos /Green Tea mix. I love green Earl Grey or orange and cinnamon. I drink a litre of this over 2 hours. Or I pour the rest into a flask for later. It is not tannic and caffeine-laden like black tea and coffee. I've nothing against coffee, it just doesn't suit me, but there are many satisfactory cereal substitutes. My favourite is chicory which is caffeine-free and full of fibre and minerals.

Listen to your body and set your own meal-times Don't eat if you're not hungry. There is no need to eat just because it's 'mealtime'. Your body is the best person to let you know if it needs fuel and if it doesn't give it a rest! It will thank you for it.

Get your circulation moving and don't stop After drinking that lot in the morning, I'm pretty full until 11 am or 12 pm, which is my ideal time for a morning snack. I'm a fan of intermittent fasting, but I don't stick to it to lose weight, simply because I tune in to my body's need for rest from digestion.

Move, move, move all day and every day!

Get a productivity app and Pomodoro Timer on your device and begin to reverse intersecting a sitting day with exercise with intersecting an exercising day with sitting!

Seriously, sitting is A KILLER. A KILLER! Not taking this seriously is equivalent to you committing slow suicide. I cannot say it more strongly, sedentarism is the anathema to our well-being. The scourge of our modern techie age! There is no excuse not to move more than you do now. Any counter excuse to that is simply admission to your lack of respect for your body.

The Pomodoro timer and app are a simple way to add little movement islands for as little as 5 minutes into your day. See my article on Movement and Manifestation in this issue!

Conscious drinking Infuse your water bottle or flask with the power of intention. Nearly everyone has heard of the famous research carried out by Dr Emoto who subjected water to negative emotions, shouting and low-frequency sounds. And similarly, he subjected other samples to classical music, words of love and uplifting intentions. On freezing the samples, the water crystals showed remarkably different patterns - strange contorted, dissonant ones for the negatively charged water, and exquisitely harmonious ones for the positively charged water. Since we are made up of 55% to 75% water imagine the effect negative energies have on your body

So you can positively charge your own water with high frequency by pasting or writing a message of love on it or a fabulous affirmation, or even by speaking your gratitude and intentions to it! Try and it and see!

High vibe salad I do the same with my food—especially salads and raw foods high in water content. I send an intention that the ingredient serves my highest nourishment. Staying with salad, it's a good idea to eat salad or raw vegetables in some form before every meal.

Not only does your body get the benefits of the vitamins and minerals before you consume less nutrient-dense foods, but it also fills you up, so you eat less of what's coming!

Eliminate the enemy and welcome your beauty angels You are what you eat, so eliminate poison from your diet: white sugar or its derivatives, industrial foods, processed foods and junk. Nothing else to say there really, is there?

Fill your pantry and fridge with skin-loving foods: vitamin e rich avocados, omega3 rich flax seed (ground), chia, aloe vera gel (can be applied or ingested - both are recommended!) lemons, coconut oil, turmeric, sweet potatoes, berries, wild salmon, pumpkin seeds, kimchi, sauerkraut and natural yoghurt, and as much fresh, organic fruit and veg as you can eat! These are your beauty angels!

I highly recommend learning about food combining. Food combining is the term for the idea that certain foods pair well together, while others do not. According to the Hay diet made famous in the 1990s, combining foods improperly is a common reason for weight problems, digestive challenges, and even disease. Food combining principles first appeared in the Ayurvedic medicine of ancient India. The principles of food combining became more widely popularized in the mid-1800s under the term trophology, or "the science of food combining."

Get savvy about the reality of what you eat The rules of food combining are mostly based on two tenets: The first is that, because different food types are digested at different speeds, combining a fast-digesting food with slow-digesting food causes a "traffic jam" in your digestive tract. This leads to negative digestive and health consequences. The second belief is that different foods require different enzymes to be broken down. These enzymes work at different pH levels — levels of acidity — in your gut. The approach is that if two foods require different pH levels, the body cannot efficiently digest both at the same time. Proponents of foodcombining diets believe that these principles are essential to proper health and digestion.

These principles have become the bases for many more recent diets. Even though I'm not a fan of the word 'diet', this explanation makes good sense; alleviate the effort your body takes to digest and reduce oxidation and cell ageing.

Ayurveda is a sophisticated science of food combining; it is a mighty philosophy and well-being science originating in India, that deserves much respect. Personally, I have adopted the Ayurvedic approach naturally by listening to my body. Proteins with starches wipe me out. Anything that wipes me out is going to have an effect on my face!

I don't deny myself any foods but take them at different times. Since I have been doing this, I have never had to monitor my weight. There is bucket loads of evidence and information out there to inspire you.

One thing is for sure - a body that is regularly labouring in its digestion system is not going to be conducive to your radiant beauty!

Have your naughty-but-nice treats early in the day when you can burn them off, and your digestive system is at an optimum.

Take time to care Splash, pat and massage.

I start the day with a lot of cold water splashed on my face. Sometimes I will even fill the bowl with cold water and immerse my face in it for as long as I can hold my breath!

This disperses the lymph that accumulates in the face overnight and closes the pores. Sometimes, if I have time, I splash, dry with a warm towel, wait, and repeat the process twice! It certainly wakes me up.

Stretching and spending some time upside down - bending, or if you're supple, a shoulder stand - encourages circulation to all the organs, especially the face.

Face slapping. This was something I found in a Youtube Video of Asian women's beauty secrets. Gentle slapping (not on the eyes) around the checks and jawline is also great for de-puffing the face and keeping muscle tone— likewise massage. I take time to massage in my creams, especially in the areas where the elasticity is waning! Does all this take a long time? It depends on your priorities.

Mine begins with self-care and staying beautiful for a long time. Drinking lots of healthy tea at the same time, listening to a podcast, or chanting affirmations makes this 'me-time' sacred and feel like a million dollars. I will not forgo that ritual!

Beauty really does start from within. So the best beauty treatment of all is you believing that you are beautiful, confirming it to yourself in the mirror and then following through with your self-care. Will you upgrade yours this year?

It is shape and form in outfits that give harmony to a body.

Purge everything you’re fed up with, or no longer wear.

Make it a sacred ritual t of selfhonouring and even meditation! It's a powerful act that declutters your energy as much as your closet!

Commit to buying the best quality and cut of the items in your wardrobe that are part of your major signature look – jackets, shoes, jeans, accessories. Whatever is a significant part of your total look, get the best (even from recycled designer shops and thrift shops!)

Almost nothing in the world that is tight looks good on a body, unless you are a trained, toned athlete, and even then! Stop it.

Try elements of your wardobe in completely new ways with new combinations. Take some time and play dressing up with your own clothes in ways you’d never thought of before!

Get a best friend you really trust, to give you an opinion on the selection of new outifts you come up with!

Better still have a girlie Champagne or smoothie evening and make clothes-swapping into some precious woman time while you exchange things you no longer wear.

Prepare your outfits the night before so that your image is thoughtful and polished. Nothing like rushing and throwing on any old thing to have us feeling ‘blah’ in our daily clothes!

Go through Pinterest and make yourself a style inspiration board with some outfit ideas you love on your icons, and see how you can create the same energy and look with what you have.

Commit to being kind and gentle to the reflection in the mirror. Our judgements and self criticisms about our bodies and appearance are so damaging to our vibe and our life results.

Practise seeing your natural beauty even on bad hair days or post parties!

Lemons help improve our mood. The refreshing smell of citrus fruit can help boost our concentratin, productivity, lessen low moods while increasing energy levels. Lemons help us breathe better and breath is the key to mindfulness and flow, as well as glow!

Detoxer par excellence! Lemon juice flushes out toxins and bacteria thanks to its diuretic properties. The reduction in toxins helps to reduce inflammation in the joints.

When it comes to beauty - lemons are superb for oral health.

They can help with infected and bleeding gums and can reduce tooth pain and not-so-preeminent breath. The citric acid in a lemon helps to balance our body’s pH which will aid in destroying the bacteria in the mouth.

Lemons naturally exfoliate and lighten. Rubbing a lemon directly on chapped and dry skin will aid in the removal of dead skin. Mix into a little yoghurt and use as a face or body mask to reduce sun spots, pimples and blemishes.

But one caveat for both pearls and mother of pearls - If you're looking to purchase pearls or mother of pearl in an environmentally friendly way, be sure to seek out companies that ensure safe, ecologically sustainable ways of collecting their material. Wearing nature is only high vibe as long as it's high vibe for the planet too! Vintage and reproduction are preferable to exploitation of our resources.
