How To Love What You Spend and Spend What You Love To Attract More Abundance ©Karen Baines

Money is energy - the energy of alignment. A sign that you are in synch with the natural order of universal abundance.

But when I say energy and use these words like alignment and vibration, and even good ol’ universe, it’s not really woo luvlies! It's just a vocabulary about how we feel about money, how we manage our money practically, and the link between the two.

There is so much mystical fluff spoken around money attraction, but when it comes down to it, we have to stay grounded and practical about our money routines in order for the universe to work it’s magic on our bank accounts!

If you want to make more money, what you need to do so that you're energetically aligned for that, is incredibly practical. And it is vital that the purpose for attracting more and spending more is aligned for you!

So let’s dive right in to spending on purpose.

The following prompts will help you get very clear on how to attract and spend consistently in a way that will empower you to master the whole gorgeous process!I take my clients through this process as one of the very first things that I do with them. But even those who’ve been practising this for a long time forget this.

So, say you want to make XYZ this month.

This is your financial intention for this very month. Or maybe you’re launching a program or a new offer and you know you need to sell so many products to make that XYZ amount.

So my question to you is: what do you want the money for? It’s crazy but often that question stumps people. They are so used to the idea of earning money just to cover the bills, that they don’t allow themselves to give money a much bigger purpose!

That is not going to excite you enough to get you out of bed in the morning. And it's not going to give the universe enough to respond to, with cash! You need to know what you want the money for.

And not only do you need to know, you need to be psyched up about it. You need to be excited about it, the idea of what you're going to create with that money.

That's crucial. And the word create is crucial.

You must be excited about what you're going to create with that income, that experience. It needs to light you up and turn you on! Your financial intention is everything. So many small biz owners get caught up in the intention of earning a certain amount of money, but they forget about why they want that money.

And just declaring you want a certain amount as a target, isn't enough.

Money is creational energy manifested at a physical level. It's tangible energy if you like. It's creational.

It's creational because, as human beings, we are designed to create. We create through the process of choice and consequence. So when you make a choice, it’s only an idea in your head until you've done it. And then there's a consequence from that choice.

Every time you do something, you are taking action as a result of a choice (getting it out of your head and grounding it) and the energy underneath the choice will affect the consequence.

In other words, how you feel about taking that action creates the effect. It's the language underneath the action that has everything to do with the outcome.

It's the vibration around an action that the universe responds to, with a yes. Or a no!

When you make a choice and then the universe responds with ‘yes!’ in money form, the big U will bring you more of that energy, more of that experience.

That's how the big 'U' works as it plays!

Now, as I said, money is creational energy, luvlies, because when we've got more money, we can make more choices, right? And that's how we create, through the process of choice and consequence.

Can you see how important it is to know what you want the money for?

Its purpose?

It's time to look at what you want to create this very month.

Do yourself a favour, get clear on how much money you want to make this month through your business, and 'why' you want that money. It's key that that 'why' gets you stoked!

And if this exercise isn't something that you do regularly, rather than aiming for a consistent monthly income right now, I would encourage you to just pick an amount that feels just on the outside edge of your comfort zone.

You're going to want to feel good about it. It's got to feel doable, but it's also going to be a bit of a stretch. That can be your ideal amount for your smaller why, and then you can progress through to better or phenomenal, if you want to.

That's the process I take my clients through.

Let's say you decide you want to make 8K this month, or just fill in your own amount It's got to feel good, do-able, but a stretch.

So 'even better', maybe that would be something like 15K. And 'phenomenal' would fee like, "OMG I fricking knocked it-out-theball park" kind of vibe.

Get clear on the amount. And then what you want you to do is spend it.

Let’s do that together. This is such an eyeopening exercise. Not just because of what you're creating during this process, but the feedback that you're getting about yourself.

This is a very valuable exercise to go through because it will mirror where you are in your money vibe.

So sit down, with a pen and paper, and breathe into an intentional amount for the month. Write it down and now, maybe with your eyes closed, start to spend it in your head, and record that on paper.

Say, you want 10K because you’re would love to do this, this, this, and this. It's your spree!

However, it’s easy to spend the first few K on paper, and then it starts getting more and more difficult.

Obviously, you need to know as accurately as possible, what your basic needs are in terms of finances.

How much money do you need to live on and cover your basic expenses for the month? You take that out of the equation.

Let's say it's two and a half K. So for an intention of a monthly income of 8K, you have got five and a half left.

Here's the key.

Whatever you're creating with it, it needs to 'turn you on'. And one thing that you're not going to do with this while you're going through this experience, is to pay off some debt.

That’s a whole different energy - money cannot get excited around a financial intention that is set on paying down debt. You are aiming for excitement!

So, what I want you to do is to mentally spend it in a way that turns you on.

What do you want to do with the money? What do you want to create?

How's your life going to be different from now on? How will you treat yourself?

Travel? A new wardrobe of clothes?

Renovation of a room in the house? A new car? What else? It might be landscaping the garden, a new hairstyle, clothes, a fab handbag, some special jewelry, a new subscription to a well-ness club, a massage!

Many small biz owners are wired to reinvest in their businesses. That's often important to them, but I always encourage my clients that, even if that's on their list of what is going to turn them on, to be very careful that they're not hiding there.

So many people have trouble doing this exercise and focusing on spending that money on themselves, just to enjoy the experience of their life.

But here’s the thing - as heart-centered entrepreneurs, we're really great at giving to other people, which is fabulous.

But actually, our soul isn't interested in creating money to change other people's experiences. It's only interested in changing our own experience. And even though spending our money on other people will have us feeling good, it's not going to change our experience.

What can I spend it on?

So make sure that what you're focusing on is going to include you. It's not all about reinvesting in your business, because again, we're really good at that. It’s too easy to justify spending money on ourselves through our businesses.

However, one of the magical things about this whole exercise is that it's completely selfindulgent, which is why so many people have a problem with it! But it's also why so many people don't break through to their next income level.

So really indulge yourself with this. Do you have a big idea on your turn-on wish list? Go and find out what that might look like in terms of finances. How much will it potentially cost?

Research!

A word of caution: you may feel reluctant to dream big enough. You may secretly fear engaging with the potential of those grander amounts, because you don't want to be disappointed if you can't make it happen. I hear you. It’s tempting to think that if you allow yourself to go and play with this sexy money energy when you don't subsequently create it, it's going to hurt. Trust me.

When you define that amount, and then you go about playing with the potential of that energy, that is when you transcend your old limitations.

When you engage with it and call it in, that is when the universe says “yes” and gives it to you!

That is when your soul gets so excited that it can't wait to get you out of bed in the morning and do whatever it takes to be able to create that income for you, because it's just going to have the best experience ever once you've done it. Bless its heart! And bless yours!

So that, luvlies, is what turns money on. Money loves to know what it's going to create. Money loves a home. Give it a home. Spend on purpose.

And be as wild and wacky and self-indulgent and have as much fun as you can with the process. Don't be afraid of it. Do not engage with it.

Go do something with that money energetically so that it comes in - so that it finds you. So that it desires you so badly that it cannot wait to be a part of your life. Oh and send me a postcard!

Well as you can see, it can communicate your message as a heart-led change-maker!

And wearing green will allow you to benefit from the properties associated with the heart chakra.

The colour of the Heart chakra, also known as Anahata, is located at the center of the chest area and is linked to this entire area, the heart, lungs, circulatory system, and cardiac plexus. The Heart Chakra bridges the gap between the physical and spiritual worlds.

Opening the Heart Chakra allows a person to love more, empathize, and feel compassion. So let’s look at how you can benefit inside and out!

In trending terms, green has been lying dormant since the '90s. But green hues have undeniable ties to the past, and many style icons from that decade—from Princess Diana to Rachel Green. I’m not a great fan of fashion trend slavery. Image and style is an art and a science; you want to know what’s popular on the scene, but adapt what looks good on you.

However, according to top styling magazines and some celeb’s recent appearances, green is having a fall back in favour on catwalks. 2020 is the year of designer green!

With so much focus on the connection between fashion and pollution, green is the star of all things ethical and sustainable. Especially when it comes to fashion industry shift to planet consciousness.

For me, that association with planet care is crucial for my style choices.

Recycled, second life clothes and market bargains are a speciality of mine!

You can dress like a millionaire for any budget at all, ladies!

As a rule, warm skin and hair tones look better in the warmer greens those with a higher proportion of yellow and muted with grey or brown undertones.

Warm jades and aquas also look good on this autumn skin types.

Redheads invariably look stunning in green, as do those with green or hazel eyes. The brighter, colder greens enhance a pale skin tone wonderfully, as they do dark and ethnic skins.

Green is also a flexible colour that lends itself to both tones very close to it, or its complementary opposites on the spectrum.

Green lends itself to colour-blocking - that is wearing a whole outfit in one colour with different hues. And also to monochrome where you take a colour and choose several tones. This is a colour you can experiment with, minus the risk of disastrous clashing results.

And if you’re just becoming green-fingered in your fashion garden, try prints with greens in or statement accessories to begin with - bags, jewelry, scarves and even shoes!

Even if green is not among the favoured hues in your own wardrobe, the streets of Milan prove that its styling potential is endless.

From splashes of neon, to the delicious chartreuse you'd find inside a Viennese pastry, there’s a green for everyone — you just need to find out which one suits your personal style. Because unlike red or yellow, black and white there IS the ideal green for you.

5. Be everywhere and be consistent. People's attention spans are shorter than ever before. People will forget you in the blink of an eye. Unless you do, and are, momentous!

At least, be in the places that turn you on and light your fire.

Choose your social hang-outs according to your objectives and your personality!

No, that was not a mistake. If you want to be seen as a pro, present and speak like one. If you can’t write like a champion then hire someone who can. Copywriting and the written word are your holy grail of client attraction. Spend time conversing with articulate people and you will pick it up!

7. Be fabulous. Dress ‘as if’ you are already famous, at least in public and online! This is the elixir in the grail. Your image MUST reflect who you are becoming. Image is style and energy combined. Show up as nothing less than fabulous, in your own way. Personally, for me, I consider that I deserve to show up like that anyway, not just to impress others.

Grace, which includes your image, is the PRINCIPLE VALUE AND etiquette of leaders. The habit of dressing as your highest self is one of the most energertically powerful signs you can communicate to the universe that you deserve a river of abundance!

This is the essence of personal branding. But personal branding from the inside out. It is based on your true vocation and calling, and the way that you use that vocation in your marketing.

9. Be discerning.

De-tox yourself of info-binge, gloomy news-feeds,

swooning, marketing tactics that no longer work, hustle-vibe social networking, self-doubt, complaining, bitching, to o much unprofitable busy-ness,slaying your best-kept-secret status, manicuring your influencer persona, claiming your power to Speak, Be heard and Be Paid.

BE YOU and Be Your Message. Use these principles and you will put yourself in a league of your own.

Implementing them daily, will rapidly increase your ability to attract the ideal clients to work with.

Practising them will accelerate your capacity to attract opportunities for powerful collaborations.

beauty Can Raise Your Vibe and Attract Your Tribe

Beauty is said to be in the 'eye of the beholder', in other words, subjective.

But in truth and science, certain patterns have universal appeal. Natural fractals — irregular, self-similar geometry — occur virtually everywhere in nature: in coastlines and river-ways, in snowflakes and leaf veins, even in our lungs.

In recent years, physicists have found that people invariably prefer a certain mathematical density of fractals — not too thick, not too sparse.

It's not exactly shocking that beauty can be sourced to the cortex of the brain. Beauty is a particularly potent and intense form of curiosity.

Why does that matter for our marketing, branding, and our vibe? Beauty that follows fractal form principles, is a learning signal urging us to keep on paying attention, an emotional reminder that there's something here worth figuring out. Beauty can capture your clients’ attention and hold it.

Of course, you don't have to master the science of fractals - just understand all the elements that contribute to your client attraction system.

Art captures and uses this ancient instinct: if we're looking at a painting, that twinge of beauty in the tableau is telling us that this painting isn't just a blob of colour; if we're listening to a Beethoven symphony, the feeling of beauty keeps us fixated on the notes, trying to find the underlying pattern; if we're reading a poem, a particularly beautiful line slows down our reading, so that we might pause and figure out what the line means.

Whichever the medium, beauty moves us, stirs the heart. Put another way, beauty is a motivational force that helps shift conscious awareness.

The problem that beauty solves is the problem of trying to figure out which sensations are worth making sense of and which ones can be easily ignored.

Imagine using that power on your website and social media lives! LIFE magazine named Jackson Pollock “the greatest living painter in the United States” in 1949, when he was creating canvases now known to conform to the optimal fractal density of light and colour.

Do whatever you need to do, to invoke your creative muse! If you’re in the business of creating, focus on the aesthetic, see what can be enhanced, reevaluate the superficial, and go from there.

The aesthetics of your service or product is much more than an added benefit. Creating a beautiful product delivers value. It signals to us its innate message of quality.

Cultivate the habits of beauty and grace because they are doors to a high manifestation vibe! When we are attuned to beauty as a way of being, we resonate with the emotions of love, joy, bliss, gratitude, excitement.

Our left and right brain hemispheres come into balance.

We access elevated emotion, space where our brains can be more easily re-wired for positive change.

Committing to cherishing our most beautiful, self counts as one of those habits. To dress and adorn our most authentic truth in our style and appearance, is to honour beauty as a virtue, regardless of our shape, size, or physical features.

To make oneself beautiful is to honour those who we meet. Even if it's just for the cat or the postman. However, your clients or audience will always be uplifted, inspired and honoured when you show up in your radiant beauty.

What makes an Office Du Jour?

Simple. It’s you setting up your office for the day wherever you want it to be. As long as you have your essential tools, the world is your oyster babes!

So, what do you need to work with?

According to your location, living and family arrangements, not every part of our businesses can be run from anywhere. Yet, part of our businesses can and the variety will serve you well!

What I find ideal for an Office Du Jour is my laptop, my smartphone, a clipboard, pens, paper, and fingers crossed… a WIFI connection. However, WIFI is not a deal breaker for me at all. I do run my empires online, but if I find myself without a connection for the day I can work on all the other “stuff” there is to do.

Planning: I plan my social media calendar (I love the app PREVIEW for this), upcoming launches, schedules, etc.

Freshness brings in new income streams that you may not have thought about working from your regular office (no matter how awesomely decorated or ideal it may be).

With an occasional or regular Office Du Jour moment, you are just testing the waters of new ideas, seeing how you feel in a new environment, seeing what bubbles up for you.

I bet you have a best-seller in you. So come down memory lane with me for a moment, if you will....

I’d like you to think back to all the books you have read over the years, the ones which have stayed with you until now.

The ones which have resonated with the very core of who you are; the books which transformed your life in such a way, you have never been the same since. I bet many of those books were the ones that took you on a rollercoaster, emotional journey with the main character or theme.

It doesn’t matter whether this book was a fiction book or a factual book, it is the journey woven into the words, the energy coded into the sentences, the pace, the descriptions, the hope and the joy you felt along the way, that moves you deeply and determines how it changes the course of your destiny.

If it was a book about business development, then the key character in this story of growth would have been more than a top ten list or a collection of emails; it would have been the growth of the company, the trends, the evolution of the industry, and the key secrets locked away inside the heart of the organisation and the people itself. Something that stirs you!

Biographies and autobiographies will have inspired you, prompted insights into the success of the main character, and the events which shaped who they are. Their highs and lows, their loves found and lost, only to be found again. The emotions you felt with the betrayals, the challenges you cheered them on to get through, even though you knew the ending of the story (or at least thought you did).

Take the world of fiction. All the best stories have a lead character and often interpret facts written as fiction, as well as insights and learnings for us to ponder and reflect upon, long after we have read the final word.

We love a feel-good story, a rag to riches tale; not to mention a bloody good mystery which we can puzzle our way through via every word on the page.

Crime and thriller novels are one of the most successful genres of all time, and one of the most easily digestible books. They offer an opportunity to contemplate a subject we wouldn't want in our reality, like a secret sneak-peek into another world.

A book without a striking main character leading us on an intriguing, sometimes explosive journey drops from memory the moment we close the cover.

Maybe ‘The Step By Step Guide On How To Achieve XYZ’ is the main character, but if that character doesn't move us, XYZ will end up on the pile of ‘vanilla junk food for the mind’.

And it's the same for you as you put your message out there in the written word.

Collating a series of blog articles, or ‘Top Ten Tips’ as a free giveaway for our business doesn’t make us an author; nor does running a 99 cents special offer for 24 hours in a random category, make us a truly talented writer.

In fact, in most cases the credit should be given to the VA who spent the time going through your blogs and top tips, putting together the pdf, and then creating the landing page for your readers to purchase said pdf.

When we choose to write a book, we are entering into an energetic contract that will be on record for the rest of time.

We are quite literally going down in the history books.

So many people wish they could become an author, yet 3% of people get around to writing one, and only 1% of those go on to become a published author.

Successful entrepreneurs read, on average, 60 books a year; most of those will have already implemented 'The Top Ten Tips To Success' they will be wanting a great deal more out of the pages they turn.

In doing so, we are standing for ourselves and declaring to the world that we acknowlege others' need to hear our stories because we needed to hear someone else’s to inspire us."

When we choose to share our journey with the world, we are choosing all of ourselves.

We are uniting our mind, heart and soul into one timeless entity, a book that will never go out of date; an evergreen book that will always be relevant because the human condition is evergreen.

Gifting ourselves permission to be read and so seen and heard, is a gift of love to ourselves. And in consequence, giving ourselves that permission, we permit others to be themselves in their wholeness.

We are all whole and complete, we just need a little more inspiration and a few more reminders, sometimes weekly, sometimes daily or even hourly.

So don’t sell yourself short by writing a ‘quick fix’ pdf and calling it a book, write a book deserving of your time and effort, and a book worthy of the accolade International Best-seller. Or choose a different accolade that is in true alignment with your legacy.

Maybe you haven’t yet discovered what your legacy is, then maybe working with an author-coach is just what you need to discover who you truly are and what you truly stand for.

There is so much talk about 'what we want', but most people never achieve their desires. The reasons for that are numerous, but the main one is because most people do not know the Laws of Manifestation and Success.

Once we understand the laws and how the process works of bringing something - anything - into existence, then we can operate in the world as a magician operates… asking for what we want, and poof! … there it is in front of us.

That’s when we discover FLOW. Effortless FLOW. Success is a tedious journey of struggle and effort with many pitfalls and lots of quicksand along the way, for those who do not understand those laws.

But success can be easy - even effortless But if we understand the process of how manifestation works and become skilled at it, our achievements can be bigger than even our most fantastic dreams.

First, consider that you live in two worlds: the Invisible World - where your imagination creates and where you visualize and feel your emotions; and the Visible World - where action takes place and things are real.

A chair is something we have in the Visible World. Running and laughing are actions that take place in the Visible World. In the Invisible World is where we feel happy or sad, where we visualize being on a tropical island, and where we see a possibility for our future.

She didn’t BECOME a gold medal winner she already was one, in the Invisible World, and of course that was the manifestation she created, because that is the Law of Manifestation!

So, decide what you want. Then pretend you already have it. And get the vision, and feeling, and detail in your imagination of what it is like to actually already have it.

And the Law says, within time, invariably if you do that, you will manifest your vision. You have just become a Magician, and Exponential Success is yours to claim!

is a mistake. Sure mindset is important, and in fact, it’s crucial for self-actualisation and PERSONAL growth – but it isn’t what’s going to drive your business and brand growth. And I’ll tell you why.

Focussing on mindset is important, but mindset growth is NOT business growth. Your business doesn’t have a mindset - it has systems and operations. Your business doesn’t have emotions, and the ONLY reason it’s living and breathing is YOU.

The problem is that you seem to be off on a tangent, working on your self-actualisation but leaving your business in a bit of a tizz. Your business is SUPPOSED to be running automatically, with a good strategic foundation, instead, your business is running you, as you’re constantly dipping your toes in and out of the business ‘when’, you have ‘time’ inbetween your mindset spurts.

Let’s be clear, your business is NOT a cold-hearted capsule waiting to be filled with ‘strategy’. Your business needs your positive energy and positive mindset in order to GROW with strategy, ideas and, most importantly, PURPOSE AND your business growth also depend very strongly on the growth of your systems and processes. If these are not in place, then no matter how much mindset growth you do, your business is going to fall back. And nobody wants that.

Let’s look at an example.

MINDSET GROWTH The thing I hear most from CEO entrepreneurs is that they want more clients. I mean we ALL want more clients, right? What do you do? Well, you decide to sell your products and services at CRAZY LOW prices so you can serve a lot of people. Bingo!

You’ve got more clients. Great. But if we think STRATEGICALLY, we can see that this isn’t going to be the best plan. Strategically, it would be better if you INCREASE your pricing, thereby taking on fewer clients, doing more concentrated work and earning more money per month. Right? Your MINDSET, however, may well fight against the idea of raising prices, and before long all sorts of negative mind chatter shows up.

“Who would buy a product from YOU?”, “Who are YOU to charge that amount?”, “You’re not good enough to sell that!”, “ You’re not clever enough for that!” and the list goes on and on.

You know what I’m saying is true, right?

This mindset comes from years and years of PRACTISE! You probably don’t even realise that you’ve been training yourself to think this way for YEARS and to get out of this mindset once it’s established, I will be honest, can be a HARD process if done alone. It takes a GOOD coach or mentor to work with you to shift this mindset. These include: Shamans, Healers, Business Mindset Coaches, Law of Attraction Coaches P sychologists RTT, EFT Coaches So we can see it’s a really common problem, right? Negative Mindset or limiting beliefs, can really HOLD YOU BACK, but once you get on the right track and start to challenge this negativity, it’ll do WONDERS for your confidence and you’ll step up and into a stronger and more confident version of yourself. But even with a more positive mindset and the knowledge that you CAN charge higher prices – you still need to think about what this means for your BUSINESS GROWTH. Charging more for your products or services also means you need to find clients who’ll pay ,

your new higher prices.

BUSINESS GROWTH Where do you ‘find’ the clients who will pay more now that you‘ve worked on your mindset? Yep, you guessed it, through the business operations.

However, right now your body and mind are running on good vibe feelings of how you‘ve realised that you‘ve not been able to offer higher pricing because of mindset limitations and old programming. For example, you realised that you‘re playing small when you could be the higher version of yourself.

There’s a lot of talk about up levelling your business with Quantum Leaps which mostly refers to up levelling your mindset with business tactics, but not necessarily building your brand and business operations.Be aware of this. Please.

(DISCLAIMER: For those reading and shaking their heads saying, ENERGY is what attracts. This is VERY true! And I don’t deny it. You’re here reading this article, aren’t you? I too used my energy to attract.

However, I KNOW my Mindset growth and Business Growth. I know who and what I’m attracting because I’ve laid the foundation to attract my soul group and clients based on my purpose. I run my business. It doesn’t run me. And when I run into mindset barriers I work on this independently of my Business Growth).

Your takeaway from this is to make sure you understand that what makes a business successful (i.e. profitable) is having your Business Operations in place. That means having a team around you, systems and processes. And that business growth is not the same as your mindset growth.

WHAT MAKES A BRAND SUCCESSFUL (I.E. BECOMING WELL KNOWN, A THOUGHT LEADER, INFLUENTIAL AND EXPERT) IS: a) knowing your life purpose, b) knowing your soul group and soul clients c) being 100% steadfast in your messaging and d) knowing how your products and/or services will fulfil the desires of each of your soul clients’ phases.

To love ourselves from a heart-centred space, allows us to receive and give far more love. Ok, so we are busy! But often busy doing nothing other than creating a business.

I say this with love BTW since I was guilty in the past of this very problem. In fact, as I write this, my phone and laptop are pinging away with notifications; it would be so easy to see who and what they are about and fall into a rabbit hole that may see me kiss

goodbye to 90 minutes of my day! That rabbit hole is where many women

Visualise what you want out of each day, how do you want it to look and feel like, - calm, aligned, healthy, happy, joyful.

Heat Proof Your Beauty Routine for a Radiant Summer Glow

Summer is such a wonderful time of year with us re-prioritising relaxation, outdoor activities and mouth-watering fruit salads that do wonders for the skin. Nevertheless, it can be challenging to look and feel your best when the temperatures rise. But all you need are just a few simple adjustments to your beauty routine to beat the heat, and ensure a healthy, gorgeous glow no matter how hot it gets.

Here’s how to optimise your daily routine and make-up to take advantage of this glorious season. Undoubtedly, wearing a sun protection product is essential. When it comes to make-up, many foundations, moisturisers and BB creams contain some level of sun protection. However, it's not enough to simply rely on these products alone as they don’t provide the sufficient level of protection against UVA rays your skin requires.

I advise adding a separate sun protection product with an SPF of between 30-50 to your daily skincare routine. Apply it after cleansing and moisturising in the morning. Then apply makeup. It’s important to apply the products in this order to avoid diluting your sunscreen and its ability to protect your skin. Opt for an SPF product specifically for the face as they’re generally lighter in texture.

Alternatively, try a powder-based sunscreen which is ideal for oily skin or for reapplying over makeup throughout the day.

Whilst dry skin generally behaves well in summer, it can be quite a challenging season for oily or problematic skin.

Thoroughly cleansed skin is essential to regulate the skin's natural sebum production and avoid breakouts. However, be careful not to overcleanse. Once in the morning and again in the evening is more than enough.

a

high-quality

cleanser

containing

ingredients that help to rebalance the skin. Even oily skin needs hydration. So always avoid anything that’s ‘oil-free’, contains alcohol or detergents such as Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, as they strip the skin of its natural oils which result in excess sebum production.

No matter what your skin type, switch to a moisturiser with a lighter texture. A simple yet effective way to give your makeup a little extra staying power is to wait a few minutes before applying makeup until the moisturiser has absorbed fully into your skin.

I suggest applying moisturiser immediately after you get out of the shower. Then wait at least 2-3 minutes before applying makeup.

You could even apply your eye makeup first and then your face makeup. As this will allow sufficient time for the moisturiser to fully absorb into your skin. A spritz or two of a hydrating facial spray will help keep the skin cool and calm throughout the day as well as provide a dose of hydration. It’s also a simple way to revive and refresh your makeup.

If your skin is a little on the oily side, simply apply a light dusting of powder blusher on top to set it.

To avoid shine, set your makeup with a light layer of translucent (colourless) powder on the t-zone area.

Make sure to apply a light dusting of powder. If you need to top it up throughout the day, build it up using light layers of powder each time.

Otherwise, you risk your makeup looking too cakey. Alternatively, use blotting tissues instead of translucent powder as they also do a great job of absorbing excess oil.

When it comes to eye makeup, in this instance it’s best to apply powder eyeshadow.

doesn't have as much staying power in the heat and tends to crease a bit more.

One way to avoid this is to apply a cream eyeshadow and then a powder eyeshadow over it.

I recommend forgoing liquid eyeliner in the summertime, especially black which can look too harsh and quite ageing.

A better option is to use a powder eyeshadow as an eyeliner instead, which gives a softer, more flattering look.

It’s also really practical as the technique is simple and takes less than a minute to apply on both eyes.

Last but not least, opt for a waterresistant mascara to protect against sweat, moisture and the dreaded panda eye look! I recommend water-resistant over waterproof mascara, as it’s much gentler on the eyes, easy to remove and won’t damage the delicate lashes. The main difference between the two lies in how much moisture it can withstand.

Unless you’re going swimming or plan on having your face in the water a lot throughout

day,

water-resistant

mascara does a perfectly good job of protecting against moisture.

Since time began, we complex humans have understood the need to withdraw regularly from our usual routines and habits, or the company of others.

Communities of spiritual devotees from numerous religious doctrines, prioritize this separation from society, as the only possible living condition on a path to enlightenment. In all cultures, convents, monasteries, temples, sweat lodges, prayer circles, camps, sleepovers, male hunting groups, wise women circles, vision quests, masterminds, clubs and families, our natural rhythm is to flow in and out of a community, while respecting our instinct to get the heck away!

Periodic withdrawal from society or community is vital to keep our psychological and emotional balance. I can hear you saying a "hell-yeah!" to that!

Equipped with a brain that functions at an average rate of 48 thoughts a minute (70,000 a day!) taking a deliberate break from the usual busy-ness of life is as important as sleeping. Never more so than now!

In this age of consant techie multi-stimulation, where we are bombarded from every angle and in every minute with stuff vying for our attention, so many fascinating media rabbit holes to go down, it is even more challenging to discipline ourselves to simply stop doing and find a way of just being.

Holidays are our usual way of retreating. “A change is as good as a rest” the expression goes,; putting oneself into a different landscape and context gives blessed relief from the potential monotony of routine, even if we love our preeminent change-maker lives! But right now , good luck with that, girls!

I invite you to discover a lovely latin-origin word - 'vacare' (meaning emptiness) the origin of the word vacation; it means shutting down and simply ceasing constant movement and thought (Oh yes please Jenni P!) Vacare is the fastest way to rejuvenate our energy levels. For those who are able, taking the time out to go on an organized retreat is a loving practice in self-care, because it allows for severing from everyday stress, logistics, and obligations. And what's not to give massive emojis to that?!

A retreat can catalyze change and renew inspiration in our lives. It lends time to clear out the habits we wish to break; it allows us to reassess our values, to discover new truths, and it inspires our path forward.

A retreat also helps us to reconnect with our inner highest selves, and check in with our aspirations and dreams. Regular withdrawal can enhance our vitality, remind us of out connection to our life’s purpose, and is often a transformational experience, like a sacred space to restore, strengthen, and heal. In temporarily departing from our loved ones for a while, we're always happier to see them again!

Despite knowing all of this, most of us don't prioritize regular pattern of withdrawal until a health, relationship issue, or other crisis prompts us to take radical measures. And get the hell out.

So soldered are we into the daily processes of material achievement, we'll give ourselves a hundred excuses why we must just keep hammering away with perpetual doing and constant thinking.

In doing so, we shrink the precious space given to rest, recuperation, and reflection. Time, money, and obligations to others, are the top excuses (I've been there often!)

But what if you tried a few new ways of taking a retreat, without ever leaving home? And just suppose you committed to taking time out; that it became the most important ritual you care about. With regular space just for you, how near your dreams would seem once more!

The good news is, it doesn't have to be complicated, and it doesn't have to cost a dime. With a business or career to run, relationships to maintain, homes and cars to service and our dreams to give attention to, finding ways to have minibreaks are the ideal way to stay relaxed, focused, energized, and inspired.

Here are some of my favorite ways:

1. First Things First Awakening from sleep is the most important time of the day. It allows us to set intentions, perform rituals, prepare mentally, and physically for the day.

It may sound odd, taking a retreat at the beginning of the day, but many women have only that space to juggle with, in their agenda!

Over the years, I've learned to value the awaking zone as the most valuable time of the day to retreat. In silence and after deep rest, when others are sleeping and before all the day's demands begin, this is a privileged time to just be empty, or reassess, or centre, and for me, is the most creative and effective time of all. My brain works on light speed in the morning quiet.

Meditation, self care, exercise alone, journaling, these are precious moments to set yourself up to be your most amazing self. But you need to claim that space and make sure that others around you respect your need for a temporary separation. Phones, PCs, TV, media – all buttons should be OFF. Silence – is golden. Not speaking for a while is the fastest way to connect with your soul.

Meditative music will enhance the atmosphere of sacredness. It is important to feel supremely comfortable. You are ‘Not Available’ until you're ready. In a shared house, it may take others a bit of time to accept your need to not be disturbed for a while, but they'll get over it. A retreat like this in the morning can take 5 minutes or 50. You can allow as much or as little time as you have. It is in the act of taking this time out that you declare self -love before you even begin the day.

2. Right Here, Right Now During the bustle of the day, once our brains are on auto‐ pilot with stuff to get done, there are opportunities to take mini-retreats from right where we stand or sit.

With mindful attention to our breath, or even a murmured mantra of reminding, it is even possible to disconnect from your surroundings in a room or bus full of people. The key here is to deliberately step outside of our thought patterns and become the watcher of those, with detachment.

All day long we're making judgments about people, ourselves, and events. The art of mindfulness is the art of slowing down the maelstrom of monkey-mind analysis we humans do ceaselessly.

Even for those of us who understand the interconnectedness of the universe and function with great empathy to our world, it is refreshing to clear our perceptions by endeavouring to see the world around us without constantly giving it labels.

Practice taking judging words out of your vocabulary – for yourself and others. Try to see the humanity in everything.

If you feel safe, simply close your eyes and be GONE for awhile.

Put on dark sunglasses and a hat and go for a walk incognito.

Pass amongst the busy-ness as if you were doing so for the first time. "Be in this world but not of it" as a wise man said.

3. The Kingdom of You or Thy Kingdom Come Remember how to, and allow yourself to, daydream. At every opportunity.

Daydreaming is the most powerful way of taking time out. In your imagination, you fully inhabit your inner world.

Learn to visualize powerfully and creatively.

As children, we daydreamed naturally and regularly. It was a vital part of growing into who we are. Fantasy, if it is in benevolence to all things is a wonderful place to visit. Nobody else is there! No one can hear you. No one can see what you do. Visualization is meditation on steroids. Fantasy gives them rose-tinted glasses.

If you can't conjure up pictures, there are plenty of superb guided visualizations online to help you! You can also doodle, write in a journal, sketch, play music, sing and dance!

Carry around or wear some kind of symbolic object that represents your goals. Play with it in your hand during the day as a trigger to re-visit the imaginary kingdom where everything you desire plays out as you wish.

In doing so, you are deliberately activating the good old laws of the universe to come to your aid.

It sounds so simple but daydreaming is one of the most powerful ways to transform your life! If you can, take a special time out for this. Go and hide in nature or in a special building that feels sacred to you.

Tell no-one about your daydreams, except maybe the ones who truly love you for your truth, and want your happiness as much as you do.

Retreating is less about logistics and more about sacred ritual. None of these mini-retreats need take very long, but the daily integration of these little sanctuaries of time is an affirmation of your deep commitment to your destiny. Just hide, breathe, and imagine...

And so it IS.

Dauda Zai aka david dawson 21st Century Troubadour and Beloved of Jenni P how 1 plus 1 equals 3 and a win-win-win for everyone

1+1=3 A formula so disarmingly ancient it has to be cutting-edge modern.

I am sure there are many stories to the discovery of this powerful formula. Here is mine!

As a story-teller and troubadour, I love the histories of other lives and 20 years ago was fascinated by tales of Jalal ad-din Rumi a 13th century Persian mystic. The story that I chose to believe true, involved Rumi (a well-respected, intellectual Imam) being ambushed

by Shams (a wild, passionate free-thinker) and the two of them getting each-other stoned into transcendence. When Shams left (maybe disposed of by jealous disciples) Rumi started to spin round and round the pillars of the mosque court-yard gabbling ecstatic poetry and his disciples ran about recording them on parchment.

700 years later less than half of the repertoire has been transliterated from ancient to modern Persian and then translated into English.

I joined poets who were interpreting Rumi in their own verse: "There are forms, there are shadows.

Look at your beloved with the eyes of god, and beauty will explode inside you.

Like when a raindrop collides with the sun and hurls a rainbow across the sky" In one of the books of prose, I came across a story of two lovers. Rumi said that most relationships are a line of communication and that lines are easily twisted and broken.

1 + 1 = 3 is to relationships what E = mc2 is to relativity.

All relationships are the meetings of lovers (admittedly often very well disguised).

When Jenni and I met, we put the principles of 1+1=3 into action and continue to do so. Be prepared to learn a lot about yourself!

The formula is exact. One is the same size as one and evermore shall be so.

It is not ONE and one makes three, nor one and ONE makes three.

And that's all the theory you need to know.

I was bought up in a sacrificial christian cult where subjugating your own needs to serve others was thought pompously holy.

Diminishing yourself never serves. But nor does inflating yourself and drowning the other with your own trumpet.

You are working in an environment where there are plenty of examples of 'me, me, me!'

You are about to do a dance and you happen to be a waltzer. The new friend does rock and roll. There is no capitulation; there is no ambushing. You watch the other, respectfully understanding their dynamic and wishing to uphold the integrity of their dance. They return the interest. As you approach each-other, neither is absorbed into the other but a beautiful new design called 'waltz and roll' appears. The dance-life of both is strengthened and sweetened.

Wanting to exalt the other without feeling threatened or diminished is a challenge for some, but when you do, the relationship becomes magically triangular.

When you turn the grab, grab, grab theology upside down, 'me, me, me' becomes 'we, we, we', with a win-win-win.

The House of Preeminence is based on this principle.

One reason for the power of Jenni's Trinity Code™ Methodology, (an elaboration of 1 + 1 = 3) is Jenni's keen, creative, empathetic desire for the success of the other.

The success of the whole Preeminence Movement requires clarity of purpose and generosity of spirit to enable such a big vision to make its intended impact for everyone.

This quantum equation especially applies to business, marketing, selling and collaboration. It is as practical as it is philosophical. In a win-win-win, the ripple effect can be felt in all areas of community and connection. It maybe as simple as clients who stay around for years, or expansive opportunites that miraculously materialise from thin air. Or glossy, world class magazines that shake up the status quo.

It won't all be perfect, but it will be progressive.

You will discover again and again, that 'in the noble art of enabling another, your own majesty shines forth'. Always.

Even when you can't see it and you would quite like a thank-you.

This was my own composition of Rumi's vision; a poem that was also turned into a song that Jenni and I recorded together.

Go deep and you lose all separation Hold your nerve and you cross each boundary Get sacred in your love and the numbers will distort Where else in the world, beloved, does one and one make three.

Deep down, you are your greatest teacher Be brave and you unravel your own mystery Look deep into the eyes and the invisible appears It's a blessed state, beloved, when one and one makes three.

David (after the Psalmist) John (after the Revelationist) came dancing onto the planet through the portals of Fundamentalism (Strict and Particular Baptist!)

After bouts with Anglicanism, Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism and Toltech Shamanism, he fell in love with Rumi, made poems using only place names and became a profoundly spiritual atheist, exhilarated by the pointlessness of all things .His great pleasure is patternating; patterns with words, patterns with rocks, patterns with tree stumps, patterns with musical instruments.

He is deeply simple and grateful for a day where he cuts steps through a forest (to earn money), plays his hurdy-gurdy, triple flute and hammer dulcimer (to meditate) and tends his own garden to the sound of blackbirds, blackcaps, garden warblers and horse snuffles (to feed mind, soul and body).

The (30+) vegetables he crops are magnificently moulded by the gorgeous Jenni-p into feasts of gourmet preeminence.

What is it like upholding a Preeminent Woman?

Jenni-p, the significantly equal other, makes a threesome daily with the Beloved. Somewhere between the pea-podding, magazine-editing, planking, pruning, interviews with movers and shakers (Jenni), raucous and melodic blasphemy (Dzai) there are moments of mutual preeminence fingertip to fingertip. Or back to back as we behold our very different daily agendas. If I waltz, she rocks and despite being as different as chalk and cheese, we have never had an argument in 10 years.

All so spacious and gracious. And yes she is as lovely as she looks!

Blissment : An early love poem inspired by our meeting and experiments with 1+1=3 Your body is a temple of lightness in which the Beloved delights to dance.

So when you know nothing any more and your life stumbles to the rhythm of regret and when the precious beat of your heart seems to fade in the dervishing whirl of nothingness just dance lightly the dance of the Beloved.

When thoughts seem to collide with a shuddering of sparks against the boundaries of knowledge and words are just a sequence of noises clutching frantically at meanings just dance lightly the dance of the Beloved.

When all around spins with chaos until even rainbows sag with confusion and the body is exhausted from rebounding off relentless expectations, just dance lightly the dance of the Beloved.

When the love flows so freely that language curls up and sleeps in the corner and the linking of hands is a full circle of communication and you spin on the diamond point of no time just dance lightly the dance of the Beloved.

Trends, Tips and Tantalising Havens for the Travelling Female Entrepreneur who values her well-being and eco-ethics as much as her globe-trotting!

(Pandemics aside!)

There are two arenas that have practically become marriage partners in the last 5 - 10 years - entrepreneurship and travel.

As entrepreneurs take to the skies (or campervan, or boat!) the edges continue to blur between leisure and business.

We now don’t travel for business, we travel AS our business!

The whole idea of combining our passions with our revenue is now mainstream business strategy! So naturally, the freedom of travel has become an integral part of the entrepreneurial landscape.

Whether digital nomad, location independent freelancer, travelpreneur, retreat leader, event organiser, blogger or VIP service provider, travel has never been such a big part of the entrepreneurial world.

Even though this pesky virus has slowed us down a bit temporarily, with events being cancelled all over the globe, borders closed, air planes on lock down and all hospitality outlets, closed, this crisis WILL pass and entrepreneurs will once again ask themselves, if I live my life connected to the internet, how can I get out into the world and deal with real people.

According to Siteminder, a company specialiasing in the hospitality industry, more and more millennials are travelling nowadays, with 72% in 2016 that had travelled more than in previous years.

Even more pertinent is that it’s expected they’ll make up 50% of global travellers by 2020.And it’s not just Millenials.

Empty Nesters and Single Entrepreneurs are taking advantage of the opportunities that cheap flights and alternatives to hotel accommodation can bring.

A top trend in the Global Hospitality industry is the awareness to keep health and well-being central to the travel experience.

“Travellers are certainly becoming more healthconscious, and wellness travel has seen an increase in recent years” says Siteminder.

"There’s no sign this won’t continue so hotels should be doing what they can to enable those guests who are seeking wellness to stay fit of body and mind while travelling.”

This is great news for female entrepreneurs, especially ones who are including VIP retreat and Mastermind experiences into their offerings.

Because travelling is tough on bodies, time zones, dehydration, inadequate exercise, stress and digestive systems, I have learned to stream-line a Wired, Winged and Well basic beauty and wellness kit and routine.

After being a dithererer who took hours and hours to pack, always packed too much and always forgot some essentials, I have learned to hone down to a minimalist ensemble that covers a 24 hour flight, a week’s wear and no compromise on glamour!

Here are a few of my Wired, Wings and Well tips!

Pack your clothing in mono-chrome.

Choose 1 colour or 2 max and keep everything in shades and tones of these colours. You’ll never have to struggle trying to match outfits.

My aim is to be able to hike around cities in absolute comfort with no compromise on style. So a smart hat, a soft chic, leather jacket, my everlasting gold Gola sneakers will take me from exploring parks, into posh boutiques, stopping by lovely restaurants and feeling dressed for it all!

A stylish and feminine rucksack carries animal print light rain coat, the items I want to keep safe, and leaves me hands free to take pics of inspiring sights!

Include plenty of scarves and jewelry. They are light and can dress up even the most casual outfit.

If you travel regularly, keep a duplicate travel make-up bag and toiletry trousseau. Grab it and go.

Travelling light keeps the flight costs down so limit toiletries to the minimum respecting the regulations on liquids and canisters.

For sure, travel can be as tough on the earth and it is on us so, since it’s not going to go away, I feel it’s our duty to travel responsibly in every way.

When I travel, it’s always for business so I research thoroughly the destination possibilities for me keeping my precious balance and vitality!

I am magnetised to comfort, style and attention to detail.

Any place that announces ethical or eco initiatives, gets my business.

As long as it’s beautiful and luxurious.

I recently visited Cape Town for a Visionary Business Event hosted by our own Visionary Biz Leader Sashka Regina.

I was curious to know why people would go to South Africa for an event!

She answered my curiosity by explaining that Cape Town is full of creatives and that the city was endeavoring to establish itself as a contender as a hub for international business.

With the exchange rate being so extreme, and the value of the ZA rand so low, I saw the value of hosting an international event there, for the city is stunning!

I was amazed not just at the hospitality of the people, but also what great value it was to stay over and dine out. pic

I have to give a shout out to a pioneer in this aforementioned hospitality trends - the hotel Signature Lux chain who are elevating Boutique Hotels to highly desirable and setting a new bar for hi-techie travellers who see ease of reaching the world through their laptops and smartphones, a top priority.

Glamour, eat your heart out! I wanted to wear the colour schemes!

The deco is fabulous, a dramatic mix of funky, tropical jungle print walls, animal print chairs that I could have packed in my suitcase, crystal chandeliers, baroque mirrors, muted lighting, marble floors and a nothing-is-too-much-trouble attitude.

Not to mention, gardens on the walls!

With many considerations to ethical and ecological functioning, and a price tag that anyone can afford, they managed to tick the style and luxury boxes along with the high quality service and personal attention.

The staff are darlings, the beds sumptuous and the showers up to the most expensive London Hotels.

Very impressive! With in-house restaurant menus catering for all tastes and needs, this is a great hotel for the travelling entrepreneur or event attendee.

Not least the proximity of all of Cape Town’s attractions and a superb multi-facted communal workpace - Workshop 17 just 5 minutes away, the Signature Lux is ideal for the modern, cableconnected business traveller.

And on receipt of the bill, you say, “Is that all?”
