How do we know if we are thriving and how do we get there if we are not, yet?

I offer you some ideas. Whether you are in this vortex, longing to know what it feels like or resisting the courage it takes to get there…I hope you will see yourself, be open to the reminders, and inspired by the possibility that awaits you, and most definitely lies within you.

MINDFUL

“The Best Way to Take Care of the Future is to Take Care of the Present Moment.” ~Thich Nhat Hanh

Mindfulness is the purposeful intention to bring your awareness upon wherever, whatever, and whoever is before you. Thrivers stay present while having foresight into doing what is necessary to take good care of their tomorrows.

Only when we self-abandon do we lose our way. Thriving in a steady state of wellbeing begins with bringing mindful attunement to yourself... noticing what you are seeing, hearing, smelling, tasting, touching, thinking, feeling, and intuiting.

Thrivers take mindful care of themselves, tending to their physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual health. With all of the external distractions and stressors, sovereignty over your inner state of wellness becomes essential. From this place, when loss, uncertainty, fear, doubt or worry arrives, you can bring yourself back to your inner knowing, strength, and truth... standing still and centered, amidst it all.

2: THRIVERS ARE

CONNECTED

Connectivity with one another is the most valuable form of currency in our world today. Because thrivers are more mindfully self-directed versus other-directed, they can actually be more available to others, as their authenticity engenders trustability. As powerful givers, mindful of the rights and needs of others, thrivers gravitate to being of service on a level playing field, where no one is seen to be more or less important, or exempt from being worthy. Thrivers connect because they are collaborative versus competitive, heart versus ego-driven, and deeply caring and committed to the planet and its inhabitants.

3: THRIVERS ARE MASTER

COMMUNICATORS

Thrivers have what I call high “Interpersonal IQ (AKA: IPIQ)”, merging their high emotional intelligence with the interpersonal field through direct, respectful, engaging, and effective communication. Because they are connected within and see themselves connected to everything and everyone, they speak deliberately and transparently… ensuring the integrity of their word and the preservation of their relationships.

Their verbal and non-verbal communications express warmth, which induces safety; gratitude, inspiring mutual appreciation, and ownership/forgiveness and apology inducing loyalty. Their aim is integration versus segregation. Their force field is magnetic because they embrace and lead with love.

CURIOUS

We all, as children, start out curious. Thrivers remain this way. Humble explorers and forever learners, they ask questions about others and about the nature of life itself. They do not presume to know it all, open to discovering ignorance, blind spots, and learning curves. They are students of life, seekers of wisdom, about all that is seen and unseen.

5: THRIVERS ARE

PERSPICACIOUS

The superpower of astute perception equips thrivers with heightened understanding. Their willingness to expand their lens to all perspectives offers wide-angle insight - focusing on possibilities versus problems. Looking for the takeaways in turbulent times turns bummers into blessings, and obstacles into lessons learned. Rather than get caught in the weeds of temporary circumstance, thrivers take anoptimistic birds-eye view to right what’s wrong, bring into balance that which is out of alignment, and find channels of healing and repair, revelatory discoveries, and opportunities for renewal.

6: THRIVERS ARE

RESOURCEFUL

“It’s not resources but resourcefulness that ultimately makes the difference.” ~Tony Robbins.

When we face hard times, we need to be willing to ask for help. Thrivers do.

Children use their imaginations to ask “What IF?”. Thrivers keep the spirit of that inquiry and exploration alive, as they look for solutions and possibilities in any circumstance and around any corner. They see space, where others perceive walls. They can envision, figure things out, and find new finds in what appears to be a vacuum. A thriving mindset remains open to hidden truths, ideas not yet recognized, and paths not yet taken.

Thrivers investigate, initiate, innovate, invent, and create. As Teddy Roosevelt said, They know how to “Do what you can, where you are, with what you have”.

COURAGEOUS

7: THRIVERS ARE

Thrivers are not fearless. They are human and can feel everything. They just don’tallow the fear to take over and lead. They do...by trusting their inner compass, acknowledging their growth edges, taking risks, course correcting, and bravely facing challenges head-on. They have the courage to look within, which isn’t always easy. And when there are misunderstandings or conflicts on the interpersonal front, thrivers have courageous conversations to clear the air, reach a compromise, and sometimes to let go.

8: THRIVERS ARE

RESILIENT

“A good half of the art of living is resilience.” ~ Alain de Botton

Life is full of inevitable ups and downs and twists and turns. Thrivers take it seriously enough to deal, but light enough to have a good time no matter. They know when to surrender, rather than resist. They are adaptable and flexible, fun, and playful…able to find humor in the absurd, and accepting rather than judgmental. As a consequence, their energy puts others at ease and inspires connection, cooperation, and joy.

10: THRIVERS ARE

SPIRITUAL

“Live Life as if Everything is Rigged in your Favor” ~ Rumi Thrivers tend to believe in something greater than what we can see, touch, and feel in the three-dimensional realm. They carry faith that something meaningful will rise from the ashes. If they feel discouraged or detour from their best self, they reach for higher ground. Those who thrive reach out to ethereal forces for guidance. With this trust comes quiet and comforting confidence that all will be well.

Connected to one’s spiritual essence, thrivers feel their own connectivity with all living things and remain aware of the impermanence of his life as we know it, good or bad. Like the “Serenity Prayer” they accept what they cannot change, and are pro-active players, versus passive spectators, in what they can.

In conclusion, I offer two reflective questions:

1. Which attitudes, attributes, and actions, described above, reflect who you are?

2. Identify those you would like to grow within yourself. How can you stay mindful, practice, embody, and share that with others?

Buddhist monk and peace activist, Thich Nhat Hanh said “Enlightenment is growing all the time. It is not something that happens once and is then complete.” Such is the same understanding here… that we are always in the state of trying to thrive, and that a “thriver” lives within us all.

“And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”

Excellence "The way you do anything is the way you do everything"

How To Keep In High Vibe For Your Perfect Day. You wake up. (That’s a given) You have two choices.

1. You immediately start running your itinerary through your groggy mind, mentally multi-tasking in advance, as you brush your teeth, feed the cat, and microwave yesterday’s coffee for lack of time. Or some other version of a rushed wake-up where you begin the day on auto-pilot, probably forgetting something as you rush out the door in the wrong shoes.

Or,2. You religiously take the time in the morning to run through a whole set of mindfulness rituals, gratitude journal, intentions, breath work, yoga, wealth mantras, a run or workout, mindful clothes selecting, preparing green smoothies for lunch. And sail out the door blowing a ‘You are freaking awesome’ kiss to your self as you approve of your reflection in the mirror.

Well I admit, these are extremes and we may zig-zag between the two of them according to our discipline, or lack of it.

But to achieve our perfect results day, we all know we need to keep our energy levels bouncing off the ceiling with excitement and anticipation, and with focused, inspired productivity. Preparing the day and maintaining a High Vibe Attitude is Not. An Option. It’s a necessity if you want to rock the achievement of your most beautiful business lifestyle.

A high vibrational attitude is like a mind tattoo.

It can stamp a picture of your own success into your thoughts so deeply, you are rarely swayed off your mood of sassy exaltation.

This will make you irresistibly attractive to clients and colleagues (and probably everyone else too).

It is not enough to be 'thinking the right thoughts' according to the jaded idea of ‘master your mindset’ pop visualisation lore.

Your whole being needs to be resonating at ‘Crush It FM’.

Now what happens if you can’t maintain that ideal?

Is it possible to stay in a high vibration all the time?

No. (I can hear you sigh with relief). But there is a proportion of the day that we must maintain in the state of energy that primes us for our success.

It is said that we must remain in this kind of mood and frequency for at least 50% of our day. In order to be at our most productive, and be able to wield our naturally magnetic, creative powers in attracting our desired outcomes, we must be able to ‘measure’ our attitude and default mood daily!

Just give yourself an out of 5 score, for how many hours of the day you can stay in an emotion and attitude of joy and excitement?

Interesting huh? Do you know people who radiate fabulousness, achieve incredible sales, pull off bad-ass projects, seem to magic up sizzling opportunities when they spend much of the day in a funk or a whinge, or an air of resigned victimhood?

Nope, me neither.

When I have asked my clients what proportion of the day they were able to stay in High Vibe, (I am talking about brilliant, talented, wise, creative, conscious people like you) they generally give me a 35 – 40% proportion.

You see it isn’t just about ‘staying positive’. Optimising your energy is about the practise of ‘embodying’ your success before you see it! I said 'practise'.

Is it reasonable to believe we can learn to manage this energy and use it to our advantage in our missions and visions?

Not only reasonable, but we ‘Heck Yeah! MUST commit to it!

A High Vibe Attitude is not an esoteric ideal of achieving monk-like zen. It is Quantum Physics at the service of your bad-assery.

And it is completely ‘entangled’ with your whole life, wellbeing and career.

So what if you are having a ‘Just. Not. Feeling. It’ kind of day?

What if you started the day in a version 1 Wake Up. And it isn’t getting any better?

Well, we can select from any one of the following activities which are guaranteed to raise our vibe:

Throw an online party Dancing or any aerobic sport Give ourselves permission to do what we love most in the world Meditation Sleep Hugging Sharing with girl friends Making love Making sales Laughing a big belly laugh Watching a breath-taking sunrise Helping an old person Hugging a tree or three Cuddling our pets Listening to an uplifting piece of music Take a bath with essential oils Have a film binge Make bread A combination of any of these... (my recommendation. Yoi're welcome)

This list is far from exhaustible but of course, there is a draw back. It’s not always convenient.

We have to get there in stages: Step 1. Acknowledgement. Surrender is a sweet saviour of bad days.

Allowing yourself to be tuning into ‘This Sucks’ FM and to stop feeling guilty about it is the ideal turn around. My favourite expression (that I made up :-) is: ‘Awareness is Awesomeness’.

To acknowledge, is to be empowered, and that inevitably leads to: Step 2. Relief. Relief is the pivot point. Your heart is already no longer in your booties – you’re already feeling a little lighter (vibe rising!). Your breathing is back to normal and your fine lines have reduced miraculously.

Step 3. Gratitude. Right now, wherever you are, have a gratitude moment.

Count 10 things immediately that you are grateful for. The emotion of thankfulness releases dopamine into your body. It’s an instant boost and that means you are on the rise!

Step 4. Enthusiasm. With a shot of natural dope in your system, (and ine lines softened) you should be feeling more alert and upbeat. Ready to refocus. So set yourself a mini intention for the rest of the day and look for the evidence of it occurring.

Step 5. Excitement. In imagining that intention, you will probably have experienced a little quaver of excitement. Even a weenie, mini one will have you back in a High Vibe instantly! High Vibes tend to like themselves so much, they re-produce. Give yourself a pat on the back and a piece of chocolate. Or three.

Step 6. Passion. If you can sustain this mood, and maybe do one of the 18 things in the list, (A good laugh? A hug, even it’s just hugging yourself?) and re-focus on your bigger desires, goals, dreams and visions (daydreaming is prayer!) you may hopefully be able to access, O joy of joys, some passion.

A swelling heart, some wit, humour, and an ardent commitment for your own well-being and success, will help.

Step 7.

Peace, calm, joy and grace are the most powerful

emotions in the whole darn universe.

This is the Highest Vibe of all. It’s the one in which you couldn’t give a hustle and grind about anything except your own state of being, and that is when you are on ‘Crush-it FM’ Then, the myriads of wonderful things that can happen in a day, are looking right your way because you have ‘Pick Me’ written all over you.

As with everything, practise makes perfect. And you even get to choose again HOW you wake up tomorrow. That’s a given.

Find your very own High Vibe version of starting the day and watch your 50% climb into 60%, 70% and higher.

Women entrepeneurs are like yeast, they are made to rise.

And, in High Vibe, we set the world alight. Go girls!

Blue is also linked to coldness. While oceans are beautiful, ice and glaciers are mightily cold and dangerous. When it comes to food, blue is among the least appetizing of colours as it is an indicator of spoilage and poison (think blue mould, rotting meat...)

In the chakras, blue is the colour of the throat chakra (fifth chakra); it symbolises self-expression, expression of truth, creative expression, communication, perfect form and patterns.

Hence

its

symbolism

with

voice

and

communication. In Sanskrit, the blue chakra is known as Vishuddha.

Blue evokes all that is cerebral. Serene and calming, it is the colour of clarity and communication.

According to colour psychology studies, blue has been shown to be the favourite colour among the world’s population and is particularly preferred by men.

It is, of course, everywhere in our daily lives. It’s the colour of the sky, deep space, the oceans, and lakes.

This environmental omnipresence of blue makes the colour non-threatening, conservative, and traditional, trustworthy and reliable. So if you are an in innovator or visionary, this may not be the colour for your new website!

Brands are not taking any risks when they call on a shade of blue for their identity.

It signifies stability and reliability.

Like all the colours of the spectrum, there are both positive and negative connotations.

When I began this article with the phrase ‘Feeling Blue’, we know this as is a common term for an emotion of dejection. Why blue for feeling down?

There are many examples of association with sad events and blue, throughout history (hence the origin of Blues Songs!) so indeed the colour has very mixed meanings it is good to be aware of.

Since blue is not just sung but has become they colour of speaking the truth, it invokes the energy of the teacher, the public speaker, an orator or bringer of news.

But blue is also idealistic, enhancing personal self-expression and our ability to communicate our needs and wants.

Blue's wisdom comes from its higher level of intelligence, a spiritual perspective. As we move up through the chakras from root to crown, blue is the gateway between body and spirit.

Blue is said to enhance contemplation and prayer. On the other hand, blue's devotion can be to any cause or concept it believes in, including devotion to family or work.

Blue is the helper, the rescuer, the friend in need. It's success is defined by the quality and quantity of its relationships. It is a giver, not a taker. It likes to build strong trusting relationships and becomes deeply hurt if that trust is betrayed. but Blue is also conservative and predictable, a safe and non-threatening color.

At the same time blue is persistent and determined to succeed in whichever endeavors it pursues.

Change is difficult for blue. It is inflexible and when faced with a new or different idea, it considers for a long time, analyzes it, thinks it over slowly and then tries to make it fit into its own acceptable version of reality. A lot like the corporate world!

Blue is nostalgic. It is a color that lives in the past, relating everything in the present.

All these symbolisms are played out when you wear blue so if you don't resonate with some of those less positive meanings it might be time to do away with safe navy! And strike out electric blue or jazzy fiesta turquoise.

Blue is a colour we love to wear to travel, for relaxing and meditation.

As a room decor it will create a

Morrocan Sapphire, neon, delft, ice, powder, baby, ocean, airforce, indigo the list of blues is almost endless.

The good news is that there are shades for you that wil be perfect for your skin and typology. Let's go into that.

Well, first of all, there is that universal classic denim blue in the form of jeans which suit just about everyone on the planet! Universal garment and cloth of leisure, blue denim has a care-free, young vibe. It can be dressed up or down, hanging out with the kids on Sunday or parading royally on a conference stage!

When choosing blues for your own skin type, if you're drawn to a particular blue, try to define if it is a saturated colour close to the Pantone original pure colour, or whether it is a shade, that is mixed with a bit of another colour (as in turquoise, or indigo which contains a little red). All soft blues have grey or white mixed into them. The grey mixed ones generally suit blended skin and colour platettes like soft summer and soft autumn. Blue with white in suits more of the cool, clear, fresh spring and summer skin palettes.

The purest blues suit winter palettes, ethnic skins and strikingly unusual types. My secret weapon for colour and palette analysis is a free tool you can find on the internet at https://colourwise.me.

You can upload a photo and start to build your palette. However, if you don't have the eye for colour analysis, this tool will give you a 'false reading'. Colour is a science, image is an art.

I always analyse my clients colour palette at least three times with different photos to get the right results. But it's in meeting them and getting them to describe their skin tones, that we get the most accurate results.

Blue shoes, suede or not, are very classy and can liven up neutrals with panache! Having your feet planted on the ground on a solid, reliable colour seems highly attractive but at the same time, the attention is drawn towards them as they seem somewhat magical! Move over the Ruby Slippers, blue shoes will give Preeminent class to casuals, suits, evening wear, active-wear and holiday clothes!

Turquoise is the one colour in our vast variety of colour palettes that all men and woman can wear- it suits everyone! All skin types, all hair colours, all eye colours - it is sensational!

In your branding and style, with turquoise you have the best of the reliability of blue with the uplifting, heart-sincere tint of green mixed in so that it gives you the most positive vibes and symbols of both colours!

Turquoise truly suits every skin tone and type and is the perfect colour for jewelry and accessories.

Selling and the topic of sales is interesting, and sometimes upsetting. Most of us hate selling, and most of us don’t want to be known as a salesperson. In fact, most people say things like, “I’m not a salesperson, I’m an artist”. (Or fill in the blank of what you call yourself.)

Why is that? Think about it. Really, there is nothing going on in life except selling. All the

I guess because I was quite young, when I learned that “Life is a Guest Seminar”, I have grown up loving selling. But not the kind of

time. Everyone. We are all selling.

He meant that we all are selling something all the time… we are all holding our own guest seminar about something, and we are all selling to our guests. That’s all there is. Selling.

But we resist it. We go out of our way to promise people that we aren’t doing it. .

‘selling’. Most people are saying that selling is where the person being sold is a Victim, and the person selling is the Abuser. I don’t blame people for not liking that!

You see, most people look at the sales process as if the Seller tells you what you want, tells you what you need, tells you what you can afford, then sits back and asks you are you going to buy it?

Think about that. When someone tells you that you want this, you need this, you can afford this, they are taking your own selfdetermined choices and making those for you. That doesn’t feel good. It feels like pressure and manipulation and pushing.

Then they sit back and ask you if you are going to buy. And that feels a bit scary, as we aren’t always sure of our decisions… are they right? Are others making the same decisions? Are we choosing the right way?

We worry and fret and aren’t sure of ourselves.

It’s uncomfortable being put in that position.

Then, if we choose to say "no", the “salesperson”responds that we made the wrong decision and resells us – telling us again, that yes we do want it, need it and can afford it – until our decision to say yes is less uncomfortable than our decision to say no; and at that point we buy it.

But we don’t feel good during the process.

And usually, we lie about the fact we are getting it, and just wait for a time when we can cancel once they are gone. That’s the process people are talking about when they say ‘they aren’t a salesperson, or that they aren’t good at selling.

That’s the process that people abhor and resist and run from.

I coined a new word for selling because the word selling itself brings with it such bad feelings and thoughts. I use the word ‘enrollment’.

Enrollment has heart in the process, and self-determination and choice, and honour for the other person’s point of view and decision.

Enrollment is exactly opposite from the sales process I described above. In enrolling someone, you find out if they want it, need it and can afford it. You ask them questions, rather than telling them what they should feel.

“Is this something you feel you would get value from?”

“Is this something you feel you want and desire?”

“Is this something you feel you can afford and would be willing to pay for?”

With those kinds of questions, you lead a person inside – to find their own answer for themselves.

However, when a person goes inside, they usually find doubt and uncertainty and fear, long before they get to their own true answers to those questions.

So, at the same time, you must be willing to receive the considerations that they share when they run into those inside fears.

You must be willing to allow them to have those feelings, to share them, to receive them, to get them, and to acknowledge that you understand how they feel.

Don’t try to talk them out of their concerns.

That is ‘selling’ again. It merely throws the concerns back to where they have them again.

If you receive them and acknowledge that you received – “I understand”, “thank you”, “fine”, “good”, “I hear you”, “I see” – then they won’t have those concerns anymore.

They will let go of those concerns, and they can go deeper within themselves to find a truer answer to your questions.

And at some point, they will say either – “yes I think I would get value”, or “no, I don’t want that”.

communication, relationship skills and leadership. The first thing I tell people if you want to be more successful in anything, is to consider what assumptions you are using to interpret the situation.

Depending

on

what

assumptions

you

use,

you

will

have

entirely

different results. But people get caught in ‘beliefs’ and consider that all their assumptions about how the world works are ‘true’, and they get stuck in those beliefs, even if they notice the results aren’t what they actually want. They keep thinking the same way, with the same interpretation, and they keep having the same rotten result.

I say, “Change your interpretation!” Try on some new assumptions and perspectives. Instead of thinking what is ‘true’ or ‘right’, think in terms of ‘does it work or not?’ to produce the result you want.

Take relationships, and how women look at men for example.

Most women talk to and relate to men as if they are the same as women, only have more hair on their chest. We assume they think like us, look at the world the same way, and have the same capacity. I say that is an interpretation that doesn’t really work well to produce extraordinary relationships between men and women.

I have a different interpretation, and it seems to work better.

My

interpretation

is

that

men

and

women

are

entirely

different,

almost like a different species. I feel that woman need to learn how to talk to and relate to men, instead of trying to relate to them as if men hear and understand the same way as a woman does.

Of course, I think that men make the same mistake and relate to women as if we are ‘just like them only more emotional’.

I think a better way to look at it is to consider that men are ‘producers’, and women are ‘consumers’. Producers get things done and need a job to do. Consumers are the ones that have the appetite and say what they want.

Think of it this way: women call, men respond. Men want to produce for their women. They live for it. They want their women to be happy and they want to make them happy. A man will do anything for a woman. It’s his pleasure to pleasure her and give her what she wants.

It’s that simple.

As a ‘consumer’ then, a woman must learn to have an ‘appetite’.

She must expand her ability to desire things.

Consider it like having a huge buffet of desires, rather than just one choice of a meal. If a woman doesn’t want and desire things, then how can a man produce for her? But I find most women feel they don’t deserve to want anything. They think they must do it for themselves, and they find it hard to ask for things.

And in addition, they aren’t clear on what they want in the first place, even if they did feel worthy to have it. And there lies the dilemma.

A man can’t give a woman something, if he doesn’t know what it is that she wants. And to make matters even worse, a man needs to know specifically what his woman wants – most men don’t read minds like most women do, and most men don’t take hints well.

So, ladies, be clear about it. Women are able to figure out what you mean if you aren’t clear. But a man isn’t a woman. He needs to know clearly what you want. Don’t make him guess. He’ll get it wrong.

I knew a couple once where the woman told her husband she “wanted flowers all the time”. So, he brought her some plastic roses. Yes, it actually happened. And then she beat him up for not understanding what she meant, and she threw the plastic roses in the garbage. Not nice.

Women just let your man know exactly what you want. But let him know in a nice way. Be attractive. Be seductive. Be fun. Don’t be so stingy with your ‘nice’.

Too many times, women are bitchy and mean trying to get what they want. Men do not relate well to bitchiness. Bitchiness is an asset for a woman, as long as she doesn’t use it. The fear of it is more powerful than the action.

Men need to win in order to move. They are paralyzed if they are losing.

Think about it as if men operate on two channels. Winning and losing.

Not shades of grey like women – but merely black and white. They are winning or they are losing.

Not sure that is actually true, but using that perspective to operate from, seems to produce better results. When men are winning, they can produce anything. And when they are losing, they are stuck and not able to move at all and not able to produce anything either.

If you are frowning, then they are losing. If you are angry then they are losing. Smile, laugh, have fun with your men, and tell them how well they are doing. Stop nagging. Be nice. Stop being a bitch.

At this point, most women will want to say, "It’s not that way at all". Well, ok, but what are the results you are getting?

Are you getting all that you want from your man?

If not, then just try this interpretation on, and see if it doesn’t work to give you better results. Be attractive and fun, and remember women call, men respond.

Whatever you are getting from a man is as a result of how you are calling. Stop trying to change him. Change the way you call. Call in a fun and attractive way. There is never any need for anger with a man. It simply won’t work.

And be clear about what you want. Say it exactly. Make him a list. He will want to produce for you. Men want to produce for their women.

I know that women are producers too. In fact, most women can produce even faster, and more efficiently than most men and they can do lots of things at once. But when you ask a man to produce something for you, and then you go and do it yourself, then you just castrated him. That’s not pretty.

So thank him for producing and giving you what you want.

Men love appreciation and acknowledgement. Well we all do.

But men particularly like to know they did a good job. So, tell him. And tell him often. He’s your guy. Let him know how great he is and much you appreciate him, and tell him often.

Here is the magic formula: first, find something he has done well, and tell him you love that in him. Be authentic, be truthful. But find something.

Now he is winning. He can move. Then be clear about what you want and ask him in an attractive and fun way – don’t demand, and don’t argue, and don’t nag.

And when he gives it to you, even if it isn’t exactly the way you wanted, or when you wanted it, then let him know how great he is and how much you appreciate him and thank him for it. Tell him what a good job he did.

And then be nice to him. Give him a treat! He’ll want to do an even better job next time. Just try it out and see if it doesn’t work.

“Being an activist is one of the greatest things you can be. You think differently, you act differently and you bring the fire to the boardroom others are scared to bring. It’s what creates the best innovation and diversification in every area of life.”

Lying there in the dentist's chair, with emotional pain raging through me, so much so my lower body was shaking in its wake. I wondered if a man would ever love me if he knew what I looked like beneath the crowns now being fitted.

What if I was live on TV, standing on stage or being photographed when the crowns fell, revealing to everyone the disfigured teeth I have underneath?

A disfigurement caused when I hit the deck of a yacht in a storm as I crossed the Atlantic some 18 months before, seeking adventure and heading to my next destination on my global book tour.

What would the people think of me then?

Would they turn away in disgust as I have done for years at the sight of what I have deemed as ‘manky teeth’?

Would people be able to look at me and listen to the words coming out of my mouth? Or would they only see the ugliness of the teeth that had been hidden so beautifully beneath the surface?

With these thoughts and emotions presenting themselves, it made me consider my true beauty, especially given I had been so judgemental about others and the state of their teeth.

Had I really been that unconsciously conscious about needing to have the perfect smile?

Always the first to clean my teeth, mouthwash, and drink water after anything acidic. Always the one to be at the dentist every nine months for a polish and a check-up.

And the woman who'd reached her late thirties before even needing a filling.

Was this the mirror I needed to present to me the negative judgements I had on myself and others?

Was this an ugliness within my soul I needed to release?

Along with an attachment to my beautiful smile that needed dropping?

We all say a beautiful smile is the one that radiates from the eyes, the soul, and the mouth is only a small part of the smile, but do we believe this about ourselves on a deep energetic, unconscious level?

And what did all these new realisations mean? What was I making them mean?

What was I projecting onto others that I had not been aware of until now?

Or had I been aware of them but choosing to ignore that part of myself?

What stories have I been making up about how loveable, attractive, and beautiful I am?

And does it matter if people saw these damaged teeth?

We’re all damaged in one way or another, some physically, others emotionally, many mentally, very many spiritually and financially damaged, and who are we to judge them when we know nothing about their journey?

We are Kinder to others than we are ourselves - the default for so many of us. Here we are rising to the top of our game, meeting others where they are, and preaching kindness, authenticity and honesty.

But are we kind to ourselves, being honest and authentic with the woman deep inside of us? Do we love the little girl inside of us, the one who was damaged by cruel words in the playground, the classroom, and in her own home?

The little girl longing to be seen, to be held, and loved for all of who she is, not just the way she looks?

Like the waves of my beloved ocean, the emotions washed over me, relentless, never-ending.  As did the sound of the dentist drill, piercing my tough exterior, the protective shield I had built around me for me to feel safe.

Avoiding love, avoiding parts of my psyche I was blind to before this moment.

Forced to accept, in being pinned down, a whole new awareness of vital choices to be made.

As I lay there, silently screaming in emotional pain, my tears fell. Yet, in the brutality of intense, messy dental surgery, my tears remained hidden by the four hands from the two different dentists as they worked away drilling, filing, and grinding away healthy teeth to fix my beautiful smile.

So many of us hide behind a metaphorical crown as we lead our teams, organisations, and our audiences around the world.

We carry a multitude of secrets and scars deep inside of us, some of them so traumatic we cannot even begin to fathom how on earth it could have happened for us.

Fear.

Rejection.

Embarrassment.

Shame.

Guilt.

Working through them all as I lay there, choosing to feel them, breathe through them, and release them.

Just like I work through the emotions of my clients as we write and prepare to publish their story and the post-publishing rollercoaster of emotions that follow.

Being seen for who we truly are is a bold move, one of courage and conviction, and one only the bravest of the brave are willing to take

We've got so great at avoiding and bypassing the shadows and recesses of our minds, until that song, that smell, that name, or that place reminds us of it all over again.

Back there. Hearing, smelling, tasting, and feeling all of it, and just like before, we push it down, and each time we beat our personal best at ignoring, avoiding, and shifting past it.

But we are not shifting or releasing it, but merely moving it to a different place, or back in its place, until the next time.

Because we know there is always the next time.

That’s why we are still avoiding it, running from it, holding ourselves hostage to something that happened for us, for us to shine a light on it so others can heal, rise, and avoid the avoidance.

We are passionate about our purpose in life, unravelling the myriad of myths in the world we live in, discovering the truth of 'What if?' is why we do the work we do, live the lives we live, and why we have become the women we have become.

We are leaders in so many unique and beautiful ways, and the world needs to hear our voices. The causes closest to our hearts need a voice, a louder voice; isn't that why we have aligned ourselves to these causes in the beginning?

Our charity work, or chosen avatar, our empathic tears falling, all signs of a deeper level of awakening needed within us.

Our awareness of self, the way we leverage our leadership through our relationship with ourselves, forgiving ourselves, loving ourselves, wholly and completely, the good, the bad, and the perceived ugliness all combining to bring about boldness like never before.

The boldness to speak our truth, The courage to share our stories, The conviction to stand and be counted for what we believe in,  For the woman we are behind our crowns, the self-imposed crowns, and the ones gifted to us by others, the ultimate freedom, the ultimate gift to ourselves and others. When we gift ourselves permission to be seen for all of who we are, we permit others to be all of who they are. Soon the ripple effect of that will heal many women, children, families, communities, and the world in which we live.

My freedom is your freedom, is your daughter’s freedom, your sister’s freedom, your mother’s freedom. We are all connected, and when we rise, our fellow females rise.

When we shine a light on our shadows, they disappear.

Darkness cannot be where there is light.

Heaviness cannot exist in lightness.

Shame cannot exist in love.

Embarrassment cannot exist in confidence.

Guilt cannot live in forgiveness.

I invite you to call yourself forward even more than ever before, lead from a space of true freedom, gifting yourself and others tranquillity through a new lens of leadership, a new sense of self, and a deeper level of self-love.

Grieve for the woman you were and celebrate her as she takes these courageous steps forward.

You are beautiful in all your perfect imperfections, and remember to smile from deep within, because it looks great on you.

Always has, always will, crown or no crown.

There is a crack in everything, that’s where the light gets in” Leonard Cohen “ If you’ve ever felt confused, upset, anxious, fearful or vexed about money, welcome to the club. There are about 5 billion members here already. You aren’t alone, although it feels like it when you’re trying to work out how this energy that keeps humanity alive, actually works.

I’m blessed to understand how it works (at least for individuals like you) and I’m here to share with you what the rest of the 4.8 billion other members will never know. Ok, I’m being a bit playful with those figures but the fact remains that entrepreneurship accounts for 582 million of those members.

And naturally, like you, they are trying to work money out.

For so many reasons that I won’t go into here, failure to understand how the energy of money works is the reason those entrepreneurs never thrive. And I don’t want that for you.

Yes it’s a real word! And it means painful confusion.

So as we move through the stages of Alignment Activation that I offer you in my work and this magazine, let’s start with an overview of what discombobulation can look like, and what it actually represents.

Here’s the thing. You actually can't up-level without some discombobulation happening in your life. It’s part of the process. So just breathe.

The journey that we take ourselves on as an entrepreneur is bound for discombobulation.

It's uncomfortable, it can be scary, and your ego will get involved. It's all part of the process.

You must understand and accept that it's going to happen, but be reassured that you actually have everything you need to come through it over and over again. And to truly grow your capacity for mastering wealth.

I’m here to let you know that, here, right now, you CAN be in the top percentage of thriving entrepreneurs and that reading this, you have just taken a giant leap in joining them.

So first let’s start by focusing on you being a congruent match for abundance in general.

Because you can’t get to wealth mastery without it!

So let’s go back to that confusion and anxiety that occurs so often around money.

There is a cute word in the English language for this not-so-cute state - it’s ‘’discombobulated."

Back in the days when I was still trying to figure money up-levelling out, when I was still trying to figure out what my gift was and how I could take it out into the world as a business, I was discombobulated too.

I'd been working with a mentor for a few months. I'd invested a huge amount of money with him at the time. It was coming up to Christmas and I will always remember getting on this call with him. I was furious because I'd signed up with him with a really big loan. That was a first for me. It was a really a big, hairy deal to be hanging out with this guy.

And I just wasn't getting the results. If anything, what was showing up for me was pretty rubbish. It wasn't good at all, and I remember getting on this call and really, really going at him. I was blaming him and questioning why, when I'd invested so much, and why, when I was doing all the work, were my results were not happening.

Why did things feel worse? Why did things look worse? Why was my life seeming more confusing? Why did I have less clarity than before? And in my discombobulation, I was essentially saying, "You know buddy, this is your fault, I need you to fix this. What's going on?"

On that same call, he shared with me an analogy that I'm going to share with you now, about a humble acorn. And it changed everything for me. I finally understood the process.

An acorn, that tiny little brown and green, hard thing about an inch long, has everything it needs inside of it to become a mighty oak tree which may live for several hundred years. Hard to imagine that that great, beautiful tree is all hidden inside this little acorn, isn’t it?

However, it needs the congruent conditions for that transformation to happen. It needs to drop into the right soil conditions and spend a few months in the ground in the dark.

And then, with the right conditions, dampness and temperature, it emerges into the new version of itself. The shell will crack. The seedling will break out of the shell and then it will go up towards the light. When it reaches the surface of the soil, it will break through, emerging into the light and dying to the old version of itself, because its destiny is to become a great oak tree. It's dying to its ‘identity’ of being an acorn, a tiny insignificant seed, to give way to the process of becoming a mighty oak.

And on the cracking of that shell, with the shell subsequently splitting right off and then rotting, it creates a bit of a mess.

This is discombobulation. It infers that your money life is going to be a bit messy too.

It can feel as though you’re always taking one step forward and two steps back. That the same cycles repeat themselves.

That inconvenient or worrying money stuff happens. Or that you say stuck, frustrated at the level of income you are at.Essentially, that’s because you’ve always done things the same way.

If you’re aspiring to embody a whole new money reality, you're going to have to get used to doing things in a different way to how you've done so before. And it isn’t going to feel good.

When you start to change, resistance will come up and your ego will come kicking and screaming into the plot.

Your ego, the part of you that is designed to keep you safe, will be watching your new actions and your new steps to create a new reality and ground a new reality with bated breath. Your ego will see the changes as a threat to your very life.

And discombobulation WILL result.

Up-leveling goes hand in hand with discombobulation. It’s you as an acorn turning into a tree.

You will have to die to your identity as a small acorn so that you can become a great oak.

Strong, resistant, thriving, a mighty tree of abundance. There will be some mess, as you split your acorn shell. If you are not prepared for that process, you may try and shrink back into it feeling like you need to call in the acorn shell-repairing company; to fix your shell because it's broken.

Here's the danger.

You're just going to stay the same. Like so many people, you will buy into what your ego wants you to buy into. But you can't up-level without creating discombobulation.

It goes hand in hand with egoic resistance.

So, as an entrepreneur who is going out in the world seeking to create a big impact or even create their own movement, it's very helpful to understand that this transformation is a vital part of the process.

When my mentor told me this metaphor about the acorn, at the time it was no help whatsoever. It didn't make me feel any better in the moment.

But now, as a thriving ‘oak tree’, I understand that he was correct and that we must trust the process.

I still use that same analogy with people, to remind them of the greatness that they have within.

What’s happening is that you're dying to your old identity and it will create a mess.

So things are going to look like they're going wrong. Things that you thought you were dealing with are going to go wrong.

There are going to be days where you’ll wonder “ What the hell is happening here?

I thought I was doing it all right. I’ve been doing the work.”

That we are all oaks in potential. That in order to allow your greatness to emerge, there's going to be a little bit of a mess.

Let’s take a ‘mess’ example… say you're doing your due diligence work around your finances. Being careful and responsible.

And then you get a big bill through the post that you weren't expecting, or your car breaks down. You absolutely have to get the car back on the road. It's very frustrating. Why is this happening when you’re doing the work?

However, here are the possible dangers: you might start wondering if you're on the wrong path. You’ll try and reason that, if you were on the right path, this stuff wouldn't be happening. You’ll wonder if you’re cut out for entrepreneurship. You’ll wonder if you’ll ever break through to a level of abundance that feels good. You will feel at times, utterly discombobulated!

And you just have to expect that. By expecting it, you're not manifesting or creating it, it's going to happen anyway.

But when you've got an awareness around it, you can learn to navigate it.

But actually, this discombobulation is happening because you're on the right path.

It's not time to bury yourself back in the ground and try and fix your little acorn shell. It really isn't. It's a time to have courage, be brave, step into the greater version of yourself.

Know that this too shall pass. In a few weeks time, the cosmic tumblers are going to start falling into place and good things will happen.

If you can keep your ego in check because you’re aware of what’s happening, you're going to come out of this phase stronger! And you can use that ego resistance to your advantage!

It’s your ego's job to keep you safe so it’s better to make it work for you rather than against you.

When it knows that you're not going to go back to your old small money ‘acorn identity’, when, by your persistence, you surrender to the process, its job will be to support you as the seedling to your glorious oak identity future!.

You can harness your ego to support you so that you can then move into the next phase of your growth and the next phase of your growth.

So how can you navigate this discombobulation in the moment, when it feels so uncomfortable? That is part of the uplevelling process. It's very handy to know it's going to happen. As sucky as it can be, and it can be sucky, know that this is absolute evidence that you're shifting, otherwise, it wouldn't be happening.

If nothing was changing, you wouldn't be creating discombobulation. If you weren't shifting, your acorn shell wouldn't be breaking.

If you weren't moving from the dark to the light, nothing would be changing. And one of the most powerful ways you can make sure that you allow yourself to be reminded of that is, to lean into your support networks, whatever that looks like.

Get on a call with a buddy and just purge about how sucky everything is at the moment, despite all your best efforts. Get it out of your system, do whatever it takes to just shake it out.

Lose your temper in a respectful, safe environment, where you are supported.

Have a good cry. Journal for hours, if you have to. Just get it out of your system, but don't buy into stepping back and trying to fix your cracked acorn shell.

Make sure that you've got support around you. Whether it's a Facebook group, good buddies at the end of a phone call or a Zoom call, your coach, your mastermind like team members. All of those things are really great places to get support. If you don't have support, reach out and get some.

Know that support is energetically congruent to money, because when we're supported by money, and we feel supported by money, we are choosing to be supported. If we then go out in our lives and we push away support, or we don't allow ourselves to receive support, we're not actually creating congruent conditions to have money show up for us. Because money has that kind of representation of support in our experience.

Fear will come up.

You can't up-level without experiencing it. You can't clear fear.

It's uncomfortable, it can be scary, and your ego will get involved. Your natural human response to anything unknown is fear. But trust that you'll soon be through the messy stage, leaving the cracked shell behind, pushing up through the soil and connecting with the light that will enable this fabulous transformation.

Remember, for you and an acorn, the only way is UP! Towards the light.

Every time has a gift.

You may not feel grateful. You may say 'thank-you' through gritted teeth like you did when you were 13 and grandma gave you a two-sizes-too-big, hand-knitted yellow cardigan with a pink bunny on it as a christmas present. But gift it was nonetheless.

And Covid has brought the generous and vital reminder that in the midst of our mesmerising invulnerability we are fragile.

That we ever made it here at all with this bewildering body balanced on the perpetual precipice of breath deserves an epic song. That we function so flamboyantly through filtering a symphony of sensations deserves a celebratory musical.

And yet, in the midst of all this triumph, we are just a ruptured optic cortex away from persistent darkness, just two fractured cochlea away from perpetual silence, surfing the electromagnetic waves exultantly, just a tumble away from white-out!

How fragile we are! Of course. We are humans living in duality, capable of feeling confident and frightened, majestic and pitiable, competent and bungling simultaneously. And always the possibility of perpetual renewal. Covid has brought us two fragile gifts in one, a yellow cardigan and a pink bunny!

Take something as simple as wearing masks to reduce the likely spreading of Covine infection.

People have been killed in disagreements over this and every theory, straight or convoluted, has its hyper-ventilating guru.

I quickly realised that what was at stake here was the fragile beauty of my tenderly creative mind. I made a decision, using a guru who had a nice face and a clear, quiet argument, and blocked all the rest. I don't mind if we agree or not, please let's just watch those goldfinches fluttering excitedly about like shattered rainbows under the apple blossom....'Beauty is truth, truth beauty, - that is all ye know on earth and all ye need to know.' (Keats shortly before dying of tuberculosis aged 25) Secondly Covid reminded us of the fragility of our existence. And this gift, used wisely, makes our life so much sweeter. All the time we think we are masters of the universe, firing our rampant genius through the evangelical blunderbuss, we are in danger of missing the point.

The point is not the winning or the being noticed or the fat bank account or the worship of onlookers (lovely though they all are), the point is noticing your balance on the surf-board, feeling the wave thrumming on the edge, the wind whipping salt-spume into your face, the mewling kittiwake, the cumulo-nimbus bulging its cauliflower into the blue sky, the distant cry of happy children on the beach.

And in this immediate focus lies the jewel of perpetual renewal. Knowing that something might be taken away at any moment helps you see 'a world in a grain of sand, heaven in a wild flower, hold infinity in the palm of your hand and eternity in an hour' (William Blake).

Love is always as simple as that. Pay attention to what you have as if you might lose it and it suddenly has the power of a raindrop, which when hit by the sun, fires a rainbow across forever.

Renewal. Look again at the old with new eyes and you will always find some sleeping beauty hidden within.

I am wise enough to live with a culinary genius, and she is wise enough to live with a pig-headed gardener who will fight all-comers to drag some fresh vegetables to the table.

Somewhere between 7.30 and 10 (culinary geniuses are flexible) our two arts join in a rampage of relish, rejoice and rejuvenate. We celebrate the richness of our Covine confinement by reminding ourselves we only ever are, where we are, and if we are not 'now here', we are 'nowhere'. And tonight my Fronton Rouge wine has an 'attractive bouquet blending fruits, spices and smokey notes' so I hope I am not too fragile to make it!

So love in the time of Covid offers the enhanced challenge of not giving away your power to every conspiracy theorist, but loving yourself enough to recognise the guru within. Guru.

Every month I present my Diva Bowl, which is the fabulous equivalent of a Bhudda Bowl, the ideal mostly raw, superfood power-pack of a meal, I can think of.

My menus are predominantly plant-based, low carb, gluten free and full of super-foods.

But I also love fish and a little farm friendly poultry occasionally, and never ever touch industrially reared or produced ANYTHING! You can find every piece of nutritional information under the sun under Google’s titan power, and I heartily encourage you to take the advice of a nutrition certified professional (such as our own Fitness Goddess Alison Stockton see her article of Gut Health!) It is important to understand what works for YOUR body and health. Nobody is the same hence my intolerance of diets and fads.

Assemble all your fresh ingredients, plus lots of chopped parsley on your work surface.

PLANT POWER PIZZA Gluten free - vgetarian, not vegan Superfoods are not just something that athletes need...they should be a main part of your varied and healthy food principles. ( I hate the word and the idea of diets!)

The main principle is that every morself you put in your pretty mouth is optimising your vitality, your metabolism, your beauty, your energy, your immune system, your ideal figure and your libido.

But as with the philosophy of Fab on a Plate, you're feeding your soul as well!

There is no need to give up all the scrummy comfort foods you like, but simply adapt them with plant based ingredients and raise your vibe as you drool!

Cauliflower, like broccoli, lends itself to replacing bread and rice - yes really! Combined with protein rich ground almonds, you can make a myriad of super-food savoury snacks, one you've got the hang of the blend. It's a throw in the blender job too, so super fast and easy! So important for Preeminent Women! I’m a huge fan of super fast food meaning superfood that doens’t take ages to prepare!

In the past few years cauliflower rice pizza crust has gained huge popularity as a low carb gluten free alternative to traditional wheat flour pizza crust. Nowadays you can indulge in “pizza”, America’s favourite comfort food, and not overeat or feel bloated. Cauliflower is high vitamins K and C which keep your bones healthy.Cruciferous vegetable like cauliflower help detox your liver.It reduced high blood pressure.It strengthens your immune system. Also high in fiber and antioxidants. Never a bad thing.

This is so simple, that once you've done it one time, you are going to want to fix a regular Pizza night It’s not vegan in that it contains eggs but you could adapt it with vegan egg mixes (you can find them on the internet).

Ingredients:1 large, firm cauliflower - this is enough for two pizza crusts as you can freeze the grated cauliflower for another day! Grate with the grating blade in a blender or simply blend unti you get a rice like crum. Grating is better but both work. Once you have your crum, pop half in a bag in the freezer. Turn the rest into a bowl. I recommend salting lightly and leaving for 10 minutes to draw off some water. The cauli crum wants to be as dry as possible. So after 10m give it a good squeeze with your hands and pour off any juice. Heat oven to 190° or gas mark 6.

Add to the cauli: 1 large or 2 small free-range organic egg whites, beaten 60 ground almonds 40g buckwheat flour (this is a staple of my larder) Freshly ground pepper 1/4 teasp of bicarb

Mix everything together and you should have a sticky 'dough'.

Spread out evently with your hands on a pizza plate or oven dish, preferably on non-sillicone baking parchment, lightly greased (it's easier to flip the pizza).

Bake in the oven for about 15 minutes then flip it over to brown the other side.

I turn the oven down to 170° to dry it out a bit so it can crisp up.

Keep an eye on it and take out when golden brown both sides but not too cooked at the edges. Now for the fun! Pizza, yey!

For toppings, the world is your oyster baby! Use your own tomato coulis, a quality store one, or omit the trad tomato topping and simply pile on your fav ingredients.

As a non meat eater, my favourites are a tomato coulis, and either plenty of seasonal vegetables, pan fried mushrooms, aubergine or pther veggie purée, and either some sardines in tomato sauce, stoned olives, herby pesto, crisp fried tofu or tempeh and then cheeeeeeze. This is where the comfort starts.

I don't eat cow dairy and stick to goat, sheep or vegan cheeze, but you can put on whatever flaots your boat.

Layer lavishly, return to oven with your personalised Plant Power Pizza and pop back in the oven for about 10 minutes. Sprinkle with fresh herbs if you have any and can wait that long. Enjoy and thrive!
