Kappa Symbols

Officially adopted in 1911, the Coat-ofArms is the traditional home of Kappa Kappa Gamma’s symbols. It represents many Kappa tenets, including truth, loyality, purity, generosity, and faithful service.

The official badge of membership is a golden key. It symbolizes unlocking the mysteries in science, literature and art.

The official flower is the fleur-de-lis, but it is often replaced by an iris because the fleur-de-lis in not an actual flower. It was chosen for its dignity and grace.

The official mascot is the owl, representing wisdom.

The offical jewel is the blue sapphire. The sapphire is recognized as a symbol of truth, sincerity, and constancy. The official colors are dark blue and light blue.
