Customer Care Team Spotlight

New Project Financing Options

We know our healthcare customers are facing challenges as their depleted post-COVID capital budgets are stretched even more thin by rising minimum wages and stagnant reimbursements. At the same time, technology for their communications, life safety and security systems are progressing faster than they can keep up.

As the clock ticks towards the end-of-life for EST 3 in 2026, TRL is offering viable solutions that align with our clients’ cash flow and operational needs. We’re pleased to offer our customers two new innovative financing options to meet the changing dynamics of the healthcare market.

TRL’s Total Coverage is a game-changing Technology as a Service (TaaS) package designed to provide our customers with a flexible, cost-effective alternative to traditional capital projects. Clients have the option to operationalize their system upgrades, hardware replacements, and enhancements through a lease or subscription agreement, which gives them the benefit of keeping up with leadingedge technology without a capital financial strain.

Our subscription model includes built-in service and support, ensuring peace of mind for our clients and minimizing downtime in the event of equipment failure. With flexible end-of-term options and the ability to refresh equipment mid-stream, our clients have unprecedented control over their technology investments, allowing them to adapt to changing needs and emerging innovations seamlessly.

Total Coverage includes Total Care, a service package that goes above and beyond traditional maintenance agreements. With features like ongoing technical and user training, system recertification, and solution replacement guarantees, we’re committed to providing our clients with the support they need to succeed.

Clients who prefer can choose our second option, a simple lease option for capital projects with a buyout at the end of the term.

We’re proud to be a trusted partner to our clients, helping them do more with less and navigate the complexities of our modern marketplace.

Finishing Strong!

The Ontario Warehouse Weight Loss Challenge

It all started when Trevor Matus (Warehouse Manager) and Noel Lacey (Inventory Controller) decided to shed some pesky pounds. Since they both enjoy a competitive challenge, they agreed to make it interesting. Their warehouse co-workers overhead and jumped on board faster than you can say “burpee.” The Warehouse Weight Loss Challenge was born!

The initiative kicked off on January 29, with the first official weigh-in on February 2. Every Friday, the team gathers around the warehouse scale to track their progress. What began as a friendly competition has evolved into a collective effort to support and challenge each other toward achieving their goals.

Beyond weight loss, the challenge has become a source of encouragement and mutual support. Colleagues share tips, recipes, and workout routines. The results of the weekly weigh-ins, prominently displayed on a whiteboard for all to see, serve as a visual reminder of their progress and commitment.

The results speak for themselves. Over the course of nearly three months, the Ontario warehouse crew collectively shed an impressive 59 pounds. But the true victory lies not just in the numbers but in the tangible improvements in energy levels, focus, and overall well-being. Trevor shares, “It’s not just about losing weight; it’s about gaining perspective on our health and lifestyle choices.”

The challenge has also had a ripple effect beyond the warehouse walls, with participants’ families joining in on the journey towards healthier living. From meal planning to grocery shopping, the habits formed at work have permeated their home lives, creating a ripple effect of positive change.

The group gathered for the last weigh-in on April 26, and the results were amazing! Together, they lost a total of 89.5 lbs! While Trevor lost the most weight, claiming the pot, everyone was a winner! With a new set of healthy habits, the Ontario warehouse crew finished strong.

TRL’s San Diego Team Together at Last Celebrating TRL’s Milestone Anniversaries

After over a year of working remotely, our San Diego staff is home. With everyone settled into their work areas, the atmosphere in the new San Diego office buzzes with camaraderie and productivity.

“We’re thrilled to be back in a physical office space,” says San Diego Fire General Manager Tony Torres. “Seeing each other daily fosters better collaboration and creates a more positive work environment overall.”

Branch Admin Supervisor Nichole Bloxham is overseeing the process of fully outfitting the office with furnishings and artwork. With furniture orders underway, the team eagerly anticipates the completion of their office transformation.

Despite the move, our San Diego colleagues didn’t miss a beat on their many projects. A few examples include an ongoing four-building bioscience project, new work at SeaWorld, projects at McAlister Institute and Mira Costa College and growing the Healthcare subscription and managed services client base. The team is making tremendous strides in building TRL’s presence in the San Diego market.

As they settle into their new surroundings, our San Diego colleagues look forward to the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead. With a strong foundation in place, TRL Systems San Diego is poised for continued success.

Several members of our TRL family reached milestone anniversaries in the first quarter of 2024. As we reflect on their years of service, we celebrate not only their professional accomplishments but also the enduring relationships they’ve built along the way. Join us in congratulating and applauding these remarkable individuals!

We’re all thankful we have Joe on our team and part of the TRL Family. Congrats to 15 years and many more!!!”

Pam Montgomery — 1/22/14

“Pam may be the most productive person who’s ever worked for me. The volume of tasks that she routinely manages is staggering. And she does it with a smile on her face. The timing of the upgrade to Solutions 360 was important—we had to wait until we were ready. There’s no way we could have waited if Pam wasn’t here. But, thanks to Pam, we could wait until we were prepared so it would go smoothly. She just puts her head down and gets it done. I don’t know what we would do without Pam. She’s amazing.”

“Patricia’s contribution to our team is invaluable. Starting as my admin, she swiftly evolved into a champion for our systems, constantly striving to elevate our performance. In January of this year, Amanda and nine other Los Angeles college students traveled to Taiwan to meet with Taiwanese government officials. The goal is to exchange best practices and ideas to improve our two countries and make the world a better place.

Robert Eddy (Security PM), popped the question to fiancée Lindsey while decorating the Christmas tree last December. Robert’s Mom was in on the plan! Her annual gift of an ornament had a special message this year — ”Will you marry me?” Best wishes to Robert and Lindsey!

Congratulations to Bryan Leahy (IT Project Manager) and his new wife, Kristen, who tied the knot on December 7 last year. Bryan’s son Cayden made a heartfelt speech at the ceremony expressing his happiness for his dad.

Anthony Avila (Security Foreman) and his wife Nicole welcomed a bouncing baby boy, Elias Murdoch Avila, on February 11. All of 6lbs, 10 oz, baby Elias is bringing great joy to the Avila family. Congratulations on your sweet boy!

Car enthusiast David Gray (HC SNR PM) is a member of the Retro Porsche Group (Plastic Speedster of So Cal) and attends twice-monthly car shows and rallies throughout Los Angeles, Orange and Ventura Counties. In addition to riding Harley Davidson Motorcycles, David finds that time with other car enthusiasts cuts stress and improves his driving skills. Recently, David placed in the top 5 on an open canyon road course. Not bad for an old guy! He’s waiting for TRL Systems to start a race team.

Sy Granillo’s (Healthcare Sales Manager) daughter, Maya Granillo, was selected by the USTA Competition Training Centers, which brings together the top 16 players from each geographic area to develop their skills at a high level and compete among their most talented peers. Players gain beneficial exposure to fitness training, education and sports science while practicing and competing with other CTC programs. Go, Maya!!

Crystal Jauregui (Service Lead Coordinator) officially became the owner of a Big Bear home on February 29, 2024. She and her husband immediately began renovations and after a few delays, thanks to the snow, are close to moving in. They’ll use it for weekend getaways, holidays and mini staycations.
