Grand Café Restaurant 1e Klas Experience the grandeur of the past at Grand Café Restaurant 1e Klas in Amsterdam – a hidden gem for the tourism and business sector. This surprising and historical restaurant, dating from 1885, is located on platform 2B in Amsterdam Central Station. The Central Station and the restaurant were designed by famous architect Pierre Cuypers, who also designed the Rijksmuseum. The old waiting rooms in Grand Café Restaurant 1e Klas were fully renovated and kept intact for the public to enjoy. Here you can still experience the charm of the past and the atmosphere of the Rijksmuseum. The British daily newspaper the Guardian ranked Grand Café Restaurant 1e Klas #1 on its list of the 10 Best Station Restaurants in Europe.

1e Klas and the 1e Klas Heineken Bar are freely accessible via their own entrance, so you do not need an OV-chipkaart. This recently restored, monumental entrance can be reached using the staircase to the right of the central hall in the station.
