The Process Step 1

Register your interest.

Contact Natalie via your preferred method to start the process.

You can contact her via the following platforms: Facebook & Instagram, Email or via the Website Contact Form.

We will get back to you as soon as possible so we can discuss your vision & see if she is the right photographer for you.

If you decide that she is, we can then move on to the next step & actually get you booked in for your photoshoot.

The Portrait Sessions are held either outdoor or in The Studio.

Step 2 At this point she will ask you to fill in a form about you and your pets. Dates, locations and times are discussed and confirmed here too.

This form is very important.

It gives us all of the information we need to create a tailored experience for you and your pets.

Step 3 Next, we will send over the contract and model release forms for you to sign and date upon receipt. Once this is returned as complete, we will then send an invoice for The Portrait Session. The session fee is £150, and comes with two free digital images as standard.

The Portrait Session.

We will meet at the chosen location, on the agreed date and time.

Gallery Delivery.

Each photography portrait session will end with 10-20 carefully selected and edited photos for you to view.

We will photograph at various suitable spots throughout your photoshoot.

We will get any specific shots you may have requested too.

We then part ways!

You will be able to view your gallery online or we can arrange an in person viewing and sales appointment dependant on availability and preference.

Step 7 Step 5 The Creative.

Now we have completed your photoshoot, Natalie will begin post processing.

Crafting your images to perfection.

She has her own signature style of editing and your images will reflect this style.

Lastly we will view the product guide where you can purchase anything you like.

Here we also discuss payment options. Upon completion of payment, we will then order and allow The Print Lab to handcraft your products. Once we have received them, we will then arrange collection or delivery.

The HellHerders At HellHerder Photography, Natalie fuses two of her greatest passions —photography and animals. As a devoted pet owner herself, with three beloved dogs—a Siberian Husky and two Belgian Malinois’, “The HellHerders”.

The bond Natalie shares with her own dogs inspired her to create a photography service that not only captures moments, but immortalises the essence of your pets.

Natalie understands the deep connection we all share with our pets, whether they are a loyal canine companion, a graceful feline or a majestic equine.

What happens during the portrait session?

You may not know what to expect if you have never had a bespoke, private photography portrait session. We promise the sessions are fun and relaxed, there is no pressure on you or your pets. On these next pages we have broken down what each type of session entails:

Canine & Feline Studio

Canine & Feline Outdoor

A studio photography session starts with your pet having the opportunity to toilet outside. Try to encourage this if possible.

The outdoor sessions start by meeting within the car park. Natalie will greet you and your pet, in a calm respectful manner and then begin to walk around the location.

Natalie will then greet your pet in a non threatening, calm manner and begin to introduce them to the lights in a positive and careful manner.

When we are confident that everyone is happy, the session will begin and Natalie will direct you, the dog and any additional parties on exactly what to do and when.

Your pet does not have to be perfectly behaved or trained. We know lots of tricks to help get what we need during your session. We want you all to leave feeling like you had a great experience with us!

Natalie will make sure your pet is comfortable around the camera and any equipment, once confident everyone is happy, the session will begin.

We will direct you and your pets on what to do and when. We can work with all temperaments and breeds.

Dogs look naked in photos, but they are usually on lead throughout the photoshoot.

Do not worry too much if your pets are not super obedient. We have ways to engage with them and ensure they have fun in the process.

Equine Studio & Outdoor Natalie has experience with horses from owning one previously and working professionally with them. You can trust she will never put you or your horse in a dangerous situation.

Equine shoots start with a walk so that tension cannot build, during this time Natalie will make sure your horse is acclimatised to her presence and her equipment. We will try not to keep the horses stood for long unless they are laid back. We will guide you on positioning so we can create some beautiful images.

Horses can be photographed in tack or headcollars. Alternatively we will have a photography halter, a unique thin rope halter that is very easy to edit out of final photographs. Please clean your tack prior to the photoshoot for the best results.

We ask that horses are turned out well to show standard- Plaits are not required.

Clean, neat and tidy is essential. We want them to look their absolute best.

If you would like to prepare, a square halt and turning tight circles in hand really helps with the poses we’ll be doing to get stunning portraits.

Family & Children

Children (Alone, family or with animals) For parents, try not to stress if they’re not posing perfectly. Children will be children and thats okay. In fact when they are naturally themselves, we find they make the best portraits because they show their true personality.

Try to keep sugar to a minimum so that we can get the very best from them.

Adults (Alone, family or with animals)Unless you have modelled before, this is probably really daunting. Having your photograph taken, is often quite uncomfortable and you’re left feeling like “what am i supposed to do” Please do not worry, we will guide you through different poses and help you look and feel amazing throughout.

Clothing wise, it is very important that you ensure you all wear neutral, simple clothes. Bright colours, large logos and intense patterns can spoil the portraits, taking the attention away from your faces. We want you to be the focus.

From the vibrant purple hues of lavender fields, enchanting bluebell meadows, and flourishing heather, to the lush greens of woodlands and forests, each setting offers a unique backdrop for your session.

Exploring the Peak District reveals aweinspiring vistas that add a touch of grandeur to your photographs.

Many of these locations transform with the seasons, while some are only available for a limited time. Choosing the perfect photoshoot location is an essential part of creating artwork that reflects your desired aesthetic and the beauty of nature.

Frequently Asked Questions: 1. Does my dog have to be off lead?

No, most of my clients dogs are on lead and their collars and leads are edited out in post production.

2. Does my dog have to be well trained?

No, your dog does not need to know any commands to have a photoshoot. It is easier if they know some commands like sit, stand, down, paws up, etc but it is not necessary.

3. Can my reactive dog have a photoshoot?

Yes!! Any dog can have a photoshoot, it does not matter their breed or temperament. I use a range of focal length lenses, meaning if your dog is reactive I can respect their space and photograph them from a distance.

4. What should my cat wear?

Your cat must wear a harness and be on lead, this is to keep them safe and secure throughout their photoshoot.

5. Can I have photos with my pet?

Yes, if you would like some photos together, I can certainly capture these for you! If you prefer not to be in the photos, this is entirely your choice!

6. Where do the photoshoots take place?

If you have booked a specific photoshoot like The Lavender Experience, these are held at specific locations. If you have booked The Portrait Session, these are mainly held around Leicestershire and it’s surrounding areas. Locations are discussed upon booking, if you have somewhere in mind then let me know!
