This is a stylish, disturbing, hyper-modern horror story about a fashion model haunted by a man accused of a horrific atrocity: a rape and murder that he livestreamed to his loyal followers. Kelly-Anne (Juliette Gariépy) attends his trial as a kind of superfan, and also as a hacker living in sterile luxury high above the city, breaking in and out of the online underworld she can’t tear herself away from. Not quite horror, but not quite horror either, this is a strange, yearning, deeply nostalgic indie film, a vivid tale of youthful alienation filled with horrifyingly beautiful and sometimes deeply disturbing images that you’ll find hard to escape.

How do you say "spider attack" in French? We declare it immediately this incredibly effective French horror film is set in a Brutalist housing estate in Paris and stars a group of awesomely energetic Zoomers, resourceful hoodie-wearers who find themselves surrounded by superhuman spiders. Zut alors! Set in rural Ireland, in an isolated house with a nearby mental asylum, this film is terrifying. The wife of a mental asylum doctor is visited at night by one of his patients, who desperately asks to be let in. Her choice of whether or not to open the door creates a crazy story that feels strange and fresh.

The easiest way is Zoe's MenoScale, an online feature that asks you a series of questions and then rates the severity of your symptoms on a scale of one to 100. You can then decide whether you should see your GP and discuss your options, which may include hormone replacement therapy. What makes a horror movie a cult horror movie? In a nutshell: rewatchability. And with Halloween just around the corner, the question of which scary, shocking, silly, classic, or spooky horror movies to hit replay (and again) has never been more relevant. Of course, at Vogue, we'll award extra cult horror points if a film can hold its own. Dario Argento's Suspiria has inspired everyone from Nicolas Ghesquière to the Rodarte sisters; Yves Saint Laurent designed Catherine Deneuve's costumes for the gory romance The Hunger; and Eiko Ishioka's Japanese-influenced creations for Bram Stoker's Dracula are as striking as they were in the '90s. Below, Vogue rounds up 40 of our favorite horror films, from the very new to some tried-and-true (and notably stylish) classics.
