There was a very, very strong reaction to Hetty and Trevor getting together, which really surprised me. I like that feeling a little bit challenged by that. It's a May-December romance - I'm not just an older woman; I am 150 years old. Lots of fans, they want Hetty to grow; They want her to change. They want her to be empowered; they want her sexually aroused. But they weren't sure if they wanted her to date a young man. A lot of them have changed their minds and I think they're finally supporting this character's growth and happiness. But the feeling of being really invested in us and in these characters is truly amazing.

There needs to be a fair deal. And, I think, that is symbolic of some of the larger problems in society, if I may be so bold. There's such a great love that has come, and creativity and community fan art, this feeling...We've received some really meaningful announcements. from fans about being able to have family chats they couldn't have. Delicate conversations . may discuss death in a certain way or grieve a loved one in some way. Again, this is a light-hearted comedy, but it has the potential to incite conversation and community. That feels really, really rewarding.
