Charity Cycle Challenge By signing up to take part in our cycling challenge, you’re helping our crews save lives across Devon and beyond.

The £100 fundraising target set for each participant isn’t just a symbolic amount.

It genuinely helps to fund essential lifesaving kit, for our crew to carry. For example, if you raise £100 you will have covered the cost of equipping our crew with circa 100 doses of Tranexamic Acid (TXA), which aids vital clotting for patients with traumatic bleeds. TXA is often the difference between life and death in these situations, and at roughly £1 a dose, your fundraising will save so many lives.

By exceeding your £100 target, you’ll be helping to fund advanced pieces of kit, such as airway management equipment, trauma dressings and patient monitors, all of which support patients at the most critical moments.

Your fundraising makes a real and immediate difference, and reminds us that as a local charity, with the support of our Devon community, we are able to keep responding, keep caring, and keep saving lives.

Other Information VEHICLE SUPPORT At strategic points we have the security of our support vehicle. You will be able to leave extra layers / spare kit etc. here during the day, and you will also be able to stock up on water, snacks and energy products should you need a boost.

EQUIPMENT It is essential that you ride a road bike that is in good mechanical order, if you are not mechanically minded we advise you to take your bike to a local bicycle dealer for a service. Our ride leaders will of course be carrying a tool kit and a selection of spares, which we will provide should the need arise, but please be sure to carry your own basic tool kit, pump, spare tubes (particularly important if your wheels require extra-long valves), and any specific spare parts you may require for your bike.

Other Information INSURANCE Although not compulsory, it is highly recommended to have a personal accident insurance policy when attending a Just Pedal cycling event.

We also recommend that your bike should be fully covered by some form of insurance policy.
