YOU AND ME – a truly social intranet Digitization has been bringing changes to collaboration and communication within companies. Deutsche Telekom’s platform you and me builds on these cultural changes, in ways that will make it a more agile company. This is why in October 2015 it merged the former intranet and its “Telekom Social Network” under the lead of Corporate Communications and IT. The result was the social intranet you and me with its individualized starting page. The content of this starting page is chosen only partly by the editorial team of Corporate Communications. Additional content is system-selected in accordance with individual-employee interests and usage patterns – meaning each user sees content personalized specifically for him or her. you and me is now the company's central platform for information provision, discussion and online collaboration, across all company areas and hierarchy levels. It thus serves as a prime example of efforts to harness digitization to the task of offering employees greater opportunity for participation. On you and me, any user can be an author. Any user can introduce topics, and any user can make himself/herself seen and heard. This is bringing a new dimension to employee communication, by making communication faster, more direct and more authentic.

IT IS THE HEARTBEAT OF THE COMPANY. The numbers underline that. Within six months, daily registrations have risen by more than 50 percent. In June 2016, over 108,000 registered users were counted, with over 20% of them located outside of Germany. More than 14,000 groups have been formed, and more than 4.5 million visits were tallied from January to April 2016.
