Seasons change, and so do we.

This past year has been one of tremendous growth for Heitz Cellar. First and foremost, we welcomed a new member of the Heitz family. Brittany Sherwood, our Director of Winemaking, and her husband, Tom, celebrated the birth of their first child, Dorothy Fay Sherwood. Brittany has been the heart of this great Estate for over a decade now, and we could not be more excited for her family and the next chapter of their lives. As we all know, family is everything.

With a new vision for hospitality, we welcomed guests back to the Salon at Heitz Cellar, the first property Joe and Alice acquired many years ago. The reception from guests and the community has been nothing short of spectacular. It has invigorated us to begin a renovation of the Estate at Heitz Cellar, to which we hope to welcome guests back soon.

This year, we have also seen a transformation in the vineyard; as of January 2021, I am proud to report that all our estate vineyards are now certified biodynamic. This has been many years in the making as we continue to carry on the vision that began in 1961, of making elegant and balanced wines that are true to the terroir from which they come.
