Since 1994 Joerg Heitsch runs his gallery in Munich to feature international contemporary art. With the opening of Joerg Heitsch Gallery GmbH at the Lake Tegernsee with a sculpture garden in 2013 the focus on figurative and abstract painting was opened towards contemporary sculpture. The gallery intends to promote primarily young talents who reflect on modern issues and redefine art history in order to give them a chance to enter prominent private and public collections.

Seit 1994 betreibt Joerg Heitsch die Galerie für internationale zeitgenössische Kunst in München am Gärtnerplatz mit der Entwicklung und Umsetzung von Kulturkonzepten an der Schnittstelle von Kunst, Kommunikation & Markt. Mit der Eröffnung einer Dependance am Tegernsee mit Skulpturengarten im Herbst 2013 wurde der Fokus von figurativer und abstrakter Malerei auf die zeitgenössische Bildhauerei ausgeweitet.

Das besondere Engagement der Galerie gilt zeitgenössischen Künstlern, die moderne Inhalte vermitteln und die die Kunstgeschichte neu ausloten.

Desde 1994 Joerg Heitsch está a cargo de su galería en Múnich para dar a conocer artistas contemporáneos internacionales. Con la apertura de Joerg Heitsch Gallery GmbH en el lago de Tegernsee con un jardín repleto de esculturas en el año 2013, el repertorio característico de la galerá con pintura figurativa y la pintura abstracta, abrió camino a la escultura. La galería tiene como objetivo promover jóvenes talentos que reflejan temáticas de interés actuales, como una redefinición de la historia del arte, buscando darle una oportunidad a los artistas de entrar en colecciones privadas y públicas internacionales.

NEW MASTERS is a brand-new exhibition concept for art and intercultural communication on a global level. Emerging and cutting-edge artists whose art is deeply rooted in art history present their artworks in dialog with the Old and Modern Masters. The exhibiting artists originate from a variety of countries and were selected by curator Joerg Heitsch.

Aufstrebende und bereits etablierte Künstler, deren Kunst tief in der traditionellen Kunstgeschichte verwurzelt ist, präsentieren ihre Kunstwerke im Dialog zu den Alten Meistern und den großen Namen der Moderne. Die vertretenen Künstler stammen aus einer Vielzahl von Ländern und wurden vom Münchner Kurator Joerg Heitsch ausgewählt.

Yoshiyuki Miura’s works may be considered a systematizing regulation to the omnipresent chaos. With his sculptures and installations the Japanese artist reflects on the relation of space and time. He leads force and counterforce in order to bring them into a balanced state of tension and release. Miura creates objects which play with our perception of three-dimensionality and intrigue us by their extraordinary simplicity, precision and beauty.

Yoshiyuki Miuras Werke lassen sich als ordnender Eingriff in das allgegenwärtige Chaos begreifen. In seinen Skulpturen und Rauminstallationen reflektiert der japanische Künstler das Verhältnis von Raum und Zeit. Er lotet Kraft und Gegenkraft aus und bringt sie in einen harmonischen Zustand von Spannung und Ausgleich. Miura kreiert Objekte, die sich durch eine außergewöhnliche Ästhetik, Einfachheit und Präzision auszeichnen und die mit der Wahrnehmung von Dreidimensionalität spielen.

Las obras del artista japonés Yoshiyuki Miura se pueden considerar como un intento de de regulación sistemática de la omnipresencia del caos. Con sus esculturas e instalaciones el artista refleja la continua relación entre espacio y tiempo. Él contrapone elementos opuestos en tensión guiándolos a un estado perfecto de equilibrio.

De esa forma, Miura crea objetos que juegan con nuestra percepción de lo tridimensional y maravilla al público con la relativa simpleza e inconfundible belleza y precisión de sus obras.

Antonio Marra’s abstract works are truly fascinating due to their surprising change of form and colour. Each of his multi-perspective paintings contains several other pictures which reveal themselves by circling around the canvas. Step by step the spectator is drawn into a vivid and dynamic kaleidoscope of shape and color. Marra’s art is a surprising experience of unique visual and dimensional effects. The painter has come to his very own style reflecting and redefining the techniques of Op-art and Orphism.

Antonio Marras abstrakte Arbeiten üben durch ihren verblüffenden Wandel von Form und Farbe eine außergewöhnliche Faszination aus. Jedes seiner multi-perspektivischen Gemälde enthält stets mehrere Bilder, die sich als ein lebendiges, bewegtes Kaleidoskop mit jedem Schritt verändern. Marras Kunst wird zum überraschenden Erlebnis, indem sie uns einzigartige visuelle und räumliche Effekte erfahren lässt. Der Maler hat zu einem ganz eigenen Stil gefunden, der die Techniken von Op-Art und Orphismus reflektiert und durch neue Varianten erweitert.

Los cuadros abstractos de Antonio Marra conquistan por su fascinante ilusión óptica, que sorprende por el cambio de color y forma que suscitan sus obras. Cada obra con su multitud de perspectivas contiene a su vez más de un motivo abstracto, que se revela en el momento que el espectador se mueve paralelamente delante del cuadro, ofreciendo distintas e infinitas visiones del mismo lienzo.

Así el espectador es atraído en un caleidoscopio vivo repleto de colores. El arte de Antonio Marra está repleto de sorpresas visuales y efectos espectaculares. El artista ha llegado a crear su propio estilo artístico redefiniendo las técnicas de los artistas del Op-art y el orfismo.

Angela Glajcar (DE)

Angela Glajcar’s paper sculptures are hanging or floating in the air. Even though they seem light and delicate, they show a strong sculptural presence.

Terforation is the title of Angela Glajcar’s cubic pieces. The staggered arrangement of the vertically hung series of sheets of white paper with torn edges, produces cave-like recessions. These extend into the depth of the sculpture.

The sharp ridges and deep caverns evoke associations with glacial or rock formations while light and shadow fall onto the surface of the sheets, enlivening the interior of the oblong structure. The viewer is led into fascinating rooms of harmony and silence.

Angela Glajcar verbindet Gegensätze. Ihre Papierskulpturen schweben frei im Raum oder bilden massive Blöcke. Sie wirken vom Material her leicht und zart, zeigen aber eine starke skulpturale Präsenz. Terforation nennt Angela Glajcar die Kuben aus weißen Papieren. Ihre streng geometrische Form wird aufgebrochen durch gerissene Kanten oder verschieden große Öffnungen.

Durch die Staffelung der Papiere entstehen Hohlräume von einer enormen räumlichen Tiefe. Licht und Schatten machen diese lebendig. Assoziationen an gezackte Grate und das Innere tiefer Höhlen, an Gletscher- oder Felsformationen werden geweckt. Der Betrachter taucht ein in faszinierende Räume von vollkommener Harmonie und Ruhe.

Las esculturas de papel de Angela Glajcar normalmente cuelgan del techo y flotan en el aire. Parecen delicadas y ligeras, pero sin embargo tienen una presencia extremadamente pesada. Terforation tiene el título de sus obras cúbicas. Las obras compuestas por distintas capas verticales de papel blanco colgantes, con cortes y roturas produce una sensación escenográfica de profundidad, como si se tratase de una cueva. Sus obras nos recuerdan a formaciones rocosas o glaciares, que en conjunto con la luz es capaz de desarrollar distintas estructuras. Así, el espectador es transportado a fascinantes espacios cargados de harmonía y silencio.

Dirk Salz (DE) EN

Dirk Salz works on paintings whose most striking feature is their high-gloss surface.

These are the result of the usage of multi-layered epoxy resins coated with pigments and the sealing with polyurethane varnish. The images of Dirk Salz always aim at the experience of the temporality of seeing. They demand an active viewer, who takes the time to move back and forth, in front the initially closing works, in order to open up their complexity. Thus, the phenomenon of reflection in an integral part of Salz’s works: optically as the mirroring property of the picture surfaces, as a reflection-aesthetic as the reflection of the viewer on his own visual experience.

Dirk Salz arbeitet an Gemälden, deren auffälligstes Merkmal ihre hochglänzenden Oberflächen sind. Diese kommen durch den Einsatz mehrschichtig aufgetragener, mit Pigmenten versehener Epoxidharze und die Versiegelung mit Polyurethanlack zustande. Die Bilder von Dirk Salz zielen immer auf die Erfahrung der Zeitlichkeit des Sehens. Sie fordern einen aktiven Betrachter, der sich die Zeit nimmt, sich vor den sich zunächst verschließenden Arbeiten hin und her, vor und zurück zu bewegen, den Blick jeweils neu zu fokussieren, um sich so langsam ihre Komplexität zu erschließen. Reflektion ist bei diesen Arbeiten also in zweierlei Form im Spiel: optisch als die Spiegelungseigenschaft der Bildoberflächen, rezeptionsästhetisch als die Reflexion des Betrachters auf seine eigene Seherfahrung.

Los trabajos pictóricos de Dirk Salz son sobre todo reconocibles por el acabado en brillo que reciben sus obras. Estos son el resultado del uso de resina epoxi cubierto por pigmentos y el uso de barniz de poliuterano. Las imágenes de Dirk Salz siempre buscan captar las experiencia temporal de la propia visión. Demandan de esa forma un espectador activo, que se tome su tiempo para poder vislumbrar las obras desde todas las perspectivas posibles, para que su complejidad se pueda ir aclarando paulatinamente. El reflejo de uno mismo en su obra representa una parte importante, ya que no sólo es un reflejo físico, ya que nos vemos reflejados, si no que el espectador ve reflejado su propia acción de espectador, viéndose como parte de la obra.

Christiane Grimm (DE)

Christiane Grimm’s artworks are composed out of different glass panels and other reflective materials, which are arranged in such a manner that the light is refracted, thus, creating an pictorial world that absorbs the spectator.

Grimm’s artwoks posses a poetic quality, they are illusionistic architectures made up out of luminous planes which are seemingly floating. It is nearly impossible to locate the different surfaces within the room.

Moreover, optical illusions dampen the viewer’s spatial perception and create an open field between painting, plastic and architecture.

Christiane Grimm gestaltet ihre Bildobjekte meist als Räume aus verschiedenen Gläsern und Materialien, die sie so anordnet, dass die Durchbrechung des einen durch das andere eine kalkulierte und zugleich vitale Bildwelt erzeugt. Es sind poetische Gebilde und Scheinarchitekturen aus lichten, schwebenden Flächen – unbunt oder farbig. Die Anordnung der einzelnen Elemente unterwandert jeden Versuch einer eindeutigen perspektivischen Zuordnung. Zusätzlich irritieren optische Effekte die räumliche Wahrnehmung und kreieren ein offenes Feld zwischen Malerei, Plastik und Architektur.

Christiane Grimm diseña sus artefactos la mayoría de las veces como espacios construidos con distintos tipos de cristales y materiales, ordenándolo de tal forma, que genera una composición única calculada y a la vez vital. Son composiciones prácticamente líricas con inspiraciones arquitectónicas hechas de luz y superficies flotantes. Estas composiciones de los elementos intenta romper la perspectiva en múltiples posibles puntos de fuga. De esa forma se crean vibrantes efectos ópticos del espacio creado, dando lugar a un nuevo estilo artístico que combina pintura, instalación y arquitectura.

Roland Helmer (DE) EN

Since the 1960s, Roland Helmer develops his constructive and concrete works with the utmost consequence. His abstract-geometric early works shows clear forms, quiet areas and are limited to a maximum of 7 or 8 bright colors. The variety of shapes is reduced in later work on narrow and wide lines in a vertical and horizontal screen layout. The color palette expands on certain issues by blends and underpainting with white and black. In painting concrete and constructive, he is one of those painters who bring a personal picture as part of an imaging system.

Seit den 60er Jahren entwickelt Roland Helmer seine konstruktiv- konkreten Arbeiten mit größter Konsequenz. Sein abstraktgeometrisches Frühwerk zeigt klare Formen, ruhige Flächen und beschränkt sich auf maximal 7 oder 8 leuchtende Farben. Die Formenvielfalt reduziert sich im Spätwerk auf schmale und breite Linien in einem senkrechten und waagrechten Bildaufbau. Die Farbpalette erweitert sich bei bestimmten Themen durch Abmischungen und Untermalungen mit Weiß und Schwarz.

Desde los años sesenta desarrolla Roland Helmer sus obras constructivas y concretas. Sus primeras obras geométricas abstractas representan claras formas, áreas extensas y se limita al uso de un máximo de siete u ocho colores vivos. Conforme va pasando el tiempo el artista sus formas se reducen a diseños a lineas de distintos grosores, ya sea dispuestas de forma horizontal o vertical. La paleta de colores, sin embago, se expande por medio de la superposición del color blanco o negro. Como pintor constructivista, es uno de esos artistas que es capaz de construir una visión personal dentro de un mundo completamente geométrico.

Marco Casentini (IT) EN

Marco Casentini’s works explore the spatial dynamics of color, texture and shape. He is inspired by designs of urban spaces and reflects on geometrical and architectural questions. By decoding environments and urban structures that he perceives immediately, he deconstructs and interprets designs of architects, engineers and town planners. Casentini´s use of radiant, bright or strong colors is stimulated by southern Californian or Mexican paintings of houses and dematerializes their architectural surfaces.

Marco Casentini erkundet in seinen Arbeiten räumliche Dynamiken von Farbe, Textur und Form. Seine von der Gestaltung des städtischen Raumes inspirierten Werke spiegeln sein Interesse an Geometrie sowie Architektur und eröffnen dem Betrachter mit ihrer leuchtenden, hellen Farbpalette die Stimmung der lebendigen Häuseranstriche Südkaliforniens und Mexikos. Er dekodiert die architektonischen Oberflächen und das, was er unmittelbar wahrnimmt – das kann zum Beispiel eine Achterbahn sein –, indem er die Entwürfe von Architekten, Ingenieuren und Stadtplanern dekonstruiert und neu interpretiert. Monochromatische Werke, die Casentini aus seinen europäischen Erfahrungen generiert, weisen dunklere Farben mit ihren Variationen im Farbton auf.

Marco Casentini explora en su trabajo distintas dinámicas espacios de color, textura y forma. Él se deja inspirar por diseños urbanísticos y dejándose ver en sus obras su interés por la geometría y la arquitectura. El artista de esa forma codifica distintos ambientes y estructuras urbanas que se van desmaterializando y deconstruyendo en su obra a forma de distintos espacios planos repletos de color. Sus obras se ven intensamente influenciadas por artistas californianos o la pintura mejicana.

Rudolf Burda (CZ)

Rudolf Burda was born in 1973 in the industrial city of Mladá Boleslav in the center of Europe, in the Czech Republic. During the years 1987 -1991 Rudolf Burda studied at the School of Applied Arts in Turnov (Czech Republic) major of artistic blacksmithing. In 1992 until 1993 he was interned in California, USA, and then founded his art studio back in the Czech Republic. In 2010, he was fascinated by glass and since then is professionally engaged in the creation of glass objects and sculptures.

Rudolf Burda wurde 1973 in der tschechischen Industriestadt Mladá Boleslav, im Herzen Europas geboren. Von 1987 - 1991 studierte Rudolf Burda an der Hochschule für Angewandte Kunst in Turnov im Hauptfach Schmiedekunst. Von 1992 bis 1993 absolvierte er ein Praktikum in Kalifornien und eröffnete anschließend sein eigenes Atelier zuhause in Tschechien. 2010 entdeckte er seine Faszination für Glas und fertigt seitdem mundgeblasene Glasobjekte und Skulpturen.

Rudolf Burda nació en 1973 en la ciudad industrial checa Mladá Boleslav, en el centro de Europa. De 1987 a 1991 estudió Rudolf Burda en la academia de arte de Turnov teniendo como especialidad en trabajo en metal. De 1992 a 1993 termino sus estudios con unas practicas en California y termino abriendo su propio atelier en casa, en la Republica Checa. En el año 2010 descubrió Burda su fascinación por el vidrio y desde ese momento trabajo solamente con objetos en vidrio soplados.

Herbert Mehler (DE) EN

Herbert Mehler’s steel sculptures embody archaic shapes from nature and geometry which may be associated with organic forms of plants and buds. „I am convinced that everyone of us has incorporated a set of basic patterns which affect the human perception.“ The sculptor intertwines organic and tectonic principles - the folded surfaces of his objects remind us of tree bark as well as classical Greek columns. Mehler’s curvelinear objects bend and turn suggesting energetic impetus as a metaphor for organic growth and vitality.

Herbert Mehlers amorphe Stahlskulpturen verweisen auf archaische Urformen der Natur und Geometrie. Assoziationen an Pflanzen, Blüten und Knospen werden wach. „Ich glaube, jeder trägt einen Kanon der Urformen in sich, die kulturübergreifend in der menschlichen Wahrnehmung verankert sind“, so Mehler. Der Künstler verbindet Organisches mit Tektonischem – so erinnert allein die lamellenhafte Oberfläche seiner Objekte an Baumrinde, aber auch an antike Säulen. Sanfte Schwünge dynamisieren die Skulpturen und laden sie energetisch auf. Als eine Metapher auf organische Wachtumsprozesse und die Energie des Lebens laden Mehlers harmonische, formschöne Skulpturen zu meditativer Ruhe und Kontemplation ein.

Las esculturas de acero del artista alemán Herbert Mehler acogen formas arcaicas de la naturaleza y geometría, las cuales pueden ser asociadas con formas orgánicas como plantas y distintos frutos. „Estoy convencido de que todos llevamos incorporados un grupo de patrones y formas básicas en nuestro interior que afectan a la propia percepción humana“ El escultor une de esa forma principios orgánicos y tectónicos – las distintas superficies que el autor genera nos recuerda a las formas de las copas de los arboles pero al mismo tiempo a columnas griegas. Las objetos curvilíneos de Mehler sugieren formas de ímpetu energético como metáfora del crecimiento orgánico y la vitalidad.

Moto Waganari (DE)

Lutz Wagner aka Moto Waganari creates transparent network-sculptures which outline a delicate body frame. By illuminating his sculptures the artists multiplies his three-dimensional objects by a two-dimensional shadow revealing the immaterial alter ego of every figure. His characters seem to visualize a surreal, parallel world filled with surprise and enigma. Moto Waganari’s sculptures seduce the spectator with their appealing beauty and sophisticated weightlessness.

Lutz Wagner aka Moto Waganari entwirft transparente Gitternetz-Skulpturen, die sich als schwerelose Körperhüllen vor dem Auge des Betrachters abzeichnen. Inszeniert als Lichtinstallationen werden die dreidimensionalen Figuren um ein zweidimensionales Schattenbild erweitert und erhalten ein immaterielles Alter Ego. Marcus Jansen is considered a pioneer in the “urban” form of expressionism. He started doing art in the early 1980s in Germany during an ongoing graffiti art movement from New York City after being introduced to graffiti artist WEST ONE. Jansen was raised bilingual by a father from Germany and Mother from the West Indies and was educated in Germany. In the late 1990’s he managed to merge his own history, political/social commentary and background from the worlds he grew up in and from what was called “graffiti” to crossover of contemporary expressionism or neo-expressionism in paintings by the likes of Robert Rauschenberg and

Jean-Michel Basquiat.

Rapid changes between divisions, genres, backgrounds and contexts are part of Jim Avignon’s artistic strategy. He was never interested in the rules of the art market, only when it was necessary to break or to drive ironic games with them. Avignon likes to use cheap material and shredding sometimes his own works, in order to give away afterwards the relics to documenta visitors. His fantastical, pop images with large areas of color and clear black lines are genre paintings of the modern era.

Roman Klonek is known to be one of the leading artists in the German Graphic Art scene. As a student he worked on his first wood cut and can‘t get off it ever since. His humorous prints depict colourful, imaginary landscapes filled with bizarre characters. Exotic letterings all over the image arouse even more questions instead of helping us to decipher the unusual scenes. By now Klonek has created his very own fancyful cosmos of odd creatures all being inspired by the Eastern European cartoons of his childhood.

Roman Klonek repräsentiert in der zeitgenössischen Kunstszene, die von der Vielfalt der digitalen Möglichkeiten stark beeinflußt ist, als einer der herausragendsten Künstler die traditionelle Drucktechnik „Holzschnitt“. Betrachtet man Kloneks Werk, erkennt man rasch seine Vorliebe für sehr reduzierte Formen und oft tierähnliche Wesen, die zuweilen an die Geburtsstunde des Comics erinnern.

Die Charaktere, die Kloneks Welt bevölkern, sind alles andere als Superhelden. Vielmehr könnte man sie als Versuchskaninchen bezeichnen, die im Labor des Zeichners auf ihre Bestimmung warten. Dieser hält die Fäden in der Hand, stellt seinen Protagonisten Fallen, legt Fettnäpfchen aus und beobachtet dann, gemeinsam mit dem Betrachter, was wohl passiert.

Roman Klonek es conocido por liderar el movimiento del arte gráfico alemán. Cuando era estudiante de la academia de bellas artes descubrió su primera xilografía. Sus impresiones tienen siempre un carácter humorístico repletos de color y paisajes fantásticos llenos de personajes bizarros. Letreros exóticos llenan las obras de Klonek, abriendo más preguntas que respuestas y haciéndonos la tarea más difícil de descifrar el sentido de la obra. Por el momento Klonek ha creado su propio cosmos personal de criaturas extrañas inspiradas en primera línea por los primeros dibujos animados americanos de su infancia.
