INTRODUCTION As Dong Guan in PRC faces the challenge of housing shortage Particularly for those young adults and the transformation of industrial spaces to residential and commercial spaces, what are the ways in which design and planning of architecture could help ease or alleviate this problem? Could inventive adaptation of conditions and creative arrangement of the collective housing provide a part of the solution? The two week design competition calls for innovative ideas in the design of a micro start-up housing. Dong Guan Urban to explore the boundaries and paradigms of collective housing and to (re)consider the relationship between a basic housing program, the needs of youths today and the high-density housing policy of Dong Guan.

A fusion of industrial & Modern aesthetics Heritage, Conversion
Inspired from the site surroundings, we would like to conserve some features of the industrial environment, and by redesigning with modern approach to attract youngsters to live in, to transform an old industrial area into an energetic, young community. Besides providing a better living environment, we also focused on encouraging youngsters entrepreneurship and improve working atmosphere. In order to increase the communication and cooperating experience for young people, we have broken the concept of traditional office, and transform into a living office. Furthermore, they can showcase their work in the exhibition area, this can not just increase their fame but also creating an healthy competing atmosphere between them.
由於時下年青人比以前更着重生活品質，因此提升生活質素，是這個項目當中十分重要的 一環，受啟發當地的工業區環境，我們希望保留區內特色同時，亦能夠加入新的設計元素 ，改善環境以吸引年輕人入住該區，希望最終能夠把以往的環境(產業)的優良元素轉化成充 滿活力的社區 而除了提供優質的居住環境外，我們更重視鼓勵青年創業以及營造舒適的工作 環境：為鼓勵青年之間增加交流和合作機會，我們把傳統工作空間的概念打破，重新塑造 出一個開放式的工作環境;並給予他們機會把合作建立的作品放在展覽區內展出，不但可以 增加知名度亦鼓勵彼此之間的良性競爭，互相學習 *東城街道黨委書記鄧濤和有關班子領導，街道相關部門負責人，東實集團安居公司、万科 寓驛公司、東莞匯建建築公司等企業領導嘉賓，以及香港中文大學、香港大學進修學院師 生等參加了交流活動。

MATERIALS Brushed copper are used heavily in the room interior, keeping the original window frame structure of the PMQ, the ground and the articulations. The interior frame structure are using the electroplated black metal as material, and white marble as the platforms and tables.

THE FLOATING CUBICLE
There are a large mirror installed below the lifted shower cubicle, this create the illusion of a flying cubicle when people walks by, as the bottom of the tank are made by glass, people will experience the floating effect also when bathing.
