LETTER FROM THE CO-FOUNDER As I reflect on this past year, I am overwhelmed with gratitude for the Gallagher community. Coming together for the first Gallagher Global Leadership Summit in Vienna was a highlight of my lifetime. It was Jerry's dream to bring all the Scholar’s together in one location, and seeing his dream come to life was really special. Between the global connections made amongst Scholars, the countless stories shared by Scholars Leading Where You Are, and the energy on the dance floor, it is clear Gallagher Scholars are making an impact in the world. GALLAGHER CORE VALUES: COMMUNITY Celebrating the Gallagher COMMUNITY in Turkey It is with much sadness that we announce a change to our program in Turkey. The changes in the political structure of Turkey over the past several years no longer align with the values of the Gallagher Foundation, and we regret that the Gallagher Foundation in Turkey will no longer be selecting new Scholars. Our final cohort will be graduating in 2024.
While this decision brings about a sense of disappointment, we would like to take this opportunity to celebrate our amazing Turkish community that has grown throughout the years. Let's celebrate the friendships and connections that have been made, experiences shared, and the personal development that each Scholar gained while in the program. The Foundation will continue to invest in and build the Turkish graduate community. The Global Leadership Summit in 2023 proved that we are no longer just country-specific programs but a global community that will continue to support each other for many years to come.

We would like to celebrate Elvan Zihnioğlu, who has served as our Country Director for over 15 years in Turkey. Elvan provided steadfast support to our Scholars throughout the years. Her commitment to our mission played a pivotal role in shaping the success of our program in Turkey. Elvan has taken on a new position at Hisar Eğitim Vakfı as their General Manager. Congratulations Elvan! We wish you the best of luck in your new role. Thank you for your incredible commitment to our Scholars and Foundation.

GALLAGHER CORE VALUES: IMPACT Gallagher Scholars making an IMPACT Dr. Lethabo Machaba-Simelani (South Africa 2002) is a Paediatric Specialist at Netcare Sunninghill Hospital, where she works in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NNICU), paediatric wards and provides an outpatient service. She is the CEO and Founder of a thriving medical practice and has earned influencer status through her work educating parents on social media platforms and overseeing multiple digital and social media campaigns with many cooperates. Lethabo is a passionate entrepreneur: Founder and CEO of the Dr L Machaba Foundation which focuses on projects concerning disadvantaged mothers and children. Author of the book Secrets of Super Powered Moms which she produced into a 13-episode TV show in 2023, on TBN Africa on DSTV. Founder of The Business Side of Medicine: BSOM, educational and networking workshops for health care professionals on the business of medicine. Awarded a seat on the South African Health Business Academy, where she served as a faculty member and co-convenor. Co-director and Co-Founder of the African Female Paediatric Network, an academic mentorship programme for paediatricians in South Africa. Lethabo considers her greatest achievements loving God, mothering her 3 beautiful children and being married to Mr. Summer Simelani. Her passion to Lead where you are and uplift others as you rise, has seen her use her talents to impact many mothers, children and other medical professionals in her community. We look forward to seeing the impact Lethabo and all of our Scholars will continue to make in their communities.
