Web Hosting Service Providers : The Basics When starting your online business, having your own domain name and a web hosting service are two things that are most crucial to your success.

This is because having your own domain name will allow you to 'brand' your product or service, and having a good hosting company will provide you with a space to put that domain name and the website you build around it.

A web hosting service can be likened to a big storage facility where anyone can rent one (or more) storage units. You will need pay a monthly fee and will have varying degrees of access to your storage space. The company renting out the storage buildings will take care of all the maintenance and service, and all you just have to watch out for your particular storage unit.

There are many companies that can provide you with an online 'storage space' where you can 'place' your website. You will be renting a portion of their server, or a whole server depending on your needs. You will then need to pay a monthly fee and they will take care of making sure that their servers are up and working 24/7.

The major web hosting companies, such as GoDaddy and HostGator, offer a wide range of packages to suit virtually every online business need. For many people a simple shared hosting plan (where you rent a portion of a server) that will allow them to host unlimited websites (as long as none of them require a lot of bandwidth) is more than enough. However, if you are building a niche website empire, you might want to consider a dedicated hosting account where you can rent a whole server from your hosting company. By going this route, you will have more control and a lot more bandwidth.

Another option you can consider is a reseller account. This is an option where you pay to rent a block of the servers. You can sub-divide that block into smaller units and then rent those out. The hosting company will still handle all the maintenance required as well as customer service.

When choosing a hosting company, be sure to get one that guarantees 99% up time. This is to ensure that you don’t lose money if your server goes down due to customers not being able to get to your website.

Great customer service is another thing that you would want to consider. You will want to be able to reach someone 24/7, particularly if you have a problem or a question during the odd hours of the day.

Most companies are quite inexpensive and if you pay a year, or more, ahead of time, your actual cost can go as low as $3 or $4 a month depending on your plan.

If you don't prepay and opt for a monthly payment plan, you can expect to pay around $10 a month for a shared hosting plan which will still allow you unlimited websites. You may have some bandwidth restrictions with this type of plan, but unless you are getting millions of hits everyday, you shouldn't have to worry too much.

As your online niche website empire grows, you then might want to consider getting a dedicated hosting account so you can have more flexibility in terms of bandwidth, as well as other additional functions.

Social Media Marketing Video: 5 Tips to Success

Getting website visitors is your main job when building an online business. With the internet there is no such thing as being stagnant. Things are always changing, improving and evolving. Combining both video and social media will really help you get a leg up on the competition. Using social media marketing video is great, but how do you do it?

Here are a few basic concepts to keep in mind when you are planning and implementing your strategy: 1. The videos you make have to be high quality - but what does that mean? Well, it doesn't mean that you have to hire actors or pay thousands of dollars for state of the art effects. What it really means is that the audio and video are clear, and that the information is presented in an easy to understand format.

2. Keep your videos fairly short. The average is less than 5 minutes. If you are making an education video , you don't have to adhere quite so strictly to this rule.

3. Make an outline of the points you want to cover before you start recording audio for your video. The last thing you want to do is be a stammering mess. If you listen to your video and you find the word that is spoken the most often is 'um' you really should go back and re-do it. It may be a hassle, but if your video is filled with pauses or stuttering, people will lose patience and will move on to other things. If no one watches your video, you would have wasted your time anyway. Do it right or don't do it at all.

4. Remember that success is not only about quality but quantity as well. You need to submit videos on a regular basis. One great technique for doing that is to create a video series. You make a 'how to' video on whatever subject that relates to your niche but instead of covering all the information in one video you break it down into smaller segments and create multiple videos. This will encourage your visitors to come back.

5. When you submit your videos there are some rules to follow too. For one thing, make sure that you include keywords in your title, description and tags. This will help your video stand out and get noticed.

Also, while it's important to have your video submitted to a lot of places you want to make sure that it's only submitted to quality sites. You don't want your dog training video to show up on an adult site. That won't help your credibility.

And remember: submitting your video to 20 -30 top quality sites is better than blindly submitting it to 100 less desirable sites.

When it comes to getting the most out of your social media marketing video efforts you would want to start off with the 'big' ones such as Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube. Later, you can add to some smaller, yet still high quality sites, to make your video work for you as much as possible.

Growing your email list with offline tactics is frequently overlooked by a lot of online marketers and even people with bricks and mortar stores. Everyone gets so excited about building the list using online tactics that they forget offline methods are very effective too. Let’s get right into it. Start putting these tactics to work right away and you’ll see a huge growth spurt for your email list.

In-Person Events There is almost nothing more effective when building your list offline than in-person events. People like to connect on a more personal level than just online. Even if you do webinars, there is something special about getting to shake hands, hug, and look into someone’s eyes. All of these in-person, visual, and physical elements super-charge the trust-building process and shift it into overdrive.

Attend Networking Events – Find out where your audience is going to events. A good way to discover this is to find out where the gurus, movers and shakers, and your competition is speaking, attending, and sponsoring. Go to those events. Go with a plan.

Bring sign up forms with you, give people a nice little gift such as a bookmark with a QR code, or a jump drive with a document that leads to your sign up and your gift.

Speak at Events – Don’t just go to events, once you make a name for yourself, you can start speaking at events. When you go to events get to know the people who have planned it. You can also reach out in advance and volunteer to help them at the event to get to know them. Then make sure everyone knows that you’re interested in public speaking. Write a book and start handing that out. It can be the basis for your speaking topic too.

Host Workshops – A fun and effective way to build your list offline is to host small local workshops (and you can even travel to do it too). Keep them small, no more than 20 at a time. Via event advertising, people can still sign up for your email list, even if they can’t attend. Plus, if you prefer to have an audience of more than 20, you can host a series of events or multiple sessions in the future. Keeping the session seat limits small helps you to give attendees a more personal experience.

Trade Show Booth – Create materials that you can present through a trade booth. Set up a touch screen so people can join your list at the booth. Develop some materials that people can take home. Make it easy for them to sign up. If it’s allowed to make sales at the trade booth, make amazing offers on site.

Use Lead Magnets to Build Your List on Social Media - There are numerous ways you can use social media to grow your list with a captivated audience who will stay on your list, tell others about your list, and buy your offers and even become long-term customers and fans of your products and services.

Using these ideas to grow your list can seem nervewracking or scary if you’re not used to going to inperson events. But, you’ll have a great time, meet interesting people, and get more loyal list members and followers than you ever thought possible.

Contact Local Businesses Who Need Your Offers

Another way to grow your list using offline methods is to think locally. Often the local market is forgotten in favor of marketing to people all over the world.

Attracting a local audience can be easier because you’re part of that community and people will trust you faster due to that. Let’s look at a few ways to attract locals to get on your email list.

Cold Calling – Don’t be afraid to get on the phone and call business owners that need your services. If you market to individuals, you’ll need to pay to buy a legal list of those who have expressed interest in offers like yours. Ask them if you can add them to your list. If you have the technology add them to a text list in addition to that of an email list, then you can market to them in multiple ways.

Send Flyers and Postcards – Get an address list by purchasing it or collecting addresses for people you know may be interested in your offers. Create a flyer and postcard to send to them that gives enough information to help them choose to get on your email list. Using a QR code is a great way to use less space.

Join the Chamber of Commerce – A very effective way to network with and get access to information about your local area businesses is to join the chamber of commerce. You can get a listing in the directory online, and send information for B2B sales via the monthly Chamber Pak. If you’re a B to C business that’s okay. You can market to businesses that serve your customers offering them options to please their customers via your offers Purchase Addresses – You can purchase addresses from a reputable company that collects and sells the addresses that may be within your audience. Try a company like InfoUSA.com. When you buy addresses from a new company start small, test the waters, and then if you get a good response you know their lists are good.

Use a Service -- In your local community, you may have services already that can help you find your audience. If you currently receive any mailers that are full of coupons for local businesses, you can contact them to give your offers a try.

Delivery Service Offers – Pizza deliveries and other food deliveries are common in most areas.

You can offer a company to provide to them free a certain number of boxes, bags, or cups with your advertisement on them to get the word out about your product or service.

Growing your list locally is an amazing way to build trust, become a local personality, end up speaking at more events, and build your authority. That will pay off in a big way not just locally either. The fan base you build locally will have friends, family, and others that learn about you through them that aren’t local.

Print Marketing Using QR Codes You may have heard that QR codes are dead. But guess what, they’re not. The main problem with QR codes is that people in the USA and Canada don’t use them well. They use them in amazing ways in China. If you think differently, you can also use QR codes creatively and effectively. Let’s look at some good ways to use print marketing with QR codes to build your list offline.

• Brochures with QR codes – Instead of making a long brochure create a short one with an overview. Then use a QR code to bring them to your website to find the full and complete information along with an email sign up form to get even more information.

Cards with QR Codes – You can put a QR code on a business card by adding it to the back, or you can make it the entire card to peak curiosity about checking the card with their smartphone.

Remember, to ensure that your forms and sites look and work fabulously via a smartphone.

Premiums with QR Codes – You can design QR codes that are not just black and white. You can make a QR code with colors and put them on Tshirts, mugs, bookmarks, notepads, in the back of a book you wrote.

Authorship with QR Codes – If you’ve created a report or a book, add a QR code to the front and back. Get it printed. It doesn’t cost much to ask your local copy shop to bring out your books for you to give out to people you meet in person.

Building your email list with offline-tactics doesn’t mean you don’t want to use technology. It just means that you must bring the technology off the laptop or PC and into the physical world where people really live. The people you attract to your list in this way will be far more loyal and interested when they talk to you, meet you, and deal with you in person.

Offer Telephone Customer Service One way to move list building to offline is to change how you do customer service. Today, most small businesses opt for help desks instead of phone support. If you can add phone support to your customer service offerings, you can move people to your email list via phone.

Train Your Agent(s) to collect email addresses.

If you hire someone to help, always train them to ask for email address information and get permission to add them to a list. Consider adding text list technology too for SMS marketing.

Set Up a Voice Mail Option. One way to offer phone support is to set up a simple voicemail where you ask them to leave their name, number, and email address so that you can call them back.

Do call them back within a specific period and make sure they know they’re getting added to an email list.

•

Add Number to Advertisements – Some people still trust older technology more than newer and will be more likely to put themselves on your email list if they can call someone. Even if you use a voice mail system, they may still trust you more and get on your list. Voicemail works great for sole practitioners without a staff or the funds to hire a dedicated agent.

Offer Discounts & Special Offers You can make discount and special offers in person. Keep forms with you, or a card with a QR code to help them sign up for your offers in person. If you are at a trade show, you can offer a touch screen for them to use so they don’t need their own too.

Remember that people often need to be incentivized in some way to provide their information. Make it a habit to collect email addresses, phone numbers, and their name.

Let them know that you’re going to email them or call them in the future so that it’s expected and not a surprise. You want them to want to be on your list.

Incentivize Your Staff & Affiliates

Collecting email addresses whenever someone calls is a great way to build your email list. You can add your phone number to advertisements, to your website, and your FAQ. Plus you can add it to your business card too.

Your contractors, staff, and others can be motivated to tell more people about you. 3: Add your ClickBank Payment Button You need to generate and add your own payment button that will send customers from your Pitch Page to the ClickBank site to pay for the product.

8. Verify the information on the order confirmation page.

Click through to download your product, which should take you to the correct Thank You Page URL for the product you are testing.

5: Create a Thank You Page The Thank You Page appears only after a customer makes a purchase. In addition to thanking the customer, the thank you page must also include the following information: The

revenue earned is usually done on a commission system so deciding on this at the onset of the partnership would be advised. There is also the possibility of a need for repeat services needed as the success of promotions heightens. This of course creates further earning revenue.

Customers must be able to reach you if they have a question about your product need technical assistance after the purchase. Please include an email address, a link to your email address, or a contact us link on your Thank You Page.

A reminder to the customer that their credit card or bank statement will show a charge by ClickBank or CLKBANK*COM, rather than a reference to your specific product. This reminder should be prominent, as customers sometimes request refunds because they forget that ClickBank is handling the purchase.

But to make the test purchase, you must use the test credit card details that ClickBank provides to you. You can no longer use a real credit card for this step.

Clear instructions on how to download or access the product, or information on how and when it will be delivered to them.

To make a test purchase: 1. Log in to your ClickBank account.

2. Click the Vendor Settings tab.

3. Click My Site.

4. In the Testing Your Products box, click Generate New Card Number.

4: Test Your Payment Button Before you submit your product for approval, you’ve got to place a test order as though you were a customer. This way you know that all of your links are working.

This creates a credit card number, expiration date, and validation code you can use to place test orders. This card information will be valid for 24 hours, after which time it will expire and will no longer be usable for test orders.

5. Take note of the credit card information.

6. Go to the Pitch Page for the product you want to test, and click through the payment link, which should take you to the ClickBank order form.

7. Enter information into each field of the order form.

You can use any address information you want, but enter the test credit card details you created.

6: Designate a HopLink Target URL If you want to take advantage of ClickBanks’ affiliate network, you’ll need to specify a URL where affiliates can send potential customers.

This URL is the “HopLink Target URL.” Typically, the HopLink Target URL is the same URL as your Pitch Page, though not always.

To designate a HopLink Target URL, follow these steps: 1. Log in to your ClickBank account.

2. Click the Vendor Settings tab.

3. Click My Site.

4. Click Edit to the right of the Marketplace Information section.

5. Enter your HopLink Target URL in the top field.

6. Enter Marketplace Information (see below).

7: Enter Your Marketplace Information This is the information a potential affiliate will see when they are searching for new products to promote.

An accurate and compelling Marketplace description will help affiliates find your product and convince them to promote it for you.

Here’s the information you’ll need to enter: • Marketplace Category and Subcategory – The category and subcategory in which to display your product.

• Marketplace Title – Your site or product's title in the marketplace. This can be up to 70 characters long.

• Marketplace Description – A description of your site or product. This can be up to 250 characters long.

• Commission Rate – The base commission rate you will pay to affiliates if they successfully send a buying customer to your site.

• Affiliate Tools URL – If you have created a page with tools for your affiliates, such as copy, graphics, or recommendations, enter the URL here.

• Affiliate Support Email Address – If you have an email address through which affiliates can contact you with questions or concerns, enter it here.

8: Complete the “My Products Information” section This is information about your product such as the location of your Thank You Page and your retail price.

• Log into your ClickBank account.

• Click the Vendor Settings tab.

• Click My Products.

• Click Add New Product.

• In the Product Type field, select One-Time Digital Product.

• Enter the Product Details: • Product Category – The category of the product.

• Item Number – Each product in your account must have a unique item number. This value can include letters, numbers, and dashes.

• Product Title – The product title that should be displayed on the ClickBank order form. This field is limited to 70 characters. This title does not appear in the ClickBank Marketplace.

• Language – The language in which the product is offered.

• Image (Optional) – The image displayed on the order form for the product. You can select any approved image that you have uploaded.

• Pitch Page URL –The URL where you will offer the recurring billing product to your customers. This might be the same as the HopLink Target URL on the My Site page.

• Mobile Pitch Page URL (Optional) –The URL where you will offer the product to customers on mobile devices.

• Max Purchase Quantity –The maximum quantity available for a single purchase.

•Enter the Product Pricing and Commission information: • Product Currency –The currency with which customers can purchase the product.

• Product Price –The price the customer pays for a onetime product. This price must be at least $3. If you are using a currency other than US Dollars, the price must be worth at least $3 according to the current exchange rate.

• Commission –The commission percentage an affiliate receives for the sale of a one-time product.

• Enter the Product Delivery Details. You must provide at least one delivery option: • Digital Product Upload –You can upload a single file here to have it delivered by ClickBank. If your product includes more than one file, you must deliver it through your Thank You page instead. See the Digital Product Upload article for more information about this option.

• Thank You Page URL –The URL where the customer is taken after purchase, which provides instructions on how to retrieve the product.

• Mobile Thank You Page URL –The URL where a customer using a mobile device is taken after purchase, which provides instructions on how to retrieve the product.

• Click Save Product.

9: Request Product Approval Before you can begin selling your product via ClickBank, it needs to be manually approved by ClickBank’s Business Services.

Once you’ve completed the steps above, submit a product approval request by doing the following: 1.Log in to your ClickBank account 2.Click the Vendor Settings tab.

3.Click My Products.

4.Locate the product to be approved.

5.Request product approval by clicking the Submit Product Approval Request icon in the Actions column of the product listing.

6.Fill out the Request Product Approval form. The contents of this form vary based on the product type.

7.Verify the information. If the information is accurate, check the checkbox indicating that the listed information is accurate.

8.Click Submit Product Approval Request at the bottom of the form.

The system will assign a status of Approval Requested.

A member from ClickBank Business Services will review your site and product information to determine if it will be approved or disapproved.

• If approved, the system will update the product status to Approved. You can then begin to sell the product to customers.

• If disapproved, the system will update the product status to Disapproved. You can modify the product to resolve any issues and resubmit it.

You will typically receive the results of your request within three to five business days via email.

10: Pay the One-Time Activation Fee Yes, there is an upfront free to selling on ClickBank.

It’s $49.95 for your first product, and $29.95 for each product thereafter.

When your product is approved, you’ll receive instructions on how to pay this activation charge.

Note: To get the discounted rate on future products, you must include a note in the "Comments" section of the first product approval request you submit from the new account, stating that you would like the discounted activation fee for your new account and including the nickname of your first account or the receipt number of the initial activation charge payment.

11: Begin Selling Your Product Yeah! You’ve finally made it to this step.

Again, it sounds like a lot of work to get a product on ClickBank. But some of this – making a sales page, making a thank you page, creating a payment button – are things you would have to do no matter how you make sales.

Here are a few more tips to make your ClickBank product a success: Add a Product Image Once you’ve completed your product listing, you can add a product image. When this image is approved, it will appear on the ClickBank order form for that product.

Remember, products with images – including virtual images – tend to convert better than products without them.

Attract Affiliates Create an affiliates’ page that provides additional information, images and resources to potential affiliates.

These resources help you to control your branding, and also make it easier for affiliates to promote your products.

Provide Customer Service Just as always, you’ll need to answer questions about your product and help customers as needed.

Encourage customers to come to you first, if they have any issues or problems, rather than going to ClickBank.

This is especially important for refunds, since ClickBank will refund, no questions asked.

And there you have it – listing a product on Clickbank is perhaps a little more work than listing it on your own.

Then again, the ClickBank system is nearly foolproof.

Make it through all the steps and your sales funnel will work.

And you won’t have to deal with VAT taxes, state taxes or Paypal suddenly limiting your account.

And perhaps best of all, you do get potential access to 100,000 active affiliates.

If only a tiny handful of those active affiliates love your product and promote it hard, you can literally earn a six figure income from one product.

Mike Geary wrote the book, “The Truth About Abs” and sold it on ClickBank for $47, starting in 2005.

Between sales of the book, his related membership site and affiliate products he promoted to his list, he was clearing about a million dollars – per MONTH. Who knows… maybe you’ll be the next 6 or 7 figure ClickBank product creator!

PayPal, ClickBank, JVZoo And Warrior Plus

Previously we covered what was going on in the world of internet marketing and PayPal. Here’s an update: As you know, recently PayPal closed or limited a number of internet marketer’s accounts. No warning, no nothing. They just shut people down without giving them a chance to correct any problems – problems the marketers generally don’t even realize are there – if they are there at all.

No doubt PayPal is doing this with an eye towards limiting risk.

Rather than waiting for something bad to happen, they’re taking what they think are pre-emptive strikes in the name of combatting fraud.

For example, Joe Marketer is doing a steady $5,000 a month.

But thanks to his first big product launch, Joe is suddenly doing $50,000 in one month. Must be fraud, right? Well, no. You and I know that a big launch can bring in a lot of money fast. But to PayPal, a sudden increase in revenue can spell trouble, and they limit or close the account.

How can you limit your risk?

Making matters worse, we seldom find out exactly why PayPal does these things. We can take educated guesses, but they won’t even tell the account holders they’ve shut down what their real reasons were and practices that they deem to be high risk.

This makes for easier accounting, easier refunds and less risk of PayPal scrutiny.

First, don’t rely just on PayPal. Get yourself an account at either Stripe, ClickBank or Authorize.net before you need it. Preferably, get accounts at all three if you don’t already have them.

If you are forced to start using exclusively Stripe instead of PayPal, you will likely notice it does hurt your sales somewhat. Customers are used to PayPal and generally prefer it to using a system they’re not familiar with.

But it’s better than having no option at all. If PayPal suddenly limits your account and you’re already set up on Stripe, you can switch over in a heartbeat and continue to receive payments.

Second, limit your exposure to other business PayPal accounts.

Let’s say you’re a vendor and you make payments to an affiliate who gets shut down by PayPal. PayPal may then take a look at your business, because you were sending money to the offending account.

Or let’s say you’re an affiliate, and the product vendor gets shut down by PayPal. Again, PayPal might also shut you down, since you were receiving payments from this vendor.

It has happened. One account gets shut down, and then multiple accounts somehow associated with that first account are shut down as well.

Because of this phenomenon, the IM industry has made some significant changes within affiliate platforms such as JVZoo and Warrior Plus.

JVZoo now takes Stripe, Authorize.net, Zift and Payoneer.

And JVZoo now allows affiliates and vendors to place payments on delay.

Instant payments can be a red flag to PayPal, and possibly problematic on several levels. But as a JVZoo vendor or affiliate, you can log into JVZoo, go to your account, click the edit button, and force commissions to be delayed.

Similarly, Warrior Plus now offers the ability for both vendors and affiliates to force “wallet” payments on their accounts.

With the “wallet,” Warrior Plus acts as an escrow account between vendor and affiliate.

In addition, Warrior Plus has just rolled out its “PayPal Plus.” For vendors, this means you only receive your portion of the sale earnings. Instead of receiving the full sale price as you did with adaptive payments, you only receive your portion, with everything else going to the Warrior Plus Wallet, which then pays any affiliates and partners involved in the sale.

Third, consider placing a portion of your business on ClickBank.

ClickBank is not a “middleman” platform like JVZoo and Warrior Plus. Rather, they take full responsibility for the product, which they ‘buy’ from the vendor and sell to the customer.

ClickBank uses its own merchant account and PayPal accounts. They have a fraud prevention team that beats anything in the industry.

And because they are the legal vendor, they collect all appropriate sales taxes for jurisdictions around the world.

They pay the affiliates, and they handle the 1099’s. They also have a huge support staff for vendors, affiliates and customers.

And of course, they have a ton of active affiliates as well, to help you promote your products.

The two drawbacks to ClickBank are they charge a bit more than JVZoo and Warrior Plus, and they are more focused on niches outside of the internet marketing realm.

However, with the recent round of PayPal account closures and other changes, more internet marketers are moving back to ClickBank.

Social Media 2019 – What Does and Does not Work

What Works: 1. Pause before you post.

Write your post, wait 15 minutes and read it again before you post. You’ll avoid some terrible mistakes doing this – the kind that make the news for all the wrong reasons.

2. Just be you.

Let your readers see you for who you really are. Most people follow others more for how they’re saying things than what they’re saying.

Share your unique insight and strike a conversational tone that engages readers.

3. Set realistic expectations.

Realize that social media alone won’t (usually) make you rich. Yes, it can help to build your brand reputation, generate awareness and increase visibility of your website and products.

But you’ve also got to work on your website content, the quality of your products and services, working with partners and affiliates and so forth.

Don’t get lost in social media, it’s only one piece of the puzzle.

4. Write for your readers.

Focus your content on what will help your audience and write it in a way that they will consume it, use it and share it.

What doesn’t work: 1. Engaging with haters, trolls, and other negative influences online.

Battling them is—and always will be—a lost cause.

Just… don’t. Always take the high road.

Always.

2. Being on every social platform.

Figure out which one, two or three channels deliver the best results for your business and focus exclusively on those.

3. Posting without proofbreading.

Yes, that was intentional to make a point.

Proofread everything at least twice.

You will still make a few errors now and then, but not so many that people question your intelligence or the quality of your products and services.

4. Ignoring your followers’ questions, comments and messages.

Ignoring your audience is the fast track to creating hard feelings, missing opportunities and damaging your brand.

Do you want your customers to think you’re “Too good or high and mighty” to answer them? No way.

5. Using AI as a substitute for human interaction.

Yes, you can schedule posts and use automation to save time, but it’s not a replacement for person-to-person communication on social media.

Your followers expect to develop a relationship with you, which can only be done if you’re genuinely engaged with them.

Why Can't Bots Check “I Am Not A Robot” Checkboxes?

Have you ever checked the box and wondered why a robot couldn’t do something so simple?

Come to find out, there is difference between how humans move the mouse versus how bots do it.

Google's reCaptcha system uses this fact to predict whether you are a human or not, using a predictive model trained with sample mouse movements made by both humans and abusive bots.

As you move your mouse over the "I'm not a robot" widget towards the checkbox to click, every tiny movement is captured and sent to the predictive model.

The predictive model analyzes your mouse movements against the sample set of data and decide whether you are human or a bot.

It’s interesting to note that Google invented an entire virtual machine – essentially a simulated computer inside a computer – just to run that checkbox.

That virtual machine uses their own language, which they encrypt twice.

This is no simple encryption. Normally when you password protect something, you might use a key to decode it. Google’s invented language is decoded with a key that is changed by the process of reading the language, and the language also changes as it is read.

Google combines that key with the web address you’re visiting, so you can’t use a CAPTCHA from one website to bypass another. It further combines that with “fingerprints” from your browser, catching microscopic variations in your computer that a bot would struggle to replicate (like CSS rules).

All of this makes it purposely difficult to understand what Google is even doing. In fact, you need to write special tools just to analyze what’s happening, and it turns out that people have done just that.

They’ve found that Google is recording and analyzing: • • • • • • •

Your computer’s time zone and time Your IP address and rough location Your screen size and resolution What browser you’re using What plugins you’re using How long the page took to display How many key presses, mouse clicks, and tap/scrolls were made

And … some other stuff we don’t quite understand.

They then combine all of this data along with their knowledge of the person using the computer. That’s right, Google observes the behavior of billions of real people.

How they check all of this information is impossible to know, but we do know that to beat the captcha, you’ve got a ridiculous amount of messy human behaviors to simulate which are almost unknowable. Not to mention the fact that they keep changing, and you can’t tell when.

And you thought you were just checking an innocent looking little box, didn’t you?

Because when you don’t have those strategies in place, you’ll get derailed.

Discipline will fly out the door, and you’ll have to start back at motivation all over again.

From experience, I can tell you that you’ve lost the tension between where you are and where you could be.

It’s by developing yourself that you can then develop others, whether those others are your clients, customers or employees.

And best of all, growth always increases your capacity, and thus the capacity of your business.

It’s by first becoming the sort of person who can build and run a million-dollar business… …that you can eventually build and run a million-dollar business.

Your personal growth must come first.

Without the growth, you will never become the person who is the founder of the company featured on the cover of Forbes.

Your personal growth is the foundation of your business’ success.

A coach will help you to go around, go through or go over obstacles that limit your success.

And a coach will hold you accountable to your plan and goals.

Just one.

Now name one million dollar earner who didn’t – at some time in their lives – have a coach or mentor.

You can’t do it.

Having a coach is one of those “secrets” that only successful people seem to know. The unsuccessful always claim they don’t need a coach. And they don’t succeed.

Remember that your coach will be your biggest nonjudgmental supporter – he or she will believe in you and will be committed to helping you get out of your own way.

A coach is a key part of your team needed for you to achieve your personal and professional success.

And somehow, they never seem to get the correlation.

The day the Superbowl or the World Cup is won by a team without a coach is the day you don’t need one, either.

Fat chance of that.

Because it cannot happen.

Anyone who is striving to do anything great needs a coach, whether that coach is a boss, a mentor, that rare parent who is up to the task, or a professional business coach with a solid history of successful clients.
