Dubbed the Milano Skyline Collection, this insightful new cocktail collection, created by the mixology team at acclaimed Armani/ Bamboo Bar, features seven indulgent libations, each of which pays tribute to points across Milan.
Offering guests a taste of both “old” and “new” Milan, the Milano Skyline Collection’s CityLife cocktail combines Tanqueray Dry London Gin with sake, salty peanuts, and pineapple juice and draws attention to the new Milanese Business District, home to stunning buildings by Arata Isozaki, Daniel Libeskind and the late Zaha Hadid.
Another popular concoction for gin lovers, 1386 tells the tale of the city’s iconic Duomo of Milan, one of the city’s most visited cathedrals, the construction of which was proclaimed by archbishop Antonio de’Saluzzi in 1386. The cocktail combines Tanqueray Ten gin with Cocchi Americano vermouth and drops of aromatic oil.
Heady and herbaceous, Bosco Verticale, with Don Julio Blanco tequila, matcha tea cordial, and an aromatic herbal tonic, is dedicated to two of the city’s residential complexes, both of which are contemporary green spaces that embrace nature.
Named for the Spanish political figure Juan Fernández de Velasco who once governed over Milan, and inspired by Torre Velasca, one of the city’s most important skyscrapers, the complex Il Governatore cocktail marries Ron Zacapa 23-Year-Old rum with Brandy Cardenal Mendoza, Rabarbaro Zucca, a cinnamon decoction, and chestnut, making it ideal for the cooler months ahead. Also perfect for warming both body and soul, C’era Una Volta combines Bulleit Rye Whiskey with Campari, fortified wine and Figaro fig liqueur in a modern rendition of the classic Boulevardier that pays homage to the medieval fortifications of Castello Sforzesco, the seat of power of the Sforza Dynasty.
For something lighter and zestier, the Milano Fizz, with vodka, Domaine de Canton liqueur, acidic grape cordial, marjoram and Champagne, is served in a flute to resemble the Unicredit tower in Gae Aulenti square; while the Il Toccasana combines Tanqueray gin with Cocchi vermouth, Fernet Branca, and a cacao nibs infusion and pays tribute to Torre Branca, the Fernet brand’s ancestorial home in Milan.
