Highflyers Heathfield
2012
Congratulations from Mrs Heywood It is splendid to see the Heathfield community being rewarded for all their hard work, effort and commitment in a whole spectrum of fields. Congratulations firstly must go to all our girls who received their A Level, AS Level and GCSE results in August; everyone who worked with the girls is extremely proud of their accomplishments. It is so satisfying to see so many of our A Level girls achieving their university courses and destinations of choice which include Biochemistry at King’s College London, Civil Engineering at University College London, Anthropology and Archaeology at the University of Durham to name but a few. Congratulations also go beyond public examination success. Mr Valner, Teacher of Latin and Classics, has passed his Newly Qualified Teacher Training. During the summer, LAMDA results were announced with all girls examined achieving an impressive standard of results. Furthermore, since the start of the
Heathfield’s Public Examination Success
Michaelmas Term four girls have been selected to represent Berkshire at Lacrosse. We are also proud to hear of the achievements of our Heathfield Old Girls who year on year keep us informed of their university accomplishments, which this year includes Francesca Lamarque who achieved a BA (First Class) in Philosophy and Theology from The University of Oxford. As you read this newsletter I hope you gain further insight into all the remarkable achievements that are being accomplished at Heathfield. Mrs Jo Heywood Headmistress

Exam Success Celebrations Heathfield A Level girls were thrilled during the summer when they received their A Level results. As a year group they achieved a superb 24% at A* for their hard work. The girls now go on to expand their horizons further with many attending university and others opting to take gap years before continuing their academic careers. At AS Level 100% of entrants achieved grade A in Spanish as well as Art and Design or Art and Design Textiles. A further 80% of entrants achieved grade A in History, Religious Studies and Art and Design Photography. Lisa (Form UVI) achieved straight As in all her examined subjects – Geography, English, Religious Studies and Photography as well as an A* at A Level in Russian. Congratulations to all GCSE entrants who received their results this summer. Special congratulations must go to Ella, Ingrid, Sydney, Thea-Rose and Janet for their outstanding results with each girl achieving A* or A grades in ten subjects.
