THE MERIT OF ONE IS THE HONOUR OF ALL

Eleanor Wyatt, the founder of Heathfield, established the school to allow the girls to ‘see the sky.’ She meant it literally, but I take it to be a metaphor to allow the girls to reach their greatest potential in whatever sphere that is, whether academic, artistic, sporting, musical or dramatic.

Heathfield enables pupils to excel and empowers them as self-confident, resilient, articulate young women. Academically, Heathfield instils an intellectual curiosity combined with self-discipline and it is this combination which leads our young women to success in so many areas. However, we are not led purely by our academic outcomes; destinations include the best Art colleges and Drama schools as well as the top universities and the world of work. Our girls, staff and parents work hard together to ensure that each individual’s dream is realised.

I am a passionate believer in the independence of spirit, the lifelong friendships and the dedication to service to the community which Heathfield engenders in our pupils.

Although Eleanor Wyatt spoke over a century ago I am absolutely committed to continuing her vision of helping every girl to ‘see the sky’.

Heathfield School in Ascot is a small independent school for 11-18 year old girls offering weekly boarding, full boarding and day places.

Set in 36 acres of beautiful grounds, less than an hour from central London, tradition mixes with the contemporary to create a unique environment for living and learning.

Girls thrive at Heathfield: whatever their talents and skills we help to discover and develop them. Girls excel in their chosen disciplines, nurtured by an outstanding team of academic, pastoral and co-curricular staff.

A new state-of-the-art STEM building is inspiring a new generation with a love of the Sciences. The departing Sixth Form are going on to study various academic courses including Medicine at Oxford, Maths at University College London and Biomedical Science at Warwick.

In 2016, students achieved a record 42% A* - A grades at A Level and 47% A* - A grades at GCSE. Heathfield enriches every single girl’s academic achievements. We are in the *top 17% of UK schools for adding value to a pupil’s academic results from the time she starts at Heathfield to the time she takes her public examinations.

Girls join us at 11, 13 and 16 for day and boarding places and leave as confident young women ready to take on the world.

Heathfield opens up a world of opportunities.

Girls participate in a rich and diverse programme of after school and weekend activities and trips throughout the school year.

We encourage pupils to take on challenges, to help and support each other and to learn how to become independent.

The Heathfield Fellowship - the school’s Old Girls’ association – provides advice and support to current pupils and a social and business network to former pupils.

Heathfield’s award-winning Photography Department has won five consecutive Good Schools’ Guide Awards for Best Result at A Level.

With a nationally renowned Art and Textiles Department, we are the only school in the UK to officially partner with the world-famous London College of Fashion. This exclusive relationship guarantees Heathfield applicants an interview.

With our own Designer in Residence, the annual fashion show was described as ‘professional standard’ by fashion experts and regularly features in the national media.

But creativity does not just flow in the Arts – we believe that the creativity at the heart of Heathfield flows through every subject area and activity.

Heathfield pupils’ LAMDA, Music and Dance examination results are consistently outstanding.

Heathfield holds regular music, drama and dance concerts and exhibitions to showcase the girls’ work and to give them the opportunity to perform.

Girls are encouraged to compose and arrange their own music and choreography and they work hard front and backstage at dramatic performances including the annual school play or musical. A new digital recording studio gives pupils the opportunity for even more experimental creativity.

Sport plays an important part in school life. We believe sport is for everyone.

With a strong interhouse structure, every girl regularly participates and competes in Athletics, Lacrosse, Netball, Rounders and Swimming.

Heathfield offers an extensive Equestrian programme and girls of all standards are welcome. Our riders have achieved outstanding success in Dressage, Show Jumping and Polo.

Heathfield regularly produces county, national and international sportswomen.

Heathfield Sixth Formers are prepared so well for university and their chosen course that an impressive 90% of Heathfield Old Girls have been awarded a First or 2.1 in their degrees in the last five years.

In 2016, 60% of our students staying in the UK went on to Russell Group universities.

Heathfield girls also gain places at leading Art, Drama and Music schools nationally and internationally including Central Saint Martins, RADA, the London College of Fashion, and Parsons New York. Other students attain places on vocational courses having already decided on their career paths, assisted by one-to-one careers advice at school, talks from visiting speakers on their own careers, and the many networking opportunities.
