Dear Parents and Guardians As we approach the end of a busy and unusual term, I am so proud of how everyone has responded to the challenges we have faced, and the attitude with which we have returned to School. The past three weeks have been a transition from Heathfield@Home into the full swing of school life. Pupils and staff have all embraced the opportunity to be back together. Almost without exception, the immediate response when asked what they are enjoying now we are back in school, is being with their friends. It is this connection that makes Heathfield such a wonderful community. This last week for me has characterised how important it is for the pupils to understand the value of variety. From quiet reflection in Chapel, through focus in lessons, to absolute pleasure and excitement as they enjoy Easter activities with their friends (and beat their teachers in the tug-o-war!), knowing how to engage in different situations, and how to contribute fully, is crucial. The courage I have seen from pupils performing musically in Assembly or giving a speech at Speaker’s Corner, their determination on the climbing wall, and their empathy when supporting their friends. They have done it all brilliantly. And now we look forward. We are optimistic for a continued path to fewer restrictions after Easter and we will update you as soon as we have further guidance from the Government. There are many events and activities to look forward to, and for us all to share these together will be a long-awaited pleasure. I wish you all the best for a restful, enjoyable, and healthy Easter. Best wishes Sarah Wilson
