Day Girls at Heathfield School Day and Boarding School for Girls 11 to 18

Day Girls at Heathfield School Day girls play a full part in the life of Heathfield alongside our boarders. Admitted in September 2015, they have successfully and happily integrated throughout the school.

Our day girls travel in from Ascot and the surrounding areas.

Heathfield is only an hour from London and ideally located close to the A30, M3, M4 and M25 (please see approximate journey times on map).

Current day girls are embracing the many advantages that our exceptional school has to offer, in and out of the classroom. Our strong academic record combined with our nationally renowned pastoral care ensures girls live and learn in a challenging, supportive and happy environment. Heathfield’s deliberately small size means girls receive focused, individual attention enabling them to flourish and grow with confidence.

The newly completed state-of-the-art STEM (Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics) facility is part of the ongoing capital investment programme as the school continues to drive forward the study of such rigorous academic subjects.

In 2015, Heathfield’s Value Added score ranked in the top 17% of all schools nationally. Value Added is a score produced by the Centre for Evaluation and Monitoring at Durham University, which analyses subject performance and pupil ability data. This means that pupils at Heathfield are more likely to exceed their projected academic targets than those at 83% of other schools nationally.

At GCSE and Sixth Form, each girl has an Academic Tutor who provides individual support and advice as part of our integrated academic and pastoral system. Parents are kept fully informed of their daughter’s progress and are welcome partners in the educational process.

41% of 2015 leavers went on to Russell Group Universities.

Scholarships are awarded for Academic, Art, Music, Drama and Sport at 11+, 13+ and 16+. Bursaries are also available to girls joining in Form I, Form III and Lower VI. Day girls have all the same opportunities as boarders at Heathfield and take part in a variety of extra-curricular activities including Art, Drama, Music and Sport. Additional school activities include The Athena Society, Ballet, Creative Writing, Debating, Football, Gymnastics, LAMDA, Street Dance, Tap Dance, Tennis Coaching, Yoga and Zumba, to name but a few. With its ever-popular and extensive Equestrian programme, the girls have achieved outstanding success in Dressage, Show Jumping and Polo and girls of all standards are welcome to participate.

Whilst Heathfield is renowned for its prowess in the Arts, sport also plays an important part in school life. Heathfield regularly produces county, regional and even national sportswomen. There is also a strong Interhouse structure which gives every girl in the school the opportunity to represent her House in both team and individual disciplines.

Heathfield offers flexible days to suit your family life; whether day girls want to come to school for breakfast or for the beginning of school, leave after lessons or stay on for an evening or weekend activity they are involved in. Although girls are expected to play sport on Saturdays if they are representing the school, Saturday School is not compulsory.

Heathfield is now accepting day girls at 11+, 13+ and Sixth Form.

Occasional places in other years are also available. Transport can be provided, subject to demand.
